Why not pixel "nude" models rather than force them to dress in underwear?

I don't particularly care. If I want to see naked people, I browse the internet. And the scenes where showing nakes bodies makes sense are so short that I don't think it really matters whether we see underwear or pixels.
Pixelated body parts would probably just make me laugh.

oh the viruses you must get. I mean computer viruses

Sacrifices must be made and all that...:innocent:

This is probably going to sound more perverted than it is, but I generally use nude mods for that reason - when my character has nothing equipped, I want to see nothing equipped.

Why are people arguing nudity in this thread? OP didn't advertise nudity, he advertised having the characters be censored SIMS-style. Which would look just stupid in a Fantasy game.
Also, equipable underwear, possibly with enchantments. Come on, guys. Am I the only one who finds that ridiculous?
Sigh, I'm the only one who read OP's post, ain't I?

The only time i've seen this done with pixels was in MGS and the end result looked silly. The format of romance scenes in DA2 was better than DAO, Just build up to it and fade to black and rejoin the PC and LI afterwards. No need for gratuitous T&A.

Fade to black is a cop out that scriptwriters resort to when they don't know to to hndle a situation properly. LIke I said, one could habdle this matter in a tasteful, subme and suggestive manner that only makes us believe that there charachters are nude without actually showing or revelling in any of it. This is part of what being "artistic" is all about, managing to pull of feats such as this while at the same time staying credible to your audience.

If a character is written to say.....

"Take me now you erstwhile Eastwood! Your deed's have me swooning to see firsthand your skill with the sword"!

I would be reaching between increduality and dismay if the character in question was:

1. Pixelated
2. Forced to wear an eskimo coat to please the censors
3. Rewritten to please those who desire virtue over nookie while in the next minute that character open's up enough people to spray themselves and the wall's floors and ceiling with a crimson overcoating.

Dragon Age is not shy about about being mature in it's content. Though if nudity is a problem then I suggest the Catherine Zeta Jone's approach and bring off scene's of nudity that are not explicit but tastful. (Much like her scene where Zorro cuts her out of her dress. She's naked from the waist up but you see nothing that could be considered explicit or risque. More like burlesque).

I think though, that given alot of the complaint's are about pixelation, we should ask BW to push the roamnce scene's into HD. That'll make everyone happy :)

When you remove a character's clothing in the equipment screen, their arms and hands should immediately move up to cover their shameful bits.

Make it happen, Bioware!!

That might be an interesting idea...or they could do what they do in the first Austin Powers and have censorship using the setting.

I know this conversation about nudity has been going on for quite some time, but it would be interesting if BioWare/EA could put optional censoring in future games. No nudity does not necessarily make a good game with a good story. I mean, look at Shadows of the Damned.

But Johnson was awesome!

But I agree, a few cleverly placed camera angles and the nudity vs clothing thing would be a non-issue. A romance scene with Implied nudity (mixed with the right atmosphere) is just as effective (if not more so) than full frontal ****** 'n' arse.

Yea. I really loved Shadows of the Damned for its ability to put nudity in a game and still make it funny for people to enjoy. And Johnson....hell yes....Johnson. This is one of those rare times when EA scored big with game quality.

But if BioWare and EA can pull something off like this, but in a dark fantasy setting, or at least do it without having to see underwear intercourse....win? I suppose so.

I meant in games in general. Look at Mass Effect Shepard kills way more than that.

I'm all for this, as it would shelter people of the world from the inherent shame of her own naked bodies. Glad Bioware has this covered.

I am glad Morrigan protected me from nudity, by putting on underwear before sex. I would have become severely damaged if she hadn`t.

I have to say it's one thing the Bible referenced well, the only reason people cover themselves unnecessarily (This is emphasised by the media too) is because they are ashamed, (Which Ironically was taken to mean the opposite for sone reason.) time to let go of that fear and the ridiculous social stigma that we should be ashamed of our true naked appearance.

No more dry-humping please.

Or we could just have good old Fade To Black for sex scenes.

Indeed. We should all be nude all the time.

Can't we just use barbie and ken model?

To be honest, I don't mind if there's nothing or "something". I took art classes and drew naked models many times already. I don't look at naked bits and snicker "teeheehee". I look at the human bodies simply as art. I don't matter either way to me, to be honest. It's a mature game afterall. I like how Heavy Rain have realistic models. It brings a life-like dimension to the characters.

Yeah I suppose I should've mentioned the fact that clothes are good when practical right?
I really didn't think there'd be anyone as inept on the BSN for me to actually have to mention that, thanks for proving me wrong.
