Why not pixel "nude" models rather than force them to dress in underwear?

You don't see any actual sex occur in DA2, so why on earth would you assume that Anders keeps his coat on during it? Just because he didn't take it off immediatly after kissing Hawke?rapscallioness wrote...
ME3 did a good job, too. It was undies, but it was an improvement overall from even ME1.
DA2, Anders didn't even take off his coat. The same coat he's been fighting in for 3 years. Ack.

the devs r just scared to show a little bit of skin.
They were still shell shocked from the Faux Noise fluff piece about ME1's rampant, graphic and gratuitous nudity. Meanwhile, TW2's infamous sex scene sailed under their radar. Maybe they have something agains blue boobies.

I thought the ME1 romance scenes were the best that they've ever done.

The sims rating is Teen, and I'm not sure that pixelation would work in a cutscene. Not that underweartastic sex scenes work that well either, but I can't imagine they couldn't come up with decent camera angles and such that just show the barest hints of parts. That actually would be far sexier than full frontal anyway.
This poster has class, and I like it.
If only BioWare shared the same qualities.

Seriously, one of these days some moderaltely large dev studio has quantity and quality of you guys figured out. Then we see an AA(A) softcore porn RPG with some heavy daytime soap elements. Mayhaps that is a day when circle jerk circles of BSN start fellating some other forum.

Why would full frontal nudity be out of the question? Its M rated game, its not for children.
Just because it's not for children doesn't mean it wont be marketed to children.
Look at games like Amnesia or The Witcher, kids play them all the time. All it takes these days is for them to see the poster in their local game shop and go "mommy, I wanna play that game."

Why not stop playign video games and focus on digital " internet porn" models rather than force me to endure your carwings on a RPG forum? Seriously OP I just arrived from Internet and, I kid you not, there is actually tons o digital püssy to be had there you have no idea! Go check it out.
Or go play Witcher 2. At least CDPR know how to keep things immersive.

oh right, broodmothers.
But yeah it is sad they can push the violence and aggression buttons, but are so afraid to push the titillation buttons. It just makes a scene funny and awkward when people where their underwear in the shower. And if you can't show a nipple, there are always tasteful camera angles (ME1 Liara in 3). I'm sure they would if they could, powers that be and all. Bless those European's and The Witcher 2, for treating us like adults.

Its M rated game. Its not marketed to children, and if parents buy the game for them, its parents fault. And Witcher has much worse things then just sex, the kids should never ever even touch that game - if they do, again its the fault of their parents.
I don't want the product that is directed on mature audiance be hampered because it could be played by children. You think if somebody is writting a book or making a movie, which will be rated 18+, is looking at things like "ohh, no we better not put this in, because children couldn't handle it" ??????

I think it can be distracting if you're trying to make the scene about the characters. Because our culture makes it a big deal, it demands attention.
While just having it because your character doesn't have anything equipped would be silly. I don't need to be flashed just because I just drunk a respec potion and can't equip my armour any more. And having Oghren in his underwear because the Blood Dragon armour hasn't authorised was bad enough, I really don't need random naked Oghren.
And it'll probably take a disproportionate amount of attention among the media and general talk about the game. Bioware possibly don't want their game to be thought of as primarily the game with the nudity.

But then, for pity's sake, skip the love-making cut-scenes, they are utterly ridiculous and don't work.
Shower scene in ME3 is perhaps the biggest joke of all.
Witcher 2 had a wonderfully done sex/love scene (and it was entirely optional), that was done in fairly good taste and seemed natural.
If they're not gonna show skin in DA3 (which is perfectly fine), just don't do sex/love cut-scenes.

this post caught my attention. Sometimes when I please myself, I like to get rid of that social stigma. At the end of it I feel refreshed and emancipated. Listen, I like Alexis Texas as much as the next guy and I'm not afraid to admit that if Isabella was diagnosed with type 2 chronic clymedia I would still raw non dry humping sex with non dry humping involvedErik Lehnsherr wrote...
I have to say it's one thing the Bible referenced well, the only reason people cover themselves unnecessarily (This is emphasised by the media too) is because they are ashamed, (Which Ironically was taken to mean the opposite for sone reason.) time to let go of that fear and the ridiculous social stigma that we should be ashamed of our true naked appearance.
No more dry-humping please.

They wouldn't have nudity just when you take off your armor, FYI. Even the Witcher 2 doesn't do that. The only nudity would only be for the sex scenes.Wulfram wrote...

And who cares if the game gets attention amongst the media. As long as it's rated for adults then no one can do anything to Bioware. If children get ahold of it then it'll be the fault of the parents for buying M rated games for their children or the retailer for selling an M rated game to a minor.

yep slaughtering 1000's of people in games is ok but nudity s not, what a world we live in.
I meant in games in general. Look at Mass Effect Shepard kills way more than that.

it is not marketed for kids and it is upto the parents to decide if the kid should play it or not. I am 21 now and when the first halo came out I played it because I was allowed to. if a kid plays the witcher 2 though I think something is wrong cause that game is beyond graphic. that said if a game is rated m it is for adults and thus shouldn't have to be careful about kids playing it since without an adult buying it they can't legally get it.Jadebaby wrote...

something people forget about is that ME1 was made in 2007 and times have changed since then. god of war had nudity and many others do now so that isn't really the issue. plus any publicity is good publicity and it doesn't effect their salesSerenityRebirth wrote...
Censorhip bars/pixilation are just as awkward. To me, it has a humourous/eye rolling feel to them. I think subtle camera angles would be better. Imply that they are naked, and that they are intimate without showing anything. Many movies do it this, especially PG-13 movies. I think they had it right in the right Mass Effect game, but I also remember the backlash, and I'm guessing that that is the reason why underwear sex as become a staple...
