I presume M25 doesn't want any sex or nudity in DAI. shrugs. Ok with me but I doubt that will be the case. I would't be upset if there was none and I wouldn't be upset if it was as graphic as TW2. I'm interested in a well told story, that trumps all else.

Why does one have rule out the other? Besides, we do have to do for one approach in the end anyways.

The twist near the end of DAO with the Dark Ritual was great and i took it honestly but full frontal nudity isn't necessary to the plot at all and adds nothing considering we know they had sex, the only purpose it would serve would be for people to get off on it

Exactly.  I don't want or need to see anything very explicit in a 20 second romantic interlude, but if it's an adult game with adult characters in adult relationships it needs to be handled appropriately.  Everybody's basically doing the same thing anyway, and to cover it up with lingerie fig leafs (silly) or replace it with some hasty fully-clothed foreplay (laughable) is to underestimate the maturity of Bioware's audience--assuming that's possible on BSN.

I'd rather a fade to black, or even a train thundering into a tunnel, than whatever combination of pixels, pasties, g-strings, and semi-permeable plate armor the devs will concoct to navigate that perilous course between the thought police and the marketing department.

They should do what they did with Liara in ME3. Liara has a nude model-



But as you can see, she lacks certain "details" of anatomy. I would prefer Bioware just do the grown-up thing and just make the actual nudity and not shy away from it when Dragon Age is already the equivalent of an R-rated movie. But if they won't go that far, this would be better then underwear dry humping or mosaics. All they need to do is do what they do with Liara and use clever camera angles so they don't show how they lack features.

I agree for having a bit of nudity for romance situations and things of that nature. But nothing too graphic, what BW did with Liara's romance was nice.

Edit: I don't see why they shy away from making nipples on females. They did it in Origins with Broodmother, and The Mother. Sure those females weren't attractive (well broodmother wasn't, the mother in awakening has an air of attractiveness in a slight goth way;)) but anyway, they had nipples about eight of them to be exact.

It wasn't about the nudity at all, actually, it was just because of a baldfaced lie about Mass Effect being some sort of sex romp where you could have graphic sex all the time with whomever you please.

In any case, I think a fade to black is preferable over underwear sex. Underwear sex is preferable over pixels.

They might as well just cut the whole sex part out. Alot of people just can't get over the fact that a sexual romantic relationship might require a bit of skin. It doesn't need to be bordering on a porno or anything, but if a developer is going to make a M rated title, and focus on a romantic rated R game, then people need to understand that rating means alittle more than a letter in the alphabet. It's pointless, and rather stupid to try to force the sex aspect if you're not gonna do anything genuine about it. I remember laughing out loud the first time I played Origins, and saw the underwear sex scene, I mean really?? If the developer is against adding nudity, then they need to stop the sex scene altogether. If they are going to HAVE to have some kind of sexual aspect, they just need to go "fade to black" before anything "offensive" and "appalling" happens.

It goes back to the old comparison that people always used to make. Severing body parts, and blood everywhere is fine. But if theres even a HINT of sex then the world is coming to an end.

I know too that alot of kids play the games underage. While it's not cool for them to do that, it's not the developers fault that kids are getting their hands on these games. It falls on the parent, not anyone else.

As I said I believe it's already settled about sex. It's unrealistic to ask the developers to stop what they've been doing in the past. It's unrealistic to expect fade to black as well. I expect a lot of camera angles combined with discarded clothing scenes and that will have to be good enough.

Begin exchanging various hentai and fan fiction - oriented porn links amongst yourselves. Some nice juicy n greasy 2 GB zip file, pile of classy napkins, bit of lube and a quiet afternoon would reduce activity in these threads by 47% or so. It is actually entirely possible Bioware offers the Group -network subforum functions specificially for this reason. Dragon Age 2 porn.Begin creating, producing, sharing and consuming it.

The love scenes in DA:O were pretty tasteful and tame  IMO. I have no problem with nudity - I also appreciated the love scene with Triss in The Witcher 2..
 
What I did find silly were the love scenes in DA:2 - With the exception of Merrill everyone else was fully clothed! Really?.

Agreed. I hate the double standard we see these days. We see extreame acts of violence in games these days and we hear nothing about it. But the very momment you show such things and people are up in arms. I for one  dont care either way if they show anything. I do care however that people see the need to to be vocal whenever tbis subject is brought up. Think about this. It is kids we fear that will be corrupted by this sort of thing. I would wager these kids would not have the time nor the patience to go through the story and build a relationship with the desifed character for a 30-25 sec scene. So honestly we have little to worry about.

Agreed. I hate the double standard we see these days. We see extreame acts of violence in games these days and we hear nothing about it. But the very momment you show such things and people are up in arms. I for one  dont care either way if they show anything. I do care however that people see the need to to be vocal whenever tbis subject is brought up. Think about this. It is kids we fear that will be corrupted by this sort of thing. I would wager these kids would not have the time nor the patience to go through the story and build a relationship with the desifed character for a 30-25 sec scene. So honestly we have little to worry about.

Uh, we do hear stuff about violence, the NRA blames gun violence on Videogames, so does the government and the media now and they want violent videogames done with completely
