Hello everyone. I was just replaying DA:O with a Rogue and decided to spec into the Bard class. Previously I only really had it on Leliana.
Anyway, I see this ability and it seems to be just a stun. Fair enough. But there are times I use it on an enemy and the enemy starts attacking other creatures. I'm not complaining, because it's of great use on enemy mages (aka enjoy the 3 Chain Lightning spam to the face), but I wanted to know if this was normal behavior.
Thanks. ~_^

No, I don't have that yet.
I've used Distraction on a blood mage during that one quest in Denerim, he proceeds to turn on his allies (who gladly murder him for me).

Distraction will cause your target cause your target to be dazed - which is functionally the same as the talent Disorient. As well the enemies of the target (ie your party) have their threat level reduced to 1 (so the target may not attack you)
Its not a disabling crowd control, it affects mob behavior in terms of target selection. its a very useful spell to use when a mob is beating on one of your squishies and you want it to go back to beating on the tank.
I don't know why the blood mage turned on his allies. Its like he attacked the nearest greatest threat level creature, ignoring your party as your threat level was so low. Weird.

Yes, I'm thinking it might be a glitch. Not that I mind. A "Confusion" spell is nice to have for my Stealth Rogue.
It hasn't worked on any yellow/orange threat level creatures though.

^How many points do you have in cunning at present? The enemies need to go through a resistance check whenever you use distraction; you'd need more cunning for elites and higher ranked enemies.
