Still love the game, but that's one of the elements that sticks in my craw.

Nobody seems to get the point, I guess my title is a bit misleading, I have no problem with fighting Cerberus itself, I'm all for that, I just think its so dumb how there are so many Cerberus armors and weapons and yet no Alliance Armor and ZERO Spectre gear. To me it doesn't make sense for Shepard to fly around the galaxy in Cerberus armor!David7204 wrote...
You've got to have some kind of human enemy with guns to fight a significant number of times with. Fighting husks for 35 hours straight is boring.
Well for me running around with Geth weaponry makes a lot more sense than sporting Cerberus armor. I do however agree with you about the armor customization. The customization in ME1 was awesome and I would have loved that if they brought it back in sort of the same style as the weapo mods. For instance you slapped on an extra shield mod and it actually augmented the way your shield pack looked in-game.Megaton_Hope wrote...
TBH, I felt like there was "Too Much Cerberus" beginning about halfway through Mass Effect 2. When it became apparent that the game doesn't incorporate a "give the Illusive Man a middle finger, steal ship" option. Right around the end of the Collector Ship mission would have been ideal. I would really have gotten behind that.
In terms of their armor and weapons...Eh. You can wear stuff manufactured by Geth in the first game. They have access to a lot of advanced technology, so why not? Yeah, flying their colors is tacky, but still.
Personally, I like the armor customization idea the best, but more the way it is in ME2 than in ME3. I'd really much prefer, in general, if shields and armor plates and ammo packs were actually discrete components, such that you upgrade your shield by buying the right shield parts and installing them. Like, I really like the idea floated in one of the upgrades in the first game, to have a Virtual Intelligence monitor your shield strength in real time. Or some of the research upgrades offer things like multiple redundant shield "cores." And the brands offering different bonuses, like resistance to fire/ice/biotics, or plain thicker armor plates, or reductions in your cooldown timers, that's good. What I'd like to see particularly, re: DLC armors, is a base armor system to which customizable parts can be mounted. And never an always-on helmet again.
Oh yeah definitely, ok one thing you gotta know is that with me, whenever I talk about armor, I mean it in a customizable set. I hate the armors that are a single set, I think everything should be split up in parts. Honestly, the more customization, the better. And yes, to add on to what you said about chaning colors, it would have been cool to have a customization option that let you designate a faction for the armor. So for example, you could take Cerberus Assault Armor and the default for it would have Cerberus logo, colors, etc, but then you could choose to change the insignia on it to be N7, Special Forces, Spectres, or any other faction.Majin Paul wrote...
I agree, especially about the downplay of Spectres, they seemed to go really quiet after you finally become one.
While I don't actually wear sets, I prefer customising my armour, I would have at least liked some Alliance Armour/Spectre armour, or at least the option of altering the cerberus sets by changing the colours and logo.
GAH!! THIS AGAIN! Looks like I REALLY NEED to change my title... I agree with you, Cerberus as an enemy is not an issue here. I loved the Geth in ME1, I loved the Collectors and mercs in ME2, and I love Cerberus, Reapers, Geth, Cat6, and whatever else in ME3. What I do not love is the fact that Shepard is an Alliance, N7 marine, Spectre, hero guy/girl and an disproportionate amount of his armors and weapons are Cerberus-related. Doesn't make any sense to roll around in the colors of the enemy.Helios969 wrote...
Totally disagree...I love shootin' me some Cerberus.
Seriously though...it's a videogame. A certain degree of repetition is in order. Every game I've ever played had the same 3-5 enemies to kill over and over. I feel between Cerberus and the Reaper forces that ME3 delivered pretty well.
The issue I'd like addressed for future games are the way enemies spawn. Play the game through once, have enemies spawn in different locations with differing tactics...sometimes different ones too. The same sort of logic could be applied to the environment...hallways rearrange...doors in different places. Might help keep the combat fresher, longer. Right now I know where and what type of enemies will pop up at every location. It'd be nice if enemies adapted to your tactics as well.
THANK YOU! hahahaha, someone who read the post! Also, good choice in guns, the Valkyrie is what I roll with as well. Also you don't have to apologize for that! I think a lot of the guns have very convoluted weights to them. You're talking about the AT-12 Raider right? The thing I think is funny about that gun is that it looks so small you know? It looks like it should be a lighter shotgun. And don't even get me started with the whole thermal clip thing. I'm like Conrad Verner in that one convo in ME3 where he's like "wait, we got rid of umlimited ammo? Why the hell would we do that?!"kaff33nd wrote...
I couldn't agree more with OP's sentiment. It's probably my biggest gripe with ME3 from an RPG point of view. Mt Shep is Alliance through and through, and wears the Alliance officer uniform as casual wear. It really grates on me that there's no N7 or SPECTRE armours in SP. At least I have the Valkyrie.
My second biggest complaint is that my favourite shotgun weighs a tonne and holds only 2 rounds (fires 2 shots before requiring a new thermal clip). I feel like I may as well have a 20th century double-barrelled shotgun. Sorry for going off-topic OP.
See for me this is a simple issue with the game itself. We should just be allowed the ability to brand our armors with the factions we want. It should be a feature of the game. Other players and I shouldn't have to go out of our way to mod these things into the game.Skullheart wrote...

Another one of my gripes, James, Ashley, Kaiden, and Liara all get Cerberus armors that are retextured to be either Alliance, or Spectre-themed... But Shepard? NAHHHHHHH!Rikketik wrote...

But yeah, I don't get it either. Especially because all the Cerberus DLC armor is already available in Alliance (or at least neutral) colours, as multiplayer characters such as the Demolisher wear it. Maybe BioWare was afraid they would be called lazy?
Another thing: Liara's From Ashes armor bears the Alliance insignia. She isn't even part of the Alliance, but she gets to wear its colours. Shepard can be considered one of the leaders of the Alliance in ME3 and what does s/he get? Cerberus or mercenary armor.
Excellent, just excellent.
Well in the first Mass Effect game, there was actually Spectre armor and weapons. In ME2: Liar of the Shadow Broker, Tela Vasir wore Spectre armor and it was clearly distinct from any other set in the game. As for Alliance weapons, that's no my issue, I agree that if not specified, they're most likely Alliance or at the very least, military. There is however, no available Alliance armor for Shepard, which I wish there was.David7204 wrote...
Well, there's only about a hundred Spectres. It would be kind of silly for a company to design and manufacture equipment for them alone. They'd never make a profit.
As for Alliance weapons...I just assume that weapons that aren't explicitly stated to have been manufactured by Cerberus, the asari, turians, salarians, quarians, or krogan ARE the Alliance weapons.

Well at least we had some N7 gear, but when it comes to spectre stuff forget it nothing. Since ME2 I have been Complaining about not having Spectre gear, instead we had some N7 stuff and now it's all about Cerberus. I wonder why we even walking around the whole game calling ourself spectre agents.

Yeah I don't mind the N7 stuff since Shepard is an N7 but all the Cerberus gear would have made sense one game ago. Funny thing is that our squadmates can get these armors in alliance colors. Heck Liara even has an alliance logo on hers and yet we can't? I know I am late to this thread but I just agree with the sentiment. I know they are done with DLCs but if they do ever decide to release little armor or appearance pack DLCs no more Cerberus stuff please. Could have used it back in ME 2. The closest I can get to alliance gear is coloring my N7 armor blue

You would think that with the first appearance pack being named #1, Bioware would've made another one before or right after Citadel DLC

Maybe they were planning to and something changed. I wonder though if they ever considered giving us alliance or spectre gear.

The Ajax Armor would've look much better as N7/Alliance
And would even sexier if it was Spectre armor lol
