I'd imagine lots of people (Around 65% based on the infograph) started with ME3 and with a default, male Shep. That's why the percentage difference will be so high/

the Wrex number would support the notion that ME3 brougt a lot of new players.

As would using the Insanity completion and players completed a transfered save. It's hard to be precise of couse.

I tried insanity once.. lasted about 0.2 nano-seconds... probably explains my dependency on lore'n stuff...

Give it another try, insanity is the most intense experience in the game. You feel very good when you get through hard levels.

actually I lied about once.. trust me.. I'm a more cerebral Shep.. hand eye coordinated? Not so much...more goo than true shootist.. Probably why I like the ending as being not so much a boss fight..

It certainly looks that way since a high percentage never got to meet Wrex in ME3-though some killed him off in ME1.

If this is accurate, it would appear Bioware got their wish-new fans, so they couldn't care less about legacy fans.  Great news for the third game in a series with a continuing story.

Yeah, this too. I've been planning to do a full trilogy playthrough with femShep (has never done that), but after the 3rd game... that will never happen.

not me, I spent money on a VG, I'm play'n it.. the hell with statistics..lol

all the grumble bugging is just a waste of mental energy. Besides, I'm gonna go on a lore mission, seek out new leads, go where no Shep has gone before. The game needs more lore..cannot have enough of that wonderful stuff!!

I think that from within the bioware heart of hearts, they wanted Sheps to hook up with Liara and have blue kids for ME future tense.. Liara is so... clingy..lol

(later to give up on the idea tho..maybe...just say'n ;)

I spent almost 800 hours in multiplayer... just saying. I got my money's worth, just not from what I initially bought the game for. Which is sad, I guess, but that's the way it is, it's not that I'm harboring some kind of a grudge, it's just over, the end. The 3rd game has broken and gutted the universe, imo, so there's really no point in another replay.

But I don't want that to turn into another ME3 lamentation thread - what's done is done. I, however, feel kind of vindicated, knowing that the femShep cult is still languishing in the same old limbo, and all the publicity that they clamored for, hasn't made a ounce of difference. Call me petty now.

Isn't the default ME2 game Wreax and not Wrex.  I think it just means that a lot people didn't play ME1, and started with ME2, then it was just conpunded in ME3 with some new players. Same with so few Kaiden's because the default is the VS of the opposite sex IIRC.  So if most people play Male Shepard more people would have Ashley alive.

Was the Genesis feature even on the Xbox when ME2 came out or was it just the PS3, I don't know I play on PC.

Does it really matter that much? Most people play through a game once. Actually most people don't even finish their games.

I dunno,  think it's more just about any game/story/movie. We've kind of been there done that, so it's off to see other coming attractions. Human nature. More so than contempt for endings that seem to lack lore basis and futility as canon. Many seem to hover over their frustration of not having their canon canonized. I can understand that one tho.

The next story related to the MEU will be interesting to find Bioware  un complicating the 'fini' of ME with a new start.. I don't think they will myself, but I've been wrong before, it's rare but happens. lol

that's funny you mentioned that... I've got like four other supposed 'super cool' games of old that I bought on sale, haven't finished any of those. Stupid ME has me fawning over it, in comparison, those seem simplistic.

Kind of weird now that I think of it. Image IPB

friggen renegades .. heheh

I liked the way he talked... besides I needed him to cure the genophage at the time, never could be angry with an absent minded professor... The genophage was kind of evil really..so Mordin was a mixed bag of logic vs proportion.

He was one of my favorites in 2 - always logical, but still, he had a heart and consulted it often. he was ne of the few whom Shepard couldn't just "convicne" - I always liked that. Was just kind of baffled by him doing a complete 180 for no reason at all. Besides, I couldn't till the last moment believe that I would actually, for real, shoot Mordin. And then... I did.

Thought that I would do another playthrough later and save him, but... see above.

Tell me about it. If it was different kind of industry, I think that Kaidan and similar content could be cut out as a waste of effort and resources. Here though, we get a chance to represent different preferences, express ourselves through different characters. So I'm happy he was there for my FShep since day one (and still good quality content).

You wouldn't meet Wrex in the ME3 campaign if he was dead from ME1.

After all the small talk of 'characters' and then I think of ME# (can't actually post a "4" there, as it's illegal in the BSN ;) I'd guess it'll have to be a next step in evolution..

Only 13% play as the default Shepard for ME2, and about 50% imported.

Yeah I meant to write  just male but then looked at the graphic and for some reason assumed it was reffering to the default guy :pinched::pinched:

My point was more that we can sort of extrapolate the data and guesstimate that a considerable about of players picked up only ME3 having not played ME2.

I can't see how the data presented in this infographic means people only played ME3 with the data they give us.  To me it shows a lot of people could have skipped ME1 because of Wrex and how much the games changed.  Of course past information released does echo your point with how few people actually complete games since only 40% of the people who played ME1 finished it and 56% of the people finished ME2, of course the people that don't finish those games could still buy the sequels.
