Wasn't it something like EA wanted ME3 revenue in the 2011 financial year?

I think it becomes pretty obviously once you get to Thessia, seems as though squad dialogue is hard to come by and there's just generally less TLC going on. There's an oddly hollow feeling before you even get to that last mission, like the game ended before it actually ended hah.

Yes.

Game files alone have a host of incomplete sidequests.

It needed at least another 6 mo in the cooker.

Maybe, also "hey, who needs a good SP campaign when we have multiplayer? That's what will sell the game!" I don't know how big ME3's budget was but I know a good chunk of it went to MP.

And let's not forget "we want new players to jump in at the end so we don't need to flesh out anything from 1 & 2 in any sort of coherent manner."

Yep, like ME1, it could have used more time in development

Sometimes I wish Bioware was owned by 2K instead of EA.

Having the problems show up post-Thessia would only be the case if game sections are worked on sequentially. That isn't the process.I think you're projecting there. I suppose we could try to count stuff if we could agree on what needs to be counted.

As for the topic,I think it's more accurate to say that the project was mismanaged rather than that it lacked resources

And without the projected MP revenue, ME3 would get the same budget? Why?

ME1 was rushed? Wow, I learn something new everyday.
Yes ME3 was rushed... And that's me being optimistic about why it was just so bad (I actaully hated the game sadly... And no, not jut becuase of the endings). ME1 is way more forgivable if it was rushed becuase it established lore, meaning that the creators could cut what they wanted and introduce it later if they needed to. Then we get to ME3 and all that lore is either thrown out the airlock, completely forgotten, or simply wrong because it was not checked. Sloppy work Bioware, very sloppy.<_<

Perhaps, but it could have been much worse.

*Looks at DA2*

This question keeps popping up.

BW knew project schedule in advance, they failed to meet the deadline and asked more time, they got three months extension.

It could have been much worse. In some places it goes like, get it done or get out.

DA2 is perfection of gaming, compared to ME3.

Yes sadly......It always makes me wonder what it would have looked like if it was given an extra year or so in development

Drew written in Dar Energy ending.

Premise alone is even worse then what we got.

Rushed as heck. In the end, I blame EA primarily. Bioware made the decisions, but when it came down to it, something had to give. Sure, they can agree to do something in a set amount of time, but when you work for someone, how much say do you REALLY have? Are you going to say, "Give me a week and I'll get it done." when your boss is staring at you and suggesting that it gets done by the end of the day? Probably not if you value your employment status.

I know I'm idealistic, but honestly, this game does not feel finished at all. It is suffering from the shift to shorter games in recent history peppered with DLC for extra cash.

I saw this coming once I saw the terribad that was DA2. Just wish I didn't cling on to hope so much after everyone got me all hyped up for ME3. :( Shoulda just remained cynical.

Actual development of the game was similar to ME2 (Final Hours app says this) but with ME1 they had the Unreal engine to learn and modify for their use.

Very rushed, yes. I'd of happily of waited 6 months to another year (probably even more) if it meant we'd get a good game.

The problem with the ending doesn't start when you have to choose colors; It's starts the moment you set foot on earth.

There was of course the supposed issue where BW had to stop and almost restart the writing from scratch. This happened roughly a third of the way into development.

If that's true, then ME3's dev time is less than a year and a half.
