The other vocal person about aliens on board was Pressly, that I recall, that wasn't directly aimed at Nhilus anyway, and that was Spectre more than Turian, and we can see Pressly's growth on the subject, albeit a bit late, on his datapad at the Normandy Crash Site.

Edit:  Image IPB'd...

There's also the dick admiral guy who is waiting for Shepard at the Citadel docks and dresses down Shepard because the ship cost so much, blah blah, has aliens on it, blah blah.  I wanted a dialog choice so my Shepard could tell him that the ship wouldn't exist at all if not for the turians so any concern in that direction is crap.

My last Renegade Shep didn't even let him board.  That was fun.Image IPB

I'll give that option a go next time.  I usually have grinned and born it or try to kiss up to the superior officer.  Next time I'll just go full Spectre on his ass.

I was going to replay anyway to try out the huge hi-res ME1 texture bundle I downloaded.  This little thing will just be something to try different.

I just read that inspite of the size of the file bundle (textures come out to ~700MB) the time to load/start the game is only about 30 seconds or so.  We'll see.  Right now it takes 7 minutes for me to get ME3 started with all the texmod textures I load.  With permanent changes to some textures in ME3 I will be loading fewer texmod textures so it should speed up (maybe just 5 minutes!).

As for Ash...I use a few Ashley retextures via Texmod for her. There's the Ashley Face Restored tpf file that makes her face look a bit more like in ME1 (still the nice long hair). It makes her lips less glossy, gives a nicer skin texture, etc. Then there's a texture that modifies her default uniform and her armor. Both hi-res, both nice. There's hi-res Ajax armor (Cat 6) textures, nice Grunt and Wrex armor, Quarian (male and female) armor, Tali default (with more visible face), a Liara LotSB face, etc.

There's a mod bundle for ME1 that covers a LOT in the game at www.moddb.com/mods/mass-effect-1-new-texture-updatesimprovements-mod/downloads/fullpack

That's the download link.  If you go to the summary page you can see image examples.  Nice.

For the ME1 bundle you will also want to download LAA (large address app) and run it.  The bundle requires that ME1 be able to address more RAM than it normally can as a 32bit app and LAA makes it so it can.  It's easy.  You run LAA, pick ME1's exe, and apply it.  Now it can load the full bundle of textures without crashing or acting weird.  LAA is available at the same location.

Oh...continued reading and it appears you will need to apply LAA to both texmod AND ME1's executable to get the FULL hi-res ME1 bundle to load.

What bothered me about Ash with Vega is that i headcanon since Leviathan that Vega would end up with Ann Bryson and now Ash is just being a home wrecker :D

I have my own headcanon for an Ash/squaddie romance, now I headcanon that said squaddie ****blocks Vega at the party

Seems like Vega charm is irresistible. Every woman wants him or bullies him to have sex with her. Do girls normally go for men like that?

Edit: Wierd, I realised I am asking this as a woman, but I really wonder.

Frell no, Vega's frakking hideous and his personality (apart from his banter with other squaddies) doesn't do much for me.

Zaeed, Wrex and Garrus on the other hand...

ME1 Ash was pretty cool.

Yeah, I hate what Bioware did with ME3 Ash.  I wished she was more like ME1 Ash.  Seems like Bioware only cared about letting her hair down and making her look pretty.

Only seems like? They confirmed they only cared about making her look "pretty" in the art book - "We let her hair down and gave her sex appeal"

Ash and Vega are meant for each other.

Ash and Vega are one of the worst pairings in the game, Vega was seriously the only person BW could find to hook Ash up with?

I think all potential non-Shep Normandy pairings are pretty bad.

Well, except Gabby/Ken, but they were literally made for each other.

Donnelly's a skeevy perv, every convo seemed to be him making inappropriate convos about female squaddies, I preferred him when he was making remarks about kicking reapers in the daddy bags

Garrus/Tali works for me, they're both just so awkward that it's perfect.

Well, when I YouTubed the scene, it definitely did feel awkward, I'll give it that.

Seriously though, I got the impression that that pairing happened because "they're both dextro" and "they've been with Shepard in all three games" which are pretty bad reasons for romance. I always felt like they had more of a sibling-type relationship than anything else (which is exactly what they do have if you're romancing one of them; in that situation their pre-Earth conversation is something that seems much more fitting and better-written).

Either way, though, Joker/EDI win the "worst romance" award. That one's downright creepy.

Apparently someone at Bioware said at a convention that the reason they paired Garrus and Tali was because 'they can eat the same food'

Ugh, I'd rather see Ash and Garrus hook up than see them with Vega and Tali (Garrus told Tali that the quarians brought the conflict with the geth on themselves (incidentally this was AFTER the elevator convo where he sympathised about the quarians being stuck in their suits) and she threatened him with her shotgun in ME2)

Adoramei wrote...

You know what pairing I really thought might work? Bear with me here. Vega/Cortez. Vega is really, really REALLY weird about sleeping with Shepard. And seems a bit over-compensatory when it comes to the flirting.. Okay, okay.. I roll my eyes every time people make up pairings too that aren't of the characters' orientation, but Vega really struck me as.. well.. not serious about the flirting. In more ways than just his career being at stake.

I'm not a fan of Vega but I like his banter with Steve, I could see them as a couple

I'm not sure the redesign of Ash in ME3 into being more "sexy" is really out of character for her. It's pretty well established that she has a girly side, so I can see her letting her hair down. It could also be a sign of her being more relaxed of where she is in her career, since she's not stuck as Gunnery Chief anymore and knows Shep is alive. Shep really is the one that keeps Ash going especially if you romance her.

I would have preferred a ponytail instead and they could have done better with her outfit too

Good point, her default blue suit wasn't terribly great in terms of armor, but once you get her back you can change her suit into more armor.

Ponytail would have been good during combat scenes, her hair down outside of it.

But her Alt appearances annoyed me in ME3, like seriously Bioware

Yeah, there's so many ways Bioware screwed up Ash ever since ME1, it kind of sucks for Ash fans that stuck with her.

wow this thread is still going on.......  Really are you speaking for all ash fans?    Everyone is entitled  to their  opinion   but it amazes me  how  people  use such  broad terms like its a general fact.

I personally  think everything they did to Ash  was  an improvement  i cheered when they  gave   her more" sex appeal" because she deserved it  . Not saying  she didn't look attractive  in ME1  but   her  armor  was too bulky and she  seems so  stiff  at times.

My  only  wish  about ME3  makeover was    one  of  her  outfits   was  more similar  to Mirandas then any of them  turned out to be.   Her  hair  down  new make up and "lighter" lighter  personality   shows  the softer  side  of   her personality.

IMO  she is still the same  Ash that she was in ME! all they did  was  let  her be  was more of a WOMAN  which she desrved and  gave her a lighter  personality which  was refreshing

Not to mention that  they  did  give you the  option for full armor with helmet  for those  who   imo  are  way too picky about everything  being  completely authentic to  real life.

IMO the makeover bashing  people  are  just as comical to me  as the  ones  who try to   prove that   Ash is a  racist.

In  closing

IMO Ash herself is better in everyway ME3.   Not only is she an awsome "person"  who speaks  her mind honestly  she may  not always be polictuially correct  but she  is not  even in the same sector  of  being a racist . Also  overall she One of the best characters in a general sense  and still has   a stong sexy  look but is stll able to  kick ass.

Bioware  Ash as a person  was  one   of your victories in ME3  ...too bad   you didnt do well on her content

My only grip with her in ME3 is that she needed a better scene in the Citadel DLC if you romanced her. You are completely right on everything else.

Also, are you typing on your phone? That's some weird spacing in ur post, I am curious as to why that is.

That's what I meant when I said they screwed up Ash in ME3, they didn't give her more content.  Such as more content in the Citadel DLC.  Or Bioware having the VS go to the hospital just so they could drag out the trust issue unnecessarily long (but that's a whole other story).  I do like what they did with her makeover.  She seems more grownup.  She also seems like less of a pessimist which is good, but I guess knowing Shep came back from the dead and that Hero man has her back helps a lot with that.

I just would have liked to have seen more content from Ash instead of her being stuck in one room on the Normandy all the time.

Ahh yeah MS Office has a tendency to screw up the formatting when copy and pasting directly from Word to a web browser.  I always have to copy and paste it first to notepad, and then copy and paste from notepad to a web browser to fix the formatting.
