Citadel DLC is the final nail in the coffin on Ash's character...

Parts of Ash's characterization are vastly underrepresenatated in ME3 (which is an understatement), but what we have, in main game and Citadel, is very much Ash.

Also... she gets "girly girl" with her sister in ME1 or did you miss that part?

In any case, what I find most annoying is how Bioware CLEARLY wants/expects you to go for Liara. They shove he in your face repeatedly, as if asking, "Are you SURE you don't want a little piece of Liara instead of your current choice? Are you SUUUUUURE? How about now? Wanna change your mind NOW?" That continues throughout the game and is clearly there at the beginning of ME3 on Mars just starting off.
[/quote]
See I never understood this complaint, I am currently replaying my Femshep with garrus play through and not once, ever, do I feel Liara is being forced on me relationship wise, more she comes off as a close friend (which she would be after you now...literally helping resurect shepard).

What is not fair though, is that the other squads each get a moment to shine, except for either Ash or Kaidan, since their moment of glory is Virmire, and whoever gets the glory ends up getting nuked.

Plus, I like how she simplifies Shepard's life. You know... "Let's go drinking more". Shepard needs to let his hair down more often. She is a good squadmate for a paragon.

Ash was perfect for Cerberus. She was a terrible racist and anti-alien. Her opposition to Cerberus made absolutely no sense to me. After saving her ass on Virmire the least she could have done was help Shep in his fight against Collectors, but no, she suddenly develops a moral conscience.Sovereign24 wrote...

I never liked Ash. Always being so butch in ME 1 acting she's born with both reproductive genetalia, then trying to be the "better person" in ME 2 by abandoning me when I asked her to join me in Cerberus for the greater good!
When ME 3 Finally came along I figured THIS IS the LAST STRAW!!! Always questioning my motives, not really trusting my abilties as a captain, but quick enough to gloat to other soldiers.. going like.. "Do I know Sheppard... Yeah, I knew (Screwed) him"
Biatch please... You've abandoned me more times than a Red headed step child. Of all the characters she is my most hated supporting character in HIStory. She's such a TOOL!
Lol how dare she not join a terrorist organisation. The nerve!

Being a pass out on the floor drunk really didn't sit well with me...and really seemed out of character for Ashley.
Now she's a drunk sl*t on top of that...which is also very out of character.
It's like they really want you to hate her character.

I've hated her character since the beginning of ME1, when I explained to her my situation on Akuze, and how and why I survived.
She told me it was because of 'God' that I lived. Her god had nothing to do with it.
So yeah, I've always hated Ashley.

The out of character "sexy" redesign really bothered me. She's a shadow of her former self, a shame because I really love the character.

I don't know about all the "nail in the coffin" business, but Ash was definitely a weaker character in ME3.

I don't think her redesign is out of character at all...but her aforementioned actions are.

I think Ashley's problems with Shepard are just a result of short sighted writing, and and just another asinine excuse to leave out ME1 Squadmates(Tali and Garrus only made it becuase they were new romances)

Ok BW did not insult women, I think the existence of Femshep confirms this. Also we don't know how people act at parties, so saying she was out of character isn't accurate. But for me personally I have disliked Ash ever since ME2, referring to Shep as a God and then turning around and calling you a sell out and traitor all in the span of a minute was ridiculous.JasonPogo wrote...
So an unromanced Ash will spend the party being flirty and giggly with Vega... Did anyone who worked on this game even play ME1? I could buy that Ash would have a one night stand with Vega. But the whole girly girl act is SO not her. Everything Bioware did with her character is just an insult to her fans and women in genral.

Well, to be honest, I do agree with you on some points, but I firmly believe that there is no excuse to behaviour, "under the influence". You only do what you are capable of sober but with less inhibition. It was more of a characterisation of drunkeness than of women in general. (I do feel like it was lazy writing.) But yeah. The whole Horizon conversation doesn't really sit well with me either. Even Kaidan's essential, "be careful, Shepard." felt a lot better than Ashley's response. But it was still weird and left you feeling kinda helpless. I guess that was the point.

Racist, no. Skeptical, yes. She trusted aliens to primarily look out for themselves before looking out for humanity (in her dog metaphor back in ME1, we humans are the dog, whereas the aliens are the dog's owner). On Virmire she demonstrated not just a willingness, but an excellence when working with the Salarians. If Kirahee dies, she'll take command of the Salarians and do it well. Also, if you have her with you on the Citadel, note her very angry response to Terra Firma protesting and using Shanxi as a symbol to push their agenda. These are not the actions of a racist - they're more like the actions of a pessimist.
Cerberus, on the other hand, is a terrorist organisation, not just known for promoting anti-alien agendas (up to and including political assasinations), bombings, and desiring human dominance, but also a recognised enemy of the Normandy crew during ME1. These are the guys that unleashed husks on one human colony, thorian creepers on another, and rachni on a third! She's a born and bred Alliance soldier, she's very by-the-book - I can fully understand her dislike of Cerberus, her anger at Shepard (for not contacting her and for working with them), and her distrust that it even is Shepard.
The scene wasn't written very well ("Hi Ash, how have you been?" Ugh...). The idea of Ash being angry, however, is very in character.
OT: For the vast majority of the Mass Effect series, we've seen Ash during her up-time, her time on-duty. This is her down-time - which we've seen relatively little of. Perhaps this is merely who she is when she relaxes? I mean, the first time she starts spouting poetry it comes as a bit of a shock, but it's still perfectly in character.

actually,2 !!, but thats just becuase Tali and Garrus are Shepards most loyal friends
And from 1-2-3,its still the same concept, there is no excuse for them to leave out ME1 squadmates in ME2,and no excuse to leave out ME2 squadmates in ME3,and dont tell me recources becuase there is alot of stuff in ME3 I could do without, and there where 11-12 squadmates in ME2 has opposed to 6-7 in ME3,and ME3 took up 14gigs of my hard drive,ME2 only took up 12,so with 2 extra gigs, I only get half of the squadmates ?

Actually, her romance-only content was very well done in the DLC.
From the mid-combat meeting/banter at the beginning, to the drinking-and-brawling together, the dialogue throughout the party -politely avoiding each other but making suggestive comments regarding the "aftermath"- and the kiss on the forehead the morning after. It tells me, they're in a relationship for more than two weeks.
It all indicates that they're a team, they know and are accustomed with each other. As opposed to, well all the other romances, they're simply past being flirty.
So accuse me of interpreting the horrible truth wrong, but I'm very much okay with that.
I am actually okay with all of that except the crude pass during the drinking game. It just made my Shepard seem like such a neanderthal.
Well, that and Ash really isn't dressed to partake in a barfight
I have read of so many interesting bits with Ashley and James Vega in the DLC but simply cannot get them myself. Is it because my FemShep is with Kaidan? Will Vega do MascShep (who is with either akaidan or COrtez)>
