Better to just not let Wrex off Virmire, thus successfully deceiving the krogan when you choose not to cure the genophage.
Prefer intimidating a krogan battlemaster into backing down myself:devil:

Funny that...i thought the final nail in ashleys coffin was hammered in shortly after Virmire. Of course she wasn't in the coffin, she was scattered over 3/4s of Virmire itself...

I figured as much, and I knew that, but I don't think I'd wish death on anyone else's character. I'm not even sure I hate any of the characters.

There's enough of that going back and forth. It's not just the people who don't like Ashley.
Practically all of her personality traits I find offensive, personally. She never survives past Virmire on any of my games- even if I made a Renegade go of it. But despite my very vocal dislike for her, I respect her as a character for others to like. Because everyone's different. She's very "military". I just wish that some people didn't get all angry and start defending her tooth and nail because someone says that she has a very obvious personality trait that they don't want to be associated with approving of. So what? Big deal. She's not perfect, but isn't that what they like about her? Liking her for all that she is is being more of a fan than cherry picking to make her something greater than she is.
But I digress.
If peoples' vehment dislike for her bothers you, ignore them. They don't dictate how much you like her. Or rather, they shouldn't. If they shake your resolve, then there's something missing there to begin with.

i usually let kaiden die because his death actually does good (the biotic thing mentioned in the news) and i can't bare to hear the lies spewed by the news if ash dies (i.e make her not racist) and you get to kill her yourself in ME3 (result)

Oh, god. I know what you mean. Every time I hear that she got a statue built in her honour by the Salarians, I grit my teeth. But I let Kaidan live so he can continue to make a greater legacy during the course of his life than one grunt that died during one battle before the war really got rolling.

My desire to kill ash outweighs my desire to save kaiden (who i don't really care about)
sorry.

Haha. Your game, your rules.
I happen to like Kaidan a lot, personally, so my version works for me.

For being "military," she's awfully insubordinate. I wanted nothing more than to slap her upside the head in ME1, because that kind of crap would never fly on my boat. Lol.mtmercydave09 wrote...
I imagine the comments wishing death upon other characters (or similar to that effect) were the whole reason the character forum got locked 6 months ago in the first place. I'm just glad I wasn't around for that.
Yeah shes very military and very alliance first, so I can see how that would rub people the wrong way.
But yes I can see how people wouldn't like Ash, or some of the other characters for that matter. None of the characters are really perfect, they all have flaws, but that's what makes them jump out at us and makes them real to us. Heck even Shep isn't perfect even after all he does for the galaxy.
In the end we're all better off playing in a ME trilogy where the characters weren't all perfect. It'd be boring if they were all perfect.
So I can definitely respect people having differing opinions from my own about Ash, or any other character for that matter. I'll still defend Ash though because, that's just how my Shep and I roll.
That all being said about Ash, I think Garrus was my favorite character. Ash was just my favorite LI.

So, I guess I had to chime in to say that it's not her being military that rubs me the wrong way (I used to be, myself), it's the fact I know the *real* reason why she always got crap assignments...it was that mouth of hers. XD
While I definitely have no love for some characters, I definitely respect the opinions of the people who do like them. I think it's part of what makes ME great, because all of the characters appeal or don't appeal to people in different ways.
You know, the statue doesn't really bother me, as much as I don't like her. If, which I tend to do now, I leave her on Virmire, she does get a hero's death, and as such, she does deserve a statue. It's not like she didn't get the job done.Adoramei wrote...

So an unromanced Ash will spend the party being flirty and giggly with Vega... Did anyone who worked on this game even play ME1? I could buy that Ash would have a one night stand with Vega. But the whole girly girl act is SO not her. Everything Bioware did with her character is just an insult to her fans and women in genral.

C'mon. Tali ends up plastered on the floor of a bathroom (and that is with a quiet party). Traynor worries if she did...anything...embarrassing. It's all a joke.
I don't do the party until after I've locked in the romance with Ash so I don't run into the flirty thing. She gets crazy in another way if you go wild party too...only with you (Shepard). It's a JOKE.

Ash and Vega are one of the worst pairings in the game, Vega was seriously the only person BW could find to hook Ash up with?
