Agreed, so much Ash hate here.  Bioware didn't exactly do her any favors though.

Although technically, every character is in a coffin after the Citadel DLC unfortunately for us.  I don't see Bioware bringing anyone back.

I figured as much, and I knew that, but I don't think I'd wish death on anyone else's character.  I'm not even sure I hate any of the characters.

ME1 Ash was pretty cool.

Yeah, I hate what Bioware did with ME3 Ash.  I wished she was more like ME1 Ash.  Seems like Bioware only cared about letting her hair down and making her look pretty.

Especially since Bioware said before ME3 came out that we would be rewarded for staying faithful to Ash.

I still wouldn't pick anyone else though for my Shep.

There's enough of that going back and forth. It's not just the people who don't like Ashley.

Practically all of her personality traits I find offensive, personally. She never survives past Virmire on any of my games- even if I made a Renegade go of it. But despite my very vocal dislike for her, I respect her as a character for others to like. Because everyone's different. She's very "military". I just wish that some people didn't get all angry and start defending her tooth and nail because someone says that she has a very obvious personality trait that they don't want to be associated with approving of. If peoples' vehment dislike for her bothers you, ignore them. They don't dictate how much you like her. Or rather, they shouldn't. If they shake your resolve, then there's something missing there to begin with.

I imagine the comments wishing death upon other characters (or similar to that effect) were the whole reason the character forum got locked 6 months ago in the first place.  I'm just glad I wasn't around for that.

Yeah shes very military and very alliance first, so I can see how that would rub people the wrong way.

But yes I can see how people wouldn't like Ash, or some of the other characters for that matter.  None of the characters are really perfect, they all have flaws, but that's what makes them jump out at us and makes them real to us.  Heck even Shep isn't perfect even after all he does for the galaxy.

In the end we're all better off playing in a ME trilogy where the characters weren't all perfect.  It'd be boring if they were all perfect.

So I can definitely respect people having differing opinions from my own about Ash, or any other character for that matter.  I'll still defend Ash though because, that's just how my Shep and I roll.

That all being said about Ash, I think Garrus was my favorite character.  Ash was just my favorite LI.

For being "military," she's awfully insubordinate. I wanted nothing more than to slap her upside the head in ME1, because that kind of crap would never fly on my boat. Lol.

So, I guess I had to chime in to say that it's not her being military that rubs me the wrong way (I used to be, myself), it's the fact I know the *real* reason why she always got crap assignments...it was that mouth of hers. XD

While I definitely have no love for some characters, I definitely respect the opinions of the people who do like them. I think it's part of what makes ME great, because all of the characters appeal or don't appeal to people in different ways.

True shes pretty insubordinate, but the way I played Shep he liked her from the start so he just kind of played it off and rolled with it and picked on her for it.  I guess that's the good thing about it being a game though.  

You're right it's definitely what makes ME great.  It would get pretty boring if every single character was too likable or too perfect.  That and the forums wouldn't have anything to banter about lol.

You know, the statue doesn't really bother me, as much as I don't like her.  If, which I tend to do now, I leave her on Virmire, she does get a hero's death, and as such, she does deserve a statue.  It's not like she didn't get the job done.

It isn't a joke if it is unromanced playthrough.

In that case Ashley and Vega do hookup. Some dialogue might be played for laughs of course, but the events themselves are 'canon.'
