Best biotic character?

Used to love the hell out of the Drells, but eventually had to shelve them when 1. I got tired of running from ammo box to ammo box; The playstyle is really just that. and 2. More kits came out with grenades and I had to compete for them.
The Fury is the most robust of the biotics and with a solid build can cover many different playstyles. Want to be distance? DC and Throw. Primer for vanguards? DC. Detonator for Asari's, Throw. CQC, AF and Throw with teleports. The kit has the most synergy. While other biotics can handle some of the above as well, N7 Fury covers them all without being bound to grenades. Add in a Scorpion or Falcon and you get more staggers for CC as well.
It is now to the point where I can barely even play another biotic because I always go back to the Fury. The only time I dont is when I want to get some melee fun in with a Kro/Batguard, Kro Warlord, or Krogan Shaman.
This is not to say that the other kits do not have merit and "best" doesnt take into account the player, but for the most robust kit where every match is different and fun, you cant beat the N7 Fury imo.

Oh I definitely agree that he shouldn't have said that about a differing opinion. Also going back to this preference of mine, I don't think you can can call a character the best when it's reliant on gear that grants you the leeway to be reckless with grenades. I suppose best in this case is subjective. Tell me have you ever ran out of grenades and thermal packs in a game? I haven't its too much of a benefit as opposed to any other gear. Maybe geth scanner comes close but that's it.
You'd be surprised to know how fast I can spam those grenades, haha
I actually don't consider a game good if I don't run out of thermal packs, at least when playing a grenade character
But yes, I get your point. Grenade capacity is one of the most powerful things in the game. I'm quite glad of that though :innocent:

No the fury is great and is the best for constantly moving but any class that is dependent on a gear that increases your grenade capacity by 60-70% isn't the best. It's my own personal preference but I dislike grenade classes
Unless you're part of the elite and know what you're doing. Running a no fitnes/ 3 ranks of fitness fury build will get you killed on Gold and Platinum. Fury like most biotics is also dependant on gear and consumables to boost her damage lvls to match the DPS classes.
Drell's ability to spam 9 cluster grenades with over 1000 damage in a few seconds is what makes DPS/Grendade classes so powerful in the game. Pile ontop dmg reduction from reave and pull for unshielded cheap biotic explosions. With the Drell's fitness tree, which is one of the best in the game, apart from the Turians. He's easily one of the top tier characters and one of the easier ones to use at that. The Fury is harder to get the most out of.
Kind of true... My Fury build is a 6/6/6/0/6 since I like to focus on the blue bombs, gives me additional surivability, allows me to work well with other bios, and gives me flexibility of range. But it does take a bigger learning curve to play. You have to be solid on your maps and muscle memory on your evades. You also have to know where you can port and where you cant. There is also some lag issues that can impact Fury play and you rarely have the time to miss based on lag. But you can suceed in Gold without uber equipment, although i almost always wear gear.
For the Drell? MUCH easier to learn and play. And I would still be playing the Drell and did for a long time, if it wasnt for the dependance on Clusters. I also think the Fury kit has much better syngery since personally, I do not toss anything into Pull and I find it too situational. Playing drell adept made playing the N7 Fury much easier to learn as well.

Personally if I have to pick an adept to play with I generally go with either the drell or asari valkyrie.

Most effective overall: probably Fury
Most fun: Vanilla Human.

At low levels the human base adept is hard to beat. Singularity and Waep. Rinse and repeat. Whenever I promote I play human adept for the first two bronze matches.
You have got a lot to learn young one.

My personal fave is the batarian adept. I totally agree that some other kits (Drell, Fury) have better killspeed, but I can't deal with their squishiness properly myself. Warp is also a very good debuff for bosses. I know there's a lot of hate for batarians out here, but this is easily one of my top 3 kits.
The Slasher is a beast of a kit

The FUUURYYYY!
Out of all adepts, she´s the one I can fully rely on biotic powers and just forget my weapon.
have you tried human adept?
Human Adept is awesome. One of my loved kits too. Also almost no need to use weapon when playing her. I think I can still clear enemies quicker with Fury plus her teleport dodge is quite life saver. But HA is great, no doubt about that.

Human sentinel is at times overlooked as a quality adept as well.

963 games played leads me to believe I have a pretty good handle on this one. When rocking just two powers Singularity and warp are a pretty damn good combo. Low level players on bronze deal with plenty of unsheilded foes and Singularity ties them up nicely with a warp follow up blowing them to pieces. Even on protected foes the singularity does damage and primes them nicely for warp.

not 963 playing with that one kit though. But still I apologize for overlooking your first post. I was too quick on the response. So used to having to defend human adept on bsn for some reason. :blink:You were talking about playing the character not fully speced with JUST the two powers. I first thought you meant that human adept was only viable at lower levels and you only rinse and repeat those two powers..Musketeer1970 wrote...

IMO, everything else is blah. Fury is bad off-host, so that gets her disqualified (whereas the Valkyrie is still quite good off-host). The Drell Adept is kinda poopy on plat because you simply can't spawn nuke with the same effectiveness as on gold.
All the other adepts (and the human sentinels) suffer from having either crap abilities like Shockwave, or having projectiles for both primers and detonators. Super frustrating having half your **** dodged...no thanks.
And vanguards are bad on plat because too much of what you can charge can sync-kill you.
Kinda sad that looking at my list, 3 of the 4 kits involve priming with a biotic ability and then using your weapon to DPS. Just shows how weapon-centric the game has become.
Only biotic kit I've never tried but just realized could be good is the Slasher. On paper he could probably be the 5th biotic I play regularly, just have to try him out.

The Slasher is pretty great on Plat. Bit of a catch all, best played as a "biotic soldier" IMHO, and as part of a Biotic Death Squad. Ignore Lash, max all other skills, don't neglect his weapon passives, and run Warfighter + AR Amp with your heavy hitting AR of choice and you're good to go. Warp for debuffing and priming, cluster nades for CC dmg and dets. Add in solid weapon performance and he's pretty damn awesome.
