Clearly FemShep was a waste of Bioware resources...

I spend my days defending Mass Effect 3's RPG elements, classes, and customization. I try to convince people that a majority of people DON'T want a generic shooter experience. Then I come to find out that over half of the players in the data play as a soldier...the most barebones, stripped of anything truly RPG, class in the whole series.
Wouldn't people rather blow stuff up as a biotic, ramming into people over long distances? Wouldn't they want to sit back, eat popcorn, and watch as their drones terrorize the battlefield? Nope, we just want to shoot things >_____>

My only real fear with these stats is that the Soldier class was the most picked. REALLY?

Er..Me3 is an IMPROVEMENT.
In Me2, bioware stated that soldiers were the most popular choice 65% of the time.
Going from 65 to 50 is a hell of a jump....and I'm skeptical that ME1 was any different than Me2 in that regard...Again, BSN will give you a warped view of what was popular classes...
re: insanity
This is the same thing with insanity...given that only 4% of the general audience actually finished the game on insanity, I'm thinking that the game wasn't too easy for most people.
Again, the fact that many of the people that say "insanity is too easy" can also solo gold on the MP side, then yeah, I'm not sure we should bother with their opinion...

50% means Soldier is still far and away the most used class. 50%, whereas 5 other classes need to butt heads to reach that 50%. So yes, it's an improvement, but it still hurts.
Also Soldier only has ammo powers, and a power that makes aiming easier. Aside from bonus powers that's it. The only advantage to Soldier in ME3 is being able to use any OP gun at free will. And ME3 has a LOT of guns..
ME3 is an amazing game, despite BSN's claims. It's a shame that 50% of the people in the stats can't experience it to the fullest.
Then again the data is very loose. I doubt it accounts for every one who played ME ever, nor does it count the dozens of playthroughs people have claimed to have done in the Trilogy.

You have Samantha if your Femshep is into girls. Not a lot of room for different outcomes. So, maybe there are lots of femshep players out there, but once word got around how different romances played out, go discouraged from using her? I know I fall into this boat. I had 2 broSheps and 2 Femsheps. I imported my guys, but only one of my girls because of the romance factor. Thane died on me ;__;

18% might statistically be a minority but in practice that could mean hundreds of thousands of players or more.

It's like some people don't get it. If developers start excluding options based on their smaller popularity, guess what, you will one day find out that YOUR favorite options/class/feature got removed. So sure, go ahead, complain about wasting resources in a game that (at least is suppoused to be) an RPG. Just don't cry when your favorite stuff that just so happen to be in the minority gets scrapped.
But, you're just a minority, brosentance.

The fact that Bioware made 2 exclusive gay romances pretty much affirms that they don't let the majority sway what they decide to pour resources into.
Tali squadmate, ME3. Majoirty swayed way ahead of ya.
Liara.
Garrus.
Refund guy(s).

I'm sure popularity played a role but Liara was important to the plot because she was the only squadmate who couldn't be dead by the third game..

I played broshep maybe twice.
I find Jennifer Hale's voice acting to be superior and very enjoyable.
