Hi,

I have 2 HDDs on my PC, (C:) with minimal space and (D:) with large space.
(D:) is where my game is installed — like my other games — but I noticed that the DLCs have been installed on (C:) under Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/AddIns. As far as I remember I have never been asked where to install this content...

Is there any way to safely move all the downloaded materials installed in AddIns directory to my (D:) disk and have the game look there instead of the default location?

Thanks in advance!

Dragon Age will put all user specific data under your Documents folder. You would have to change the location of your entire Documents folder to the other drive.

That means that I would have to recreate a path that would look like:
C:\\\\Users\\\\username\\\\Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age
?

But it would go back to square one, which is actually how to tell the game to look for DLCs into D: in a given directory instead of a C: in the default directory...

You would need to go to Username\\My Documents, right click on My Documents and select properties. Then under the Location tab you can change the physical location of the Documents directory to where every you want.

But the game will always store DLC under Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Addins, you cannot change that.

Thanks a lot, that's actually all I was looking for (and even more since I have been able to move saves where I have room)! ;)

The game is working fine and the DLCs are seen with no problem :)

No problem. One quick note, if you have problems installing new DLC you might have to move it back to the default location temporarily. That's only for the DLC installer, you can move it back later.

Wouldn't it work is I copied the entire AddIns directory to elsewhere and put an NTFS Junction in its place that would point to the new location?

As the BioWare folder is located in the Windows Documents (or My Documents) special folder, why don't you simply move this folder using the Windows feature for this (in Documents Properties panel)? This will automatically update any registry entry relative to this Documents folder to reflect the new location.

Wow, your idea of Junction worked like a Charm !!!!!
Freed up 5 GB of space from C drive.

Thanks !
Maurizio.
