I doubt it.

OP: We know sweet FA about DA3. While I understand that you're worried, at least wait until there's been a reveal before freaking out.

There's no point in upsetting yourself until you know whether or not there's anything to be upset about. Just cross that bridge if/when you come to it.

Most days I'd actually say yes.  But then, most days on DA2 I'd say the same compared to DAO :P

It's crazy cool seeing stuff come to life and features come into place.  Having said that, I also don't specifically play the game every day, so I get hit with that "Oooo cool!" feeling every day.  But I also can recognize works in progress so that something is only 50% complete still illicits an "Oooo cool" whereas in a finished product, it probably wouldn't.

Never fear, I'm not upset :).  I have faith in Bioware, my point is just that it's not going to be blind faith.

ME3 was the final burn. I will not be preordering DA:I.

And yes, I know they're different teams and all that.

I wont pre-order, but I will buy DA:I day one =)

My copy of DA2 came 1 week late and my copy of ME3 CE came late 2 weeks. My husband happily played the regular version of the game, while I ran around the house with my fingers in ears, yelling "lalalalala" Not fun =(

Amazon overseas shipping sucks, when it comes to getting games on release day!

I agree with some other people here before me, I have never played a bad BioWare game. While I might not agree with some things in the games, it never ruined them for me and I replay DA2 and ME3 regularly.

I won't be either. I held off on DA2, saw the disappointment and reviews, and waited to buy till it went on sale a few months later. Glad I did so.

I couldn't help myself with ME3 (the epic conclusion!) but was burnt by that too.

I will not be pre-ordering, or buying day of release. I will wait for feedback from sources that aren't gaming websites (including BSN) before I spend my moolah.

Most games I buy I pre-order and I only purchase digitially now.  I like having the game downloaded and installed pre-launch so I can start playing right at midnight.

Personally, I greatly enjoy Ab Circle Pro Deluxe. I have noticed it is fastest and easiest way to have washboard abs and that sexy v-shape you've always wanted today!  Since I bought two, I got third one installed for free in carage of my summer cottage

I'm ok with preordering. But only those I trust.
If Half Life 3 will be open for preorder - I'll do it without a single thought. Due to Valve's reputation.
Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void - sure, Blizzard proved themselves as top RTS makers.
Wasteland II - no problem, dev. team proved their competence and professionalism.
Project Eternity and Torment: Numenera - reputation once again.
Witcher 3 - CDP proved that they can do things right.
Dragon Age: Inquisition - BioWare's reputation is ruined. EA is even worse. So no, no way. Risk of another DA2v2.0 is too high.

I don't see the point of preordering myself; it's not like games are ever in such limited supply on release day that you need to preorder them in order to ensure yourself a copy.

I think the main reason for pre-orders are for the Collector's Edition, otherwise I don't see a point in it either.

Well a point for me was that if I pre-ordered a game I sometimes(used to be always) get the game a day or two early. So I occasionally pre-order games that I know I'm gonna like just cause I may get it early. BioWare firmly on my never pre-order/wait and see list now though.

STEAM's latest Milestones system encourages preorders. Like with X-Com, the more people preorders the more bonuses they get, and third bonus usually a free game.

To be fair i'm in the minority as it's part of my job to keep up with these things, but also, I usually only do this for games that I'm pretty sure i'll love. Last few were, Farcry 3, X-Com, Dishonored, D3, SimCity (only one that didnt have a pre-load wtf.) And tonight, BIOSHOCK!@#!%#

That's origin. <_<

I probably won't be preordering either, but in my case it's a question of resources; I'm not sure I'll be able to afford the launch price, which makes me very sad. :c

Right, I guess PC has more reasons to pre-order. I only play on Xbox, so yeah :) Probably would preorder if I would get a free game or something better than the Argus Assaultrifle I got from Amazon for pre-ordering ME3 CE.

The most pre-ordering I do in recent years that is in a sense Kickstater given when pledge your essentially getting the game when released like a pre-order. However the only actual non-KS pre-orders I ever do are never about the game, they are about the additional content, whether physical or digital and more often than not the only ones that really tempt me are the ones where you get a free game with it.

For example I got Civ5 with XCOM pre-order on Steam and GMG was doing pre-order incentive for Bioshock Infinite in which you got Bioshock Infinite plus two or three other games for free and they were big budget titles ones like XCOM and Civ5 or other Bioshock titles plus more to choose from.

Outside of that 'scale' incentives, I never pre-order and when I do it is never about the pre-ordered game itself. If DA:I for example came with free copies of other games I might pre-order. Digital incentives like unlock weapon x, y or z is no where near enough to me and is not a good enough incentive to pre-order anything (imho). If Bioware want's me to pre-order it needs to offer a good incentive like free copy of world of thedas (physical or digital depending on what format of game buying) and/or free copy of movie dawn of seeker or guide books etc or maybe even better would be if you pre-order you will get the next 3 "STORY" based (not item packs) dlcs for free or even if planning an expansion instead of DLC later for it you get that free. I have zero interest in season passes for same reason, I never want item packs, only story DLC's and expansions so tacking on season pass as incentive wouldn't be good enough for me because you'll end up with loads of tacky item and weapons packs.

Do you still play the games after they're released?

I used to wonder this same thing.

I have a friend who worked for a very large video game company for ten years.  6 years or so ago he let me come to work with him for a day so long as I did not divulge what I saw (specifics about the game or how the company operated).  All day he played the game, stopped, changed some code, played it again.

We go back home and he says, "You want to play some video games?"  I asked him, "How the hell can you want to play games when you just played all day?"  His answer:  "Hey man, I love what I do!"

Reading the OP makes me hungry for eggs. I'm sure the words 'runny' and 'undercooked' shouldn't do that to a person.

I'll probably pre-order. I don't usually, and I almost didn't get ME3 on the release day as a result. It sold out weirdly quickly. And seeing as I enjoyed DA2, I have high hopes for DA3.

After the ME3 ending and DA2 I am very hesitant towards Bioware at this point. I will be waiting for user reviews and insight before purchasing DA3 or any other Bioware related products in the future.

Do people really still not understand the concept of budgets as it relates to DLC? I mean, I assume most people see the same kind of thing every day at their place of employment.

And I thought ME3 was a great game with a little bit of a let down in end-game execution. Not a massive insult or the worst thing ever to happen in interactive entertainment. In fact, if I was making an idiotic youtube video, I'd probably make up statistics and claim that 98% of people agreed with me.
