Most
games I buy I pre-order and I only purchase digitially now.  I like
having the game downloaded and installed pre-launch so I can start
playing right at midnight.

Personally,
I greatly enjoy Ab Circle Pro Deluxe. I have noticed it is fastest and
easiest way to have washboard abs and that sexy v-shape you've always
wanted today!  Since I bought two, I got third one installed for free in
carage of my summer cottage

It's funny because if you
keep reading my post I specifically point out that EA is the only
company that didn't let me do that and I was dissapointed.

where is the eye roll emoticon..

Not really. You come in showing a poorly made video then expouting how you won't purchase a pre-order unless the game is ready. So ready in this case is not irrelevent, since it hinged on your already made decision. As to the idea of speading the idea...that sounds made up to me.

Considering the game has been in development for 2 years at this point (24 months) its already ahead of the curb regarding expected release dates, don't you think?

I'm not judging the development period - I don't usually pay much attention to them.

but lets think about it. Dragon Age II had at best, 20 months of development, Origins had over 44 months because it was in limbo for a year or so.

If we were going to put merits into time to determine something as ready, what would be acceptable? You talked about the bugs in SimCity, whats a good amount of time to make sure that doesn't happen in Inquisition, by your estimation?

No one really can answer that question.  I don't make video games so I have no clue what a normal timeframe is to make one but lets say 20 months is the a doable goal.  The biggest problem I have heard about is say after 15 months the publisher calls you up and tells you they want to go in another direction.  All of the sudden at least part of all that work is nul and now you only have 5 months to get something out the door.  I am not sure how much this would affect BW but it can be hell for the independent game makers.  Another issue that can really hurt a game is when that timeframe is changed mid production and a great example of that is Kotor 2.

They didn\\ t have to create the setting, the map, the magic system, and all of the lore, for DA2 though. They had to for DA:O. That would account for alot more production time being needed for the first one.

The reason why I will not pre-order? It's a little more recent than most, but something I'm sure other have discovered.

The wayward son glitch.

I picked up a copy of DA2 on PS3 a few week's ago and finally popped it in a on Monday. I played through, killed the slaveer's at the docks, looked for the map, couldn't find it. Thought maybe it was character related so went back with a new party, tried the same thing in the evening. Figured it would resolved itself and went off to make money, saving over my previous save in the process.

I then discovered that it was a glitch and without a save before the fight I'd have to restart........... How Could I have known that before hand!!!

I'm a recent DA2 player whose sat down to enjoy a game released a year ago and a glitch mean's I'll have to start a second playthrough since my first can no longer be finished due to Death Siphon despawning the body with the map I needed! This is not a small thing to be forced to restart a game but here I am, doing exactly that, and I have to wonder if DS will do the same thing in the future, meaning that I now have to actively juggle my save game's instead of just sitting back and enjoying the experience.

I really hope DA3 is good, but if this glitch still exists in DA2 a year after release then I need to know DA3 does not suffer the same problems. This glitch has shaken my confidence.

I love the games you produce Bioware, but I have been burned too many times lately, and twice by you (ME3 and DA2).  There's no need to rehash the issues with DA2, I think we all know what they are.  I want to love DA:I, and I'm eager for it to come out.  But I know who your publisher is.

This is a plea for sense, and respect for the consumer, and respect for yourselves!  Please, please do not release DA:I until it's ready!  Please, please do not cut corners!  If you do it right, people like myself will buy the game at full price and all DLCs!  Only if it's done right.  If it comes out runny and undercooked, I will wait until it's a bargain and I'm unlikely to buy any additional content.  I never bought the DA2 DLCs for that reason.

Respectfully and sincerely,

Brett C.

This video posted by Meltemph is actually a bit more relevant than the above video:

yeah same here

in fact, I'm not pre-ordering anything from Bioware now on. I only pre-ordered ME3 because ME1 and ME2 (as with KOTOR) were solid titles that made me love the Bioware I once knew.

But ME3 is beyond brokern. Not sure why fans only hate the ending. The entire game is bad. I won't go into great details since I gave my 15 page review to Bioware year ago.

But yes,  DA:Inquistion will not be on my list of pre-order. Sucks for you Bioware, you were once my Fav Dev. But like Square-Enix (once the beloved Squaresoft) you've fallen. And a Great Fall at that

I was able to pick up the letter and handed it back to Thrask. And though I was loath to pass the up opportunity of a little coin I told him his secret was safe........ <sigh>

The glitch occured when I fought Danzig. After looting everything I was still on the journal entry of loot the slaver's to find out where to go, and when I googled to find out the location of where to go on the off chance my journal was out of synch the location didn't come up on the map.

I understand you just started playing DA2, but I thought by now EVERYBODY knew that EA/BioWare threw in the towel with DA2.  They publically announced the cancellation of the 3rd DLC and in that announcement stated that they would be doing no further work on the game.

I HATE that video game companies think it is OK to release a grossly unfinished product these days, but I kind of feel like you walked into this one.

On a side note:  I've never heard of this specific glitch despite spending over a year on the DA2 forum.  I'm surprised to be reading about it now.  Neither here nor there, but if anyone else has heard of this glitch I'd like to know out of personal curiousity.

I'd heard about the problem's with DA2 as well, but from what I had heard they were based around reused maps's and thing's like that which were athestic. I haven't played to far into it yet so I can't comment on that.

On the plus side, I met a dwarf who doesn't fit the stereotype and look's like he would be as comfortable busting move's on the dance floor and a neurotic elf who is just soooooo cuuuuuute when she can't stop talking.

The matter I'm more concerned with however, is the longevity of the title as a viable game. I've got the original MGS that I can play on the old PS2, and sometimes go back to that. It's never glitches and run's just fine. As long as there is the interest, it can be played with no need to have prior knowledge of how to get around any problem's with the software. (Pyscho Mantis may be the exception.......... ok, nearly a good example, but still)......

*edit* But I'm getting away from the point. I'll have to look into how to navigate the problem's of DA2 and manage my save's better to get through it with any confidence of being able to continue if something goes wrong.........

........So please, Don't release DA:I till it's ready and has been vigourously stress tested and played through. I don't know why these issues can't be patched, but if DLC is giving developer's a false sense of confidence that problem's can be fixed after release then that culture has to be arrested. I've seen other problem's in BW title's but most of them are minor and are resolvable. Normandy's sticky cockpit floor and the Death Siphon, despawn with loot problem's are game breaker's and need picking up before release.

I think it's thirteen. Things seem to be thirteen online.

It used to be 18, because the only games BioWare was making at the time (ME and DAO) were both rated Mature.

On the subject of glitches, i've just experienced a very strange one with Merrills romance in DA2 that i have never seen before. I changed my mind about the romance when Merrill visits the Hawke estate and nipped it in the bud. I reloaded an earlier save and avoided Merrills romance dialog and took it from it from there. Next time i visit the Hawke estate about half of the romance scene plays out with an invisible Merrill. It fades to black and Merrill is standing in the reception of the Hawke estate in her underwear.
For the next quest Merrill was in the party and still in her underwear. Hawke interacted with Merrill and cue the rest of the romance scene with Hawke and Merrill lying in the marketplace in lowtown. I am used to seeing cutscenes repeat themselves in DA games, but never seen anything as surreal as what happened with Merrill. Anyone else know of this glitch?.

No but that is AWESOME!  The story, I mean - not that the game has more bugs.

I rarely pre-order.  I pre-ordered Tomb Raider a week before it was released and I pre-ordered ME3 a few days prior.  Other than that, I don't think I've ever pre-ordered.  I'm not the kind of person who absolutely needs something the moment it's released.

I liked that video.

Thank you, I still don't own Mass Effect 3(I won't use Origins).

We'll see how DA3 goes

^ What I find interesting (apart from the weirdness itself), is that under that light, Merrill's body is perfectly acceptable, as opposed to the bizarre thing (esp. the arms) we get under the bedroom light.

I think that is a mod...? I don't remember FemHawke wearing a thing, or Merrill wearing a nightie. I think it was just plain cloth bra and pantie for both of them. But my memory may be off.

I haven't done a romance with Merrill, but as far as I know, that is the female elf underwear, and if I recall correctly it is indeed what she wears post-sex (watched a clip on youtube).

I don't think so, since those are most probably console screenies, and I can confirm that's what Merril's wearing during The Scene. Don't know about Ms Hawke though, since I only played the Mister version.

They are PS3 console screens. No mods where involved in the strangeness that unfolded on screen for me last night.

You memory is off. They are both in their correct underwear.
