 Waves 1,2,4,5,7,8,9 - Look at where your team mates are and think where the enemy will spawn, in relation to player positions. For instance, Glacier. 3 in the main lab and 1 on the LZ = basement spawn. This applies to every map. Just remember that should you move into the basement (other side of the map) and kill everything, they will respawn behind you.

Objective Waves 3,6,10 - Get to the objective and help out. DO NOT start killing things unless absolutely necessary (getting swarmed in a hack zone, enemy too close to player disabling a device). THE SPAWN BUDGET IS INFINITE, THOSE ENEMIES YOU KILL WILL JUST RESPAWN, usually in a bad position to the objective. When the "money banner" comes up, THEN kill everything.

Extraction Wave 11 - DO NOT RUN TO THE LZ. As the LZ is usually where you start the game (with the exception of London and Dagger off the top of my head), you will know where to run to instead. THE OPPOSITE END OF THE MAP. Moving straight to the LZ means you WILL die and those around you will die. Hold a spot at the opposite end for 20-30 seconds, then move to another spot for 20-30 seconds. When the timer is showing around 30 seconds remaining, run to the LZ.


Play as you wish, but remember there are other people playing the same game who might not want the headaches that go with NOT following these basic tips (and I mean basic).

Feel free to add to this thread, but keep it simple. This is for beginners, not those of us who score close to 200k every pug game played.

If you suck, don't wander of on your own. Stay close to a team mate so that when you die, they don't have to run halfway across the map to rez you.

Stop using the Adas-Anti-Win rifle all the time... especially as the only weapon on your Juggs/Geth Trooper.

Seen way too much of that POS lately.

I've noticed the influx of new players too. And some of them are horrid, and have bad equipment and weapons. It's worse on Platinum, at least I can carry Gold games. I can't on Platinum, besides it's just not fun.

I'm really wondering how they haven't realised after a few games when they wipe on wave 2/3 "maybe Gold isn't for me, I'll play silver for a bit" Haven't seen it yet though.

No. I using up my Cryo ammo. Run around with a Paladin and AIU to see how fun it is. It's like Christmas.

As disappointing as the AASR was, it's not too bad.
But yes, randoms can't get enough of it and are useless with it..

Don't panic. Don't be intimidated (especially by what people on BSN think of people who are not on BSN). If you're not the worst player on the team you're probably not hurting anything. Have fun or die trying.

i didn't say "spawn control", just to be aware of where the enemy will spawn in relation to player position. remember this is for any new players

QFT.  Also I want to point out that if your consumable capacity is low meaning below 3 maybe 4, at least be smart on your usage.  It sucks being last one alive for 4 waves straight, especially objective waves.

Everytime I PUG... there are so many Geth Troopers with anti-shield weapons (Adas/Acolyte) with no equipment. It makes me want to strangle Caineghis....

How about this: You're not a bad player because you're incompetent on Gold. If you have squishy characters, beginner gear & weapons, they go a long way in helping you to adapt to the higher difficulties, and they may tell the story more than your ability to handle Gold.

Don't be embarrassed to play on Bronze or Silver until your manifest develops.
