But it really does hurt the whole team when someone is dying constantly and not contributing to the game at all. I just think that new players should stick to bronze as silver until they can handle themselves in a more difficult match

absolutely, but people will play as they wish. this thread is for the new people who want to learn the ropes a little quicker...

I really enjoyed reading this reply and don't think it would hurt to link to again: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/343/index/16383941/5#16387107

Having played the game so much I find that I can be more prone to forget some details, particularly with executions. It's never good to underestimate an enemy.

But good thread overall, Biggs.

Makes me want to go back in time, when I had still yet to play with a level 10 Carnifex and my engineer was as scrawny as ever.

Sorry, you're right. I wasn't too good when I started out, either

Use consumables and equip some decent gear

Do not wander off on your own if you are a total n00b on Gold, stay nearby someone else (although not too close)

Learn to dodge effectively

On the objective to disable devices, do not all crowd the device. Ideally only one person should be in that location disabling the device. If the whole gang congregate around the device it will attract the baddies, making it harder to disable.

I will never kick anyone from my lobby if they are using equipment. Even bad players because it shows that they actually want to complete the match.

Agreed. This is a big problem with n00bs, a lot of them don't use consumables for whatever reason. If I see an obvious n00b with no consumables in Gold, and is a hopelessly low level character and has a low N7 rating, I will kick if the other 3 elect to kick. If not we'll just try to carry the newbie through.

New players should really master bronze and silver first before playing gold. Jumping into gold right away is silly.

Pointless to lose consumables when the connection drops so much.
