Hello! Thank you for all the advice! I have been playing Silver more, and I was wondering how to play Gold. I played gold once so far, and it really made me panic. (All those Banshees!! Wow!) And I still had a lot of fun because the game I joined everyone was helpful and I saw that they were drawing the mobs away from me when I died so I could gel. It's good to hear that there are some nice tips here about spawn points and especially about the objective waves.
Also, when is it a good time to be okay in gold? I realize I might not be there yet, but I would make sure consumables are equipped before a match. I usually use my Destroyer soldier, but if anyone has the time, is it possible to get a few tips?

Question on going gold. When it is a pizza delivery, should I attempt to carry it (I don't know how to run with the pizza) or wait for someone who can run?

No character can run (hitting the 'run' button makes you drop the pizza). Take it if you're first to it.

Be a team player, No one wants a team mate runing around the map not helping with objectives and constantly dying (most seasoned players will just leave you dead to teach you a lesson).
If you are capable (or have a power you dont really use because of long recharge) detonate or prime the biger enemyes (this specialy goes for sentinels).
Team will apriciate if you mind theyr powers eg:
you have incinerate and you have someone on the team with overload, try timing so you set up the target for him to detonate
Dont be selfish and try to kill and get all the points, it might have worked on bronze but its a difirent matter on higher dificultyes and you will just end up dying and if you read the previous posts no one wants to run the whole map to put you back on your feet.

Important on Escort missions dont run away stay in the circly the drone projects and if there arent more than 3 stronger enemyes on your path you and the team will do just fine and no one will die.

Dont exit the circle on hack missions
If you are a vaguard and did not build the character for long range fighting stay in the circle, your squad will be gratefull to you if they have a badass vaguard in there while a brute or anything else manages to slip inside.

Now this quote might be old but it should give you a picture. "You are nothing alone but everything together" - Sgt. Kal Skirata
And trust me if you travel together with your squad and even if you dont mind theyr powers but still go around with them you will just GO through enemyes. You should relly on your squads power, they are not on gold because they wish to test stuff. Never if you are new leave the squad. You will drop and no one wants to save the newbie on the other side of the map from a few banshees and brutes while having to fight faster through theyr own targets.

On Disable/enable missions I recomend spliting up in two teams with one doing the mission and the other getting atention if possible. It will look profesional, will feel satisfying and the team will be gratefull.

Target elimination missions are a cakewalk because you just need to eliminate something I am sure you are there for but dont break of from squad unless you plan to use the cobra.

And for objects recovery I myself am using the glitch (if i can call it like that) of taking the object and then clicking the run button to run and cary the object at the same time, It speeds up the mission but do not run into a bunch of enemyes because they will drop you.
And if you like to just cary it to extraction point or in my case see someone cary it like that be a team player and help them clear a path or draw enemyes from him, it's a huge help..

At the end just be team player and do what you can to help other players...

Not sure if it's been said, but:

Know when to medigel. If you go down, don't gel straight away; wait for someone to get to you. If you're about to bleed out or be executed, then you gel.

Drell, AIU don't lose much speed carrying. Krogan headbutting faster than straight walk.

using your destroyer, i'd go with the falcon and piranha. falcon for everything but big bosses. go with this build, the damage bonuses will make up for low level weapons -

narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Soldier/NDestroyer/RAKLR/NPiranha2AO5AP5/Falcon4BF2AA1///BarrageUpgrade1/

armour piercing ammo too. when you have the shotgun high velocity barrel 5, use that and incendiary ammo

I don't play the merc but you have your harrier at II and a turian soldier....which is even viable on platinum. Being ready for gold just takes playing it, like anything practice and experience will help you even more than a great gun. Eh....Well almost hah.

Thank you very much! I'll look into trying out that spec. AP mods on both weapons or the Falcon? Thank you very much for the advice, by the way! :D

No ap mods on the falcon.

Don't put ap mods on projectile weapons.

They already ignore armour damage reduction, and won't be able to pierce cover.

AP on the shotgun. white rider says it above...
just use the falcon on everything, then switch to your shotgun for big bosses (atlas/banshee/scion/praetorian/prime)

Can I just say that people in lobbies should notify when they change the difficulty setting? All of a sudden my lowly equipped cerb adept found himself in a gold match the other night, and it was less than preferable. It was geth too..My other team mates were using Avengers and Phaestons /facepalm.

How we managed to extract I have no idea, especially as I was low on gels.

Learn to reload cancel.
Don't waste cloak damage bonus without using power or shooting.
Don't use Volus kits unless absolutely sure how.
Detonate for other players, then prime if you can.
Don't play 4 grenade-based kits on the same match.
Kill Cerberus engineers fast.
Avoid Geth lobbies at all costs!

I've been playing gold games for a while, but recently dropped back down to silver to help my roommate who recently started to build up an early manifest. This has really helped me to remember some of the little things that you forget after not playing gold a while. Notorious P I G wrote...

standing in inclines makes it almost impossible to get sync killed.

.

This is true to a degree, there are a few catches here.

Avoiding Sinc-Kills: 101

-When utilizing an incline, the incline must be one of the steep staircases like on Noveria Firebase
White or ramps on Onatarom Firebase Dagger in order to be effective. The low inclines are not always
        gaurenteed to protect you.

-Here is the catch, you must stay either above or below the enemy at all times to avoid being Sinc-
killed. Once you are level with the Sinc-kill capable enemy ( regardless of being on an incline ) you
        can still become instaneously incapacitated.

     Sinc-kill Capable Enemies:

Cerberus Atlas: My sides are splitting...
The Atlas is Sinc-kill capable after it goes through one of it's melee animations
-Watch for it to stike at the ground or take a side wipe at a target. Once it has done one of these
animations, it can immediately sinc-kill anyone in range until it fires a shot or a missle again.
-Weak points ( after shields are taken down )
                              -Canopy ( large )
-Tiny Canopy ontop ( Three times damage multiplier if you can hit it )
-Knee Plates - 10% damage to armour for each one knocked off
-Crotch Plate - 10% damage to armour when knocked off, gauranteed to stagger
-Shoulder Plates - 10 % damage to armour when knocked off
-Rear Exhaust Fan - ~45% damage bonus ( not sure on that number )

Cerberus Phantom: Shiv 'em in the kidney...
This is a widely known culprit. They are deadly and very agile not to mention hard
to kill on host especially beings they get a 90% damage reduction whilst cart-wheeling about.
-Watch or listen for her to swipe at a target with her sword. Once she has completed this
animation she is going to shiv anything within range. Wait for her to fire her palm cannon before
approaching again, I suggest that you still use extreme caution even then.
                        Weaknesses and Strengths:
-Head shots are most effect once her barriers are down.
-If she is under weapons fire she will cart wheel which gives her damage reduction.
-If you cast a projective power, she will put up a barrier that shields her against such
abilities effectively locking her in position making for an easy headshot.

          Reaper Brute: Choke slammed...
The brute is a cheap-scape. His melee charge penetrates most cover and the only safe way to
escape his charge is to dodge sideways at the last possible second.
-Watch for him to pound his chest King Kong style ( his eyes will light up red also ) and roar.
He is now ready to ruin someone's day, usually the closest player to him.
-A side note is that his roar will actually stagger you if close enough, keep that in mind.
                            Weaknesses:
-Blow off his armour plating or hit un-armoured areas
-Head shot bonuses do apply to these beasts

           Reaper Banshee: Blitzkreig
When the banshee is teleporting, she is in what is called "Agressive Mode". Once she
stops teleporting and throws her hand out, she is in "Ranged Mode".
-Aggressive Mode: locomotive mode utilizing biotic "jumps" which can pass through
walls and cover. She can sinc-kill during this mode.
-Ranged mode: In this mode, she will not "jump" but instead walk. This is when she
will cast out warp balls. Best method to dodge them is to dodge left, then
immediately right when they start to zero in on your position. This will take
practice and even then it isn't gauranteed that it will miss. Also this is when she will
use her "Nova" attack where she screams and levitates breifly almost like Ascension
Mode. This will also deal damage to any players within range of the attack.
NOTE: The banshee is surrounded in an Biotic Aura 90% of the time. So long
as this Aura is present, she is sinc-kill capable, period. If she is not glowing,
then you can proceed to move in an melee if you so desire. Once she starts to
glow, you better get out of Dodge.
                                    Weaknesses and Strenghts:
-While in "Ranged Mode" and glowing she is resistant to projectile power damage
-Head shot damage does apply, put her down, hard.

             Collector Praetorian: The Headless Horseman
Preatorians are an animal all their own, unique. While hovering they are not sinc-kill
capable. However, if a player casts a projectile power ( like warp or incinerate ) it will
encase itself in a protective bubble that effectively block grenades and other projectile
powers. Once it sets down on the ground and stabs at target with its fore-legs it is
in insta-kill mode. The Praetorian in vulnerable during its "Eye Beam" animation. This
can be exploited by melee and vanguards beings this is the only time safe to engage
this death machine in such a fashion. But, this is a very small window. Once staggered,
it can strike and insta-kill just like before. It is ill-advised to biotically charge or melee a
Praetorian under any circumstance. They also possess the wierd ability to sinc-kill a
target that is on the opposite side of a wall, as strange as it sounds...
                                   Weaknesses and Strengths:
                                        -Bubble renders projectile powers in-effective
-Remove its jaw plates ( located under its eyes, also looks like its mouth )
head shot bonus applies once you remove these and hit the soft tissue
underneath. Remove its Grille, then hit it in the mouth. Also Staggers if
high enough weapon damage hits in this location once barriers are down.

              Collector Scion: Beaten and Bloodied
Scions are sinc-kill capable after they go through their wild haymaker melee animation.
Once they fire off their cannon, they are "safe" to melee. Watch for them to rare back for
the melee animation though as they can often do a one two K.O. following this melee by
                  the arm cannon smash insta-kill.
                                     Weak Points
-Pop its "sack" on its left shoulder. This wil defuff his cannon and reduce his
armor.  Then follow up with head shots.

Just a reminder, you are playing a game based upon space magic. Image IPB

I wouldn't even limit this to gold games  >:-P  I'll do silver or gold if it's with friends or with people who seem to know what they're doing, but I mostly play bronze because it's not difficult and I have fun.  But twice in the last couple hours I had a nice, smooth game with PUGgers I *assume* were fairly new (N7s of ~47-129ish).  After breezing through those bronze matches, they switched to silver.  "Fine," I thought, "as long as they know what they're doing and don't run all over the goddamned place, dropping like flies until I'm the only one on my feet and eating medigels to salvage some cluster**** operation.  As long as they carry their weight."

They ****ing didn't.  Which I take as "you shouldn't have upped the difficulty if you weren't prepared for it and expected someone with a lot of promotions to make it easy for you."  Learn your basics before you get greedy and try to jump on someone's back.

Mea culpa, probably shouldn't have followed them in without a bit more scrutiny, too.

These are the kind of tips players should see on the infinite loading screen instead of "ordering squadmates to attack a target makes them do more damage" or w/e SP garbage we get. This would definitely help a lot of new players. I see a lot of pugs trying to camp one spawn location and getting jumped and people burning all their gels + rockets trying to hold the LZ for the full wave.
