Thanks to everybody at Bioware that worked on the Multiplayer mode of the game, I was skeptical after hearing about it and after the demo I have been hooked ever since. Weekend Operations gave me something to look forward to every week, then later after retaliation and the roll out of challenges something to keep me motivated in continued play. All the classes that have been added since launch have been a joy to experience and play and I eagerly anticipate what's next from you amazingly talented people at Bioware after the fun ride that was Mass Effect 3.

Kind of sad, but hey, at least I can quit recommending ME3 for it's multiplayer to all my friends. If the EA/Biowares team is going to be this flakey about announcing the end of weekend op's and meekly announcing the end of balance changes who knows how long they will live up to their "commitment" to keeping the servers up as long as they can. So yeah, no trust there that the game creators will live up to their word so I can't in good conscience tell people to buy or play ME3. Sorry.

I've been PC gaming since the late 80s and I do believe Mass Effect 3's multiplayer is my most-played game to date if I exclude MMOs. It even beats out Bethesda's offerings. ME3 MP was a great ride, BioWare, thanks for the good times and memories. I cannot wait for the next installment in the Mass Effect universe. Don't let me down!

I liked the balance changes....just wish you all had fixed the OP nature of the Collectors before you moved on. :-(

I've never been a multiplayer kind of guy, but my wife and I have been playing almost non-stop since the demo! It's been a blast and we're planning to stick around and hold the line...

So... thanks Bioware!!!

It's pretty damn disappointing that Bioware didn't decide to do one last sweeping set of balance changes before they moved on to other projects. It's not like there aren't a few weapons that are still blatantly overpowered and a few more that are unquestionably weak, so how hard would it have been to take fifteen minutes to change half a dozen variables and make all of these weapons fit well with the rest of the game's arsenal?

Squad Elite can still be done as long as you nab some Gold or Platinum extractions and the new Unknown challenges. You just can't get to the 150% club anymore.

I've never enjoyed online multiplayer before, but I'd just like to thank everyone involved in creating this experience and allowing me the opportunity to meet some great people. It's been many many hours of fun! I never thought I'd play this multiplayer at all, but it ended up being the highlight of this game by far for me.

It's a shame support for the multiplayer is being withdrawn already, but I guess it was considered very much secondary to the story mode, so I'm happy that it got as much support as it did. I hope the servers at least stay up for quite awhile longer as a bridge to whatever's next.

The concept of this mode was fantastic--to be fighting in the front lines of the Reaper war. I hope BioWare can come up with something even more epic for the next release that also involves a galaxy-wide threat with the races aligned against the threat. A game of fighting something like mercenaries would be underwhelming to say the least.

Yeah, thank you for the excellent support, in spite of the often heated debates/discussions on the forum by the players.

Here's looking forward to what you guys do next. :)

I'm sorry to see it end so quickly. The whole ME3 experience has been great. The SP game was fun and kept my interest all the way to the end (more than once). Multiplayer was like a super bonus; it turned out to be the best part of the ME3 experience! Thank you for your personal interest in making this game great; you did a fantastic job! The bar in the gaming industry has never been set any higher... way to go...

Let me explain in a very straightforward fashion why the end of the balance changes with things as they are now is not a good thing - you know, aside from the obvious.

For the last few patches, the focus has not been on either improving the metagame or fixing bugs - it's been microtargetted on hindering farming and reducing the missile glitch. One can say that fixing bugs was a priority all one wants - the patch cycle and contents of said patches show otherwise. We have had - literally - four updates that tried to "Fix" the missile glitch. This was very clearly prioritized over obvious things like crash-causing bugs, and glaringly obvious bugs that people have complained about for about a year now.

But why? Why was the missile glitch so fawking important that it was worth ignoring the page after page after page of bugs that the community had already compiled into a nice, neat list? What was so critical about this that it literally trumped everything else?

You should know the answer to that question. In case you don't, however, don't feel bad: I'll spell it out for you. The meme that the devs cared only about the bottome line? That one that many players were all-too-dismissive-of? It was true, the entire time.

The only reason one can justify chasing the missile glitch and ratcheting down on farming methodologies (whilst breaking things in the process and ignoring so much else) is because the missile glitch and Platinum Farming methodologies were allowing reliable credit influx - and ergo resulting in fewer players buying magic space points. That means fewer microtransaction purchases.

A reasonable person cannot, possibly, look at the final patch and not acknowledge the credibility of the above: not only were the litany of community-found bugs not addressed, but the last patch was basically slightly ratcheting-back the Collectors and - you guessed it - another attempt to fix the missile glitch. For the final patch of a game so riddled with bugs, that is an embarrassment, especially when many of these bugs can cause crashes, instability, or render certain match-ups utterly unplayable. One cannot claim ignorance on these: the bugs were widely-available in easy-to-read, concise charts, and many of them, such as incorrect data-values or improperly-speccing evolutions, were by all accounts, no-brainer fixes. The devs even chose to ignore a crash bug, which I know from my time working in software was enough to get a program to fail a QA test.

Whatever their reasons, they chose to leave the game in its current state - bug-ridden and loaded with problems - and say: "yes, we're fine with the game like this."

The last patch's content and the apparent unwillingness to support the game further speaks volumes. I make it a point to not post motivators in threads, but damn if the one in that link doesn't fit in this case.

To the ME team :

Since ME1 I've been addicted. The addiction got worse on ME2 then again on ME3. The addition of MP just sealed the deal and now I'll have to play ME3 SP/MP until ME4.

Without any doubt, ME is the game franchise I've enjoyed most and for the longest time since I started PC gaming in the 80s.

Thanks and best luck with all the future ME titles.

A thousand+ hours of fun for me. It was a pleasure to play the multiplayer for this game, even with the monumentus failure of an ending the single player had. I truly congratulate the multiplayer team for this one! The saving grace of this game indeed. Thank you BW.

Well, they didn't so much say "yes, we're fine with the game like this" as they said "we ran out of time to fix bugs you guys have been telling us about for months, lol byeeeeee."

But, yeah, the outstanding bugs and balance issues really lead one to believe that the devs were either not listening, playing favorites, or intentionally sabotaging the balance in order to keep us buying packs.

Either way,

Hopefully one of the things you've learned is that you should be more gradual in phasing out active updates instead of dropping weekly events and then biweekly balance changes one right after another.

It's been great, it really has, but y'all are kinda ending on a sour note, here.

...and the Piranha stays at 6, never to change again. :(

Either way, this feels pretty bittersweet. I played this game SO much from release date up until around November 2012. Thanks for staying so involved with everything and delivering such a fun game.

The next time I'll be playing Mass Effect 3, is to tackle all of the single player DLCs. I can't wait.
