Thanks for all the hard work, guys. I prefer to see ME3 MP's shortfalls as growing pains; it's not like you guys have done anything like this before, and the first time around is always a bit rough. It figures that I get back into MP right as it's wrapping up
There'll always be a group of BSN'ers playing until the turn the server switch to off. It'll be a good while till that happens. Until then, there will be people like us, who even with maxed out manifests, will find reasons to play on. Besides fun, I mean.
edit: Ugh, I misspelled "they." Blech.

Oh, I wasn't aware you ****wits ever started balancing.
As always, this disgusting; dumbed down and monetised game ruined what could have been one of the best RPG trilogies.
Everyone;
This is what happens when you have no idea what you are talking about.
Now for you;
1) You didn't know? That's your own damn fault. Maybe do some research.
2) That's funny, SP DLC runs up to $54. MP DLC? $0. Yep, "monetized". Those OPTIONALLY PURCHASEABLE WITH REAL MONEY packs are such a doozy. It's not like I can just play for a little while and earn the same reward.
--2b) In regards to SP DLC and its price tag: one permanent squadmate, 10 temporary squadmates (eight of which you can play around with in Armax Arena), seventeen new guns, a dozen new weapon mods, ten new appearance options, five bonus powers, three amazing narrative pieces, new game modes, and whole crapload of other small details. That's a huge amount of content for $54.
3) Are you psychotic? This is still one of the best RPG trilogies. ME3 had a few shortcomings (first two missions, Kai Leng, ending), but it was still a damn good game (MP aside), and ME1 and ME2 are already really good games. If you take three relevant and very good games and put them together, you have a kickass trilogy. Sorry that you're too busy ragging on BioWare's "artistic integrity" to notice, but I do.
4) Have you ever actually played MP? I would like to think not, given your claims on it being "monetized", but it's entirely possible. If you didn't like it, that's one thing, but...
5) Don't infringe your personal bias upon us as though it were a fact. You speak as though this game is objectively bad. It's not. Most people that play it like it (for SP or MP, or both). Lots of people played it. It must be doing something right. And of course, nothing will gain everyone's respect, but don't talk as though the game is objectively bad. That's your opinion. Not ours.

I noticed a lot of new players on PS3, probably since the game was free on Playstation Plus. I'm still playing almost every day, and so are my friends. Everyone misses the weekend challenges. Why could they not do monthly challenges? Give us at least something! The RDR servers are still up, and there are still challenges with triple xp. I find it very sad that Bioware stopped everything after one year.
I'm one of those! I'm not even really a shooter person but got really addicted to ME3 multiplayer.
One thing that really bothers me are the Collector freezes. To my understanding this was reintroduced in one of the latest DLC after being fixed previously, correct? I really hope Bioware will consider fixing this again, it looks kind of a big deal for such an important game.

I never had particular freezes with collectors. If it freezes it does it even on story mode. However, it is really bothering, also that the servers become unanavailable all of a sudden, sometimes in the middle of a game.Bucciarati wrote...

I was thinking about the monthly challenges anymore. For commendation packs it would be nice to just give out medigels or op packs. Anyways, I will continue playing since I'm still working on my Mass Effect banner and still need the geth spitfire.

Right after the balance changes ended I lost all energy and motivation to actually play MP.
Who knew balance changes were actually something entertaining that kept interest up for me.
Ah well life moves on, new games, new guns, new ways to send my enemies brains into space.
Only reason I'm still here is that I love chatting with the community.

I just want to be certain I know what's going on, since I've been checking back every weekend to see what the next Weekend Event would be, and there's never anything there... I ask purely out of curiosity. If the "balancing" is over, does that mean that the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is essentially ending production of any future content? (And possibly heading toward the dreaded "perma-offline" multiplayer servers?)
If it is... I have to say, I'll miss it. When I saw the Awakened Collector among the new classes available, I put in at least 60 hours of multiplayer gameplay to finally unlock it. It brought me back in force to play as much as I possibly could, to try and unlock the shiney new content, and play around with it.

Not to ask something terribly over-obvious, as I'm guessing it probably will sound, but does this mean that Weekend Events, new classes/weapons/content, and other items are ceasing from here on? Or am I completely misinterperting this whole thing?

Yep unfortunately you're right. It's all over.
The devs have stopped posting to the forums too, I guess they've moved on to the next project.
No date has been set for when the servers willl go down, but this is EA, they'll go down as soon as people stop buying packs.
Hopefully that won't be any time soon.
EDIT
I stand corrected, just saw a bunch dev posts from the last few days. I guess it's not all bad

That's... Sad news to hear. With the introduction of the Awakened Collector, I'd hoped that it meant there would be more Collector themed classes available in the future. (Soldiers, Vanguards maybe.) Something to really work with the bonus to Collector/Prothean weaponry racial bonus they have, much like the Geth.
It's rather saddening to know that there'll never be any more weekend events... I took a long break and managed to come back in time to do one final weekend event, and I can only assume it was the final one. It's truly a shame to see a game like this end seemingly so soon, with no means of continuing to play outside of dedicated EA servers. Tis a sad day indeed for Mass Effect multiplayer fans.

Same here. The false hope that the development team would finally get around to fixing the many broken things they've created has turned out to have been an encouraging motivation to play.
But now, we have this. General concensus is that Reckoning went out with a whimper. Take some sort of lesson from that, devs.

Now I'll never get that weekend challenge completion!
Oh well, ride was good while it lasted. I'll keep on playing and get what completion I can, regardless. I'm hoping some kind of data from our gameplay on this one will port over to the next Mass Effect game, in some way (ie credits, exp from the single player, weapons/exp in multiplayer, etc).
Oh well, back to multiplayer!

I know they are busy with other stuff, but damn man the game is only a year old and they already stop support for it? WTF? Surely they could put a small team together that is aimed at continuing support for ME3. I really don't think that is too much to ask.
Anyway, I wonder if BIOWARE would consider doing a "weekend challenge recap" where they run all of the past challenges over again so that those of us that missed some challenges can have a chance to do them, and also so that new players also get the chance to do those challenges.

I have come across the single worst and most destructive bug I have ever seen in this game and it happens consistently. It has happened to me about 7 times on 7 different days over the period of about 12 days. It has the potential to actually damage the console system. It is a freeze bug. I have seen it several times. It happens when the entire game freezes and your system has to be rebooted and do a status check to make sure it was not damaged. However, with it happening so often, the chances it can damage must be far higher than it should for any game.
Video games and programs are the first product in human history that is often released broken or incomplete and still makes money. This game is sadly proof of that especially with the latest bug which pretty much renders playing it a "do at your own risk" sort of thing which is not good for such a product.

Edit: there are a lot of fixes and maintenance stuff that needs your attention still. It's kinda lame you dropped us after just one year with such a success as your first MP game...please come back.
