So only 8.2% played Adept and 18% played Female Shepard? Female Shepard was better.

I played Adept in ME2 on Insanity and thought it was a fun class.
But in ME3, why play Adept, when you can play Sentinel. ^^

The most important info was ommited:
- how many gamers FINISHED ME3?
- are the statistics taken from finished games, or all the ones that were started?

Not including the whole data piscture is kinda manipulation. My bet would be 30-40% of players finished the game. Correct me if I'm wrong, was there any info regarding finished playthroughs?

Dude, Femshep isn't a class, gender makes no difference to your abilities, you suck not Jane ;)

Idiot.... I was referring to the voice.

Word. I hate her voice too.

Now, if they had gotten Jennifer Lawrence to voice FemShep, I'd be all ****ing over her.

I don't know where did they get their stat from. But personally, my first char was a male Shep, after that, of total 11 characters that I've finished the trilogy with, 8 were femShep. I think J.Hale did a lot better job than Mark Meer, that's why I prefer playing fem over male Shep. Although, I only finished ME3 with Adept once so I guess that stat is right to me lol Their spam biotic combo is powerful, but after awhile it's kinda boring imo

Heh. After numerous playthroughs on different difficulties and different classes, I think that male / soldier Shep is definitely the canon character of the trilogy. It’s not like soldier is my favourite class (in MP I prefer vanguards and infiltrators), but it just fits.

Also I did one playthrough as a FemShep, just to see how a full renegade would look like. Guess it’s a psychology thing – when playing as a MaleShep (and being male) I get immersed, sort of relate with the character and then make decisions I would probably make in the real life. However playing as a different gender does not create this sort of rapport, and I simply do not feel “responsible” (guess that’s the right word) when killing Wrex, sacrificing Quarians, etc. Maybe that’s just me

I played through with FemShep once.

I seriously dislike that voice, though I am standing alone with that. But it was good. The Garrus romance makes up for everything (Team Dextro! \\(o_o)/) and considering there is also Traynor (Traynor is the proof that Bioware can still make wonderful female characters without having to give them an oversexed body or a biotic porn romance scene), Bioware did not screw up here.

I played an infiltrator femshep and a vanguard BroShep, guilty as charged.

Still this list just cries "We are being undermined by casuals, HELP."

My current PTs (all custom, I hate both default faces):

Finished ME1-3: Paragon Soldier BroShep (oh yeah, right in the majority face).
Finished ME1-2, partway through 3: Renegade Adept BroShep
Finished ME1-2: Paragade Infiltrator FemShep, Paragade Sentinel FemShep, Paragade Vanguard BroShep
Partway through ME1: Paragade Engineer BroShep

Been there, done that.

At a GDC Europe panel, BioWare's online
development director Fernando Melo shared some game data on completion
rates for their past titles from Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises. The data is fascinating, really.

Mass Effect 3: 42%

Mass Effect 2: 56%

Mass Effect 1: 40%

Dragon Age: Origins: 36%

Dragon Age 2: 41%

Note though that the industry average is only 35% (and not apparently the 10% people were led to believe)

Game length vs Game completion

Bioware games pretty much alwys meet or beat the industry average...Mass Effect 2 is the outlier though..56% completion rate is INCREDIBLY high...this is higher than the 30 sampled games done by the author listed in the link above...

Yep, this jives with my experience. Its easy to see if you have a steam account that keeps track of achievements.

For example, for XCOM Enemy Unknown (one of my games of the year for 2012), its easily seen that only 37.3% of players have unlocked the achievement for beating the game on any difficulty:?

For Runespell: Overture, its 10.8% (I haven't bothered finishing it). For Football Manager 2011, there is no such thing as winning a game, but only 50% have won the top league in their nation (a natural aim of the game). So on and so forth.

Completion rate of DA:O was ruined by Deep Roads. I absolutely love the game and hate that place with a passion.

I'm also surprised with high rate of ME2.

56% for ME2 is just plain weird...that's the highest completion rate I've seen for a game ever

That's higher than Portal 2 and Portal 2 is noted as being one of the few games to actually crack the 50% completion rate...

It's a travesty really. Those who chose Sheploo missed a lot, Hale is called voiceover queen for reason.

Yeah cos the vocal minority feel obliged to shove her "amazing" performance down our throats untill we like it.

Most people who played Sheploo have tried Femshep and didn't like it.
Also most the people who play Male Shep don't feel the need to come on BSN and constantly tell everyone why they think it is the best

I think Hale fans protest too much.  Even the slightest praise of Meer and they are ready to pounce on it and declare Hale as the champion of voice acting. Even to the point of claiming that those who liked Male Shep are somehow missing out.

Sheploo is hot
Meer's voice is how I imagine Commander Shepard's voice to be. The man is born to be a renegade.
Comedic timing is important to me and Meer never missed a beat.
Sheploo and Kaidan romance is hot:wub:
Yeah, I don't see how I'm missing much.

So male solider protagonist for ME4?

It will be interesting to see if bio can justify the costs of female PC VO to EA, when only 18% of players use the option.

Another + to silent protagonists.

It'll be interesting to see what your opinion would be if you ever got a clue.

Nearly 1/5...20% of your customer base has a preference.

Companies spend millions in resources marketing to less. I know because I spend their money doing it.

Both Shepards are different views to play with, so one couldn't be better than the other by my opinion. Each voice has different characteristics, I like both but I prefer my Femshep ^_^ and the Infiltrator class is my favourite.

Male Shepard = Paragade Solder / War Hero / Spacer
Female Shepard = Renegade Adept / Rutheless / Earthborn

That's how I like to play. It would suck if FemShep was not an option.
