Why I'll be pre-ordering Dragon Age: Inquisition

Skyrim?
Kingdom of Alamaur? (Oh wait, they don't exist anumore)
NOBODY does games like Bioware does but Bioware.
The characters, the romance, the politics, and everything is awesome.
I'd probably stop playing video games altogether if I couldn't play in their space opera or fantasy worlds.
So I'm pre-ordering Dragon Age: Inquisition because even if it's not as good as DA:O, it'll still be better than 90% of what's out on the market.

Yeah, wasn't the poll thread on whether you're going to pre-order enough?
As much as complaining about too many threads on similar topics is probably valid (serious, no sarcasm), I also point out we know roughly **** about the game so this is just making conversation until the developers leak something.
So I decided to post something positive.

I have to admit that I did like DA2 (not as great at DAO but still good). I will be pre-ordering.

It makes me wonder if the Exalted Marches would have completed the games and fan reception left Hawke's story underdone.

Hey I'll take this type of thread all day over another "Should LI's be bi or gay?" Nothing personal against that, but damn.
But to stay on topic. I would never want them to fail at a project, they really do have so much to give as far as game developers. They are great story tellers, and them along with Rockstar, tell the most emotional stories to me personally.

I'm interested enough in the setting and liked the previous games enough that I'll probably eventually get the game no matter what, but I do already have an increasingly large gaming backlog to go through.

It's true that no one makes games like BioWare anymore but that's increasingly becoming true of BioWare itself. When you love something so much, devote so much of your life to it, it feels like a punch in the gut when the next installment is so disappointing. When DA2 came out I thought I was a one time deal caused by a change in lead designer and EA cracking the whip to get I done on such a tight deadline. I was very disappointed but I was still hopeful. When ME3 came out I knew how hardcore Star Wars fans felt when the original trilogy was changed and the prequel movies were released.

Then again, I'm the guy who'd happily play the Grey Warden up to level 99.

Witcher- Amazing, but no deep companions
Obsidian games- Good story, bad gameplay/tonnes of bugs/probably unfinished/balance issues
Deus Ex- Great RPGs, no deep companions, quite short.
And that's IT. DONE. There are no other makers of cinematic RPGs.

I know that's where I am. The BioWare I loved wouldn't do auto-dialogue. Dragon Age 3 is my litmus test for whether BioWare is still BioWare, or rather (as I suspect) the people and culture have become something unrecognizable. I think DA3 will tell us.

OP: At what point is the name "BioWare" just a name? At what point is it just a marketing ploy for EA? Who is it at BioWare that makes BioWare...BioWare? They've lost a lot of talent, not to mention the good doctors in the last few years...maybe the BioWare you love is changing. Maybe it's no longer the same developer.

Brand identity tends to protect things, as much as I hate to admit real politic. In some cases, you can have a world completely destroyed so it's not something you love anymore. Take Forgotten Realms (home of Baldur's Gate) which in tabletop was destroyed to the point of complete unrecognizability and Ed Greenwood's world simply isn't there anymore.
It'd take a lot to do that to Dragon Age for me.
Even if DA:I ends with something ridiculous, I'm still going to come back for the next round as long as I mostly had fun.

So what? Why start a thread like this ? It just amounts to trolling imo, and a mod needs to close it.
I'd actually like a serious answer to why people can't just ignore the threads they don't like. What about the existence of this thread makes you want to burn it?

Way i see it is at some point Bioware wouldve needed to change the way they made games regardless, new audiences new market new technology new tastes, sooner or later they needed to change an well regardless of which they wouldve annoyed ppl no matter what, sometimes sooner rather than later is better an again regardless of what anyone thought of da2 or me3 it did bring new fans in

Yeah... that's an argument I'm tired of having. I'm at a point where I'm fine either way, either BioWare makes games I want or they don't. I'm willing to give DA3 a shot, but my expectations couldn't be lower.
(I would still never recommend anyone preorder anything ever, or if you're in a preordering mood just use that money to support a kickstarter...don't reward big publishers for bad behavior)

Yes. As you said, bioware do make fantastic games; so creative in every little detail. I espically like the various ranges of dialogue. However, your being a bit melodramatic about other games not being good enough.
