We already had animated dead in Dragon Age, as several other BSNers have happily pointed out. I myself am not generally a fan of zombie stuff, although I am a fan of The Walking Dead, at least as far as really, really liking the Telltale game makes me a fan. I am a fan of the Dead Rising games too. I have a certain appreciation for Romero's zombie movies (the first three mostly). However I object to games getting a zombie apocalypse just "because... why not?". It could work in a fantasy setting like Dragon Age, and I didn't mind it in Saints Row: The Third because it was relegated to one neighborhood, but I actually find it annoying when games with otherwise realistic tones like Red Dead Redemption and Sleeping Dogs get DLC that adds zombie/ supernatural elements seemingly just for laughs or for a change of pace. Well at least in most cases like the aforementioned games, they're counted as alternate continuities.

Honestly, though as anything more than a small expansion or a series of quests, I wouldn't be thrilled if Dragon Age did it. A demon apocalypse on the other hand would kick some serious butt!!

Zombies already tend to exist in fantasy, as pointed out we have seen them in Dragon Age already, just because they don't fit the rather poor, unimaginative story line of "modern movie zombies" does not mean they arn't zombies.

Besides, the last thing we need is something else to obsess over something that will never happen.

I love The Walking Dead series (tv and comics), plus the Telltale game. However, I just don't see a zombie apocalypse fitting in with the DA world. As has been pointed out, we kind of did that at Redcliffe. I would approve of the inclusion of a Merle Dixon-like character with a bayonet hand, though. Even better if it's Michael Rooker who does the voice acting!

OP wants DA3 to jump on the flavour of the month.

Zombies are cool, but are already waaay overexposed/used already.

We already have undead and we have a blight that infects people and turns them into hordes of monsters that attack villages we're defending. There is really no element of the Zombie Apocalypse that Dragon Age hasn't already done without jumping on the overexposed bandwagon.

Except Chainsaw hands. We need those.

I already feel the story:
Once the manufacturer was sitting in his diamond city...
One day a bunch of darkspawn mages entered his city and it became brown, the manufacturer then kicked them out and cursed them to be the first darkspawn-darkspawn, also known as zombies...

pretty new and cool right?

no thats different. actual zombies would infect others imagine if your LI gets infected and you have to kill them

That actually happened in BG2. Only it was vampires instead of zombies :)

Oh god.
Are we really that far gone that we need to request zombies for DA3? Like, seriously? What next, a clan of vampires that sparkles in the sun?

...Then again, it's better than another LI sexuality topic.

Tis' curious how there is something so universally appealing in Zombie Apocalypse. Surely nobody ultimately digs rotting dumb corpses that do nothing but walk about. It is the fascination in  society as we know it coming to an end that gets our collective juices flowin I'm sure. Grim satisfaction of getting to see our service society of barbers and stock brokers and assistans come crashing down. Such apocalypse was very much underway in  Dragon Age: Origins. Sadly it really isn't explored enough. Player runs about in sidelines pulling strings to prevent it; ultimately succeeding. Crisis the Plague brings isn't all that much present or explored after the town towards beginning, forgot the name. There aren't enough  refugees, fear, panic confusion.

Entire game could have been just about exploring this aspect.. Instead, we get usual deal of visiting Three Patented Bioware Planets Plagued By Three Patented Bioware Problems.   There is this massive cloud of seemingly unstoppable monsters eatingtheir way through Ferelden. Hundreds of thousands of people are in the
run. Entire medieval society is busy either relocating or busier still  getting eaten. And I'm underground listening heraldy woes of some fukign dorf prince.:l

I'd love to play Dalish elf whose 1st encounter with Shem society begins just as latter comes crashing down big time. I wanna shoot arrows at people seeking shelter from my forest:(

...But zombies? Yeahh no. No reason.  Not every single goddamned quality product in Pop-culture has to be about zombies. Darkspawn is essentially the same tool in more potential and  less worn out form.

P.S I love DA:O and it's story.Camera portraying them events was just zooming on the wrong dude, so to speak.

You have a strange definition of vampires.
Not to mention that by your logic we already have zombies in the form of Darkspawn.

(Also, I believe you are a troll, good sir.)
