Console players should be entitled to keyboard+mouse support - and the 360 version should make use of the underslung chatpad accessory for hotkey bindings.

Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo decided not to allow mouse+keyboard support. There are third-party products you can buy like the XIM3, but I'm pretty sure it's considered "cheating" in many multiplayer games.

If you are going to build it and port it to pc, do the port right, don't penalize us for being PC players.

You really don't know the powers of modifying Coalesced.bin OP.

I'm aware you can do all kinds of crazy sh*t in there, text chat, change graphics, keybindings, FOV, and a bunch of other stuff that biower frowns upon. The point is we shouldn't have to or be allowed to edit game files for a MP game.

Everything a regular PC gamer needs should be in game options.

I agree with most of the OP's points. Can we add:

>> OFFICIAL 3rd party mod support somewhere, so that there'd be no need for all these arcane hacks? Almost ALL PC games I know have some form of mod support.

>> Dedicated Servers, ranked or unranked. I know, the game may end up being a CoD/BF wannabe, but since EA has decided to include MP in every game, why not take it all the way?

>> It's highly unlikely Origin is going away anytime soon; it already has a large install base. What I'd want at least is for Origin to just blatantly copy everything Steam is doing. Steam started out being crappy (remembering the HL2 activation nightmares...), but look at where it is now. Origin, given time, might surpass Steam.

Sounds like you want Mass Effect 4 to be a guaranteed console port.

PC Master Race exists solely on the ability to tweak things as necessary. Imagine if Sim City 4 had 'all the things a regular PC gamer needed', it would suck.

Nothing wrong with modding SP games, but unless they create a playlist for community mods you should stay away from it in MP. I am firmly against cheating/modding (except GUI related) in multi-player games, even co-op.

I play a lot of PC games because I prefer mouse+keyboard and better graphics/FPS. Also many game types are not feasable on console and function better with mouse+keyboard anyways.

Highly unlikely to happen.

Ideally Origin would become a good digital distribution platform.

Of course, that relies on the idea that EA will actually improve Origin. I'm admittedly not all that optimistic about that.

I know it's going to be released on Origin, but I don't see why they cant release it on BOTH. I mean Valve knows how to sell games and most people I know use Steam anyways.

Wouldn't that interfere with PC players connecting, if one has Steam and the other Origin? Hooking up with friends for matches is handled by Origin right now.

On a serious note I hope that BioWare looks at the turnarounds that other companies have had in regards to PC gaming. For example Gearbox and Irrational Games. Borderlands 1 was a godawful port of the console version that they turned completely around for Borderlands 2. Bioshocks 1 and 2 were almost completely unplayable on PC due to stupid design decisions and just not giving a ****. From what I understand they also turned that around for Bioshock: Infinite, though admittedly I haven't played it yet.

I really do hope that BioWare sees what these companies have done and the resulting out pour of praise from the fans and gives the PC version the attention it deserves.

It would be nice, but I still say it's unlikely given how badly EA wants to push Origin.

I say ideally Origin would become not bad because I don't think that having no worthwhile competition is a good thing for a product/service, even if we're all really lucky that Valve is the one that got here first =P

Not if they build it so that you can use Steam or Origin.

5.      In-game mute

I don’t like turning off my volume in-game so I don’t have to listen to someone breathe in my ear. If the next installment has text chat there should be an option to "mute" someone's text as well.

And here I thought you liked that.

Way to lead me on.:bandit:

We of the Pee-Cee Mustard Race demand deserve better!
ME3 Multiplayer has been an amazing experience<3

...despite it's glaring issues (not including numerous game-mechanic bugs). These are mostly PC related although some apply to console as well.

1.      FPS should NOT scale difficulty whatsoever.

This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard of. I don’t know what engine the game runs on and if it’s an issue with
that or just bad coding. No two computers are alike and people with hardware limitations are given advantages they should not have. Apparently this is related to the engine their using and hopefully the next installment won't have this issue.

2.      Needs moar OPTIONS.

There are virtually no options under “Graphics” (which would help people with poor hardware achieve higher
frame-rates). There is no way to edit FOV in-game and you have to change game files (which is ridiculous we have to do that). There are a few edits you can do in ME3 configuration utility and some third-party software, but it's still pretty lackluster. I haven't played the other two Mass Effect games on PC, but I assume they are much the same. Bordlerlands 1 was a notoriously bad PC port and they completely turned around Borderlands 2.
Here's what Borderlands 2 PC options look like

3.      No One Button To Rule Them All.

Maybe they were trying to make it “fair” for console players who had all the functions on one button as well. But even on console there were two unused buttons (RS and LS) that could have been mapped to use, cover, sprint, or dodge. Having one buttons do all these things on PC is ridiculous and again, we have to edit game files to fix it.

4.      Text chat.

I’ve never heard of a game for PC that has voice-chat only. For me it’s not a big issue, but I know a lot of people don’t have quality mics or just don’t want to talk for whatever reason.

5.      In-game mute

I don’t like turning off my volume in-game so I don’t have to listen to someone breathe in my ear. If the next installment has text chat there should be an option to "mute" someone's text as well.

6.      More cheating protection.

I don’t know a lot on the subject, but I do know this game is relatively easy to “hack” compared to most games I’ve played. Maybe the game should error-check coalesced.bin on start-up or something, but it’s ridiculous that there isn’t more protection in place.

7.      Talon keybinding/thermal clip bug

Obviously they just need real playtesters outside of Bioware and that could have been avoided. Once again to be able to play the character as intended you need third-party software or have to edit game files.

8.       Throw Origin out the Airlock

It's been two years and despite their resources, the rEApers have failed to produce a functional game client.

9.       Add controller support

For those who wish to use a controller they should be able to. (not sure why, but some like it more than Mouse+keyboard)

CONSOLE PROBLEMS:

Auto-aim should be able to be toggled on/off

A player should be able to turn and sprint at the same time if they are physically able to do so.
Behold, the claw!

These are relatively simple things that could be improved for the next game. If you have more suggestions write them below
:kissing:
(formatting is terrible because I wrote it in Word)

Me likey the ideas... well. my hope stands still..

pls no RNG...

i agree about the cheating program and controller options.

bioware pls.
