I am using the Spin Zone against Geth super elites and bringing both Krogans for their ability to soak up damage. I also have Warp ammo as a bonus power, plus have evolved warp and overload to give enemies the most weapon exposure possible. Generally a match will last about 4 minutes, so it is pretty easy to spend about 30 minutes and get 60K credits or so.
On the sniper rifles I am equiping the advanced scope and the piercing mod, except on the Javelin where I am using the ultra light mod, since it already has such a large piercing mod inherent in the gun.
Strategies:
Hunters - The scope allows me to see them even if cloaked. They are generally weak, so I jsut shoot them until dead.
Rocket troopers - Overload their shields, one followup shot will generally kill them.
Pyros - Overload strips their shields and staggers them, one follow up shot will kill them. Often I will shoot first, then hit overload just before the bullet hits for an immediate kill.
Primes - Overload to strip their shields. Warp to increase their vulnerability to weapons, shoot them until dead. If I run out of ammo and need to reload, a quick throw will trigger a BE and kill them.
Weapons:
Indra X - I really like this rifle. It is lightweight enough that I can get 190% cooldown without ULM. Since it is a full auto, you can press the trigger and keep firing until the target dies. I just took this weapon on the Thessia mission, and once a Banshee's barrier is stripped or on a Harvester, you put a single warp on the enemy then press fire until it dies. It takes 5 to 10 seconds to kill a boss level enemy.
Raptor X - I like this one as well. It is also lightweight, so with the scope and no ULM you can get 200% cooldown. It hits harder than the Indra, but is not full auto, so you have to keep pushing the trigger over and over. Generally not a problem though, since most things will die in 1 or 2 shots after you have hit them with overload or warp.
Javelin X - I know why people love this weapons, it does hit very very hard. Most things will die in a single shot without any prep at all. No need to strip shields on hunters or pyros, just shoot them. I don't care for the weight, since I can only get to about 95% cooldown, but I must admit that in Armax my powers are always there when I need them. The problem is moving enemies, the slight delay causes me to miss a lot unless the enemy is coming toward me, or is meleeing a squadmate. While this gun is fun in Armax, I won't carry it on a mission because it feels like I am losing flexibility, which is one of the great things about a Sentinel.
Blackwidow X - Similar to the Javelin it is a heavy weapon, cooldown is about 125% carrying just this one gun. Against a Prime, you can stagger with an overload and kill it with 3 headshots. If you are patient, the rise after the shot will come back to the original aim point allowing the next shot. Since the shots stagger a Prime, he will still be in his stagger pose when you are ready to shoot again. The advantage of this gun over the Javelin is if you kill something, you can stay scoped in and find a second and third target to shoot. 3 shots/3 kills is pretty common at range in a firefight.
Valiant X - Like the BW it has a 3 shot clip. I prefer it over the BW and Javelin because it is much lower weight, giving me a cooldown of about 180%. It doesn't hit as hard as the BW, but it does impressive damage. Overload to stagger a pyro and a single headshot will kill the pyro. With a Prime I strip the shields with Overload, throw a warp, then shoot 3 times. Often that is enough to kill it, but if not then a throw will kill it with a BE. I took this gun at level VI on Omega and never needed another weapon, even though I had a Suppressor with me as a backup.
Hurricane X - Not a sniper obviously, but I wanted to try it out and see how it works. With the armor piercing barrel it will rip through armored targets, so it would be very useful against something like a Brute. But damage drops off at range, so you need to be closer to the target. It also runs out of ammo before things are dead. I found myself gettting killed a lot while bringing down Primes. All in all, I think the Raptor X is a better choice for a lightweight weapon, at least on a Sentinel.
Kishnock Harpoon Gun X - I finished upgrading this one last night and gave it a whirl. Much like the Javelin and BW, it hits very hard. Most enemies will be taken out with a single shot. Unlike the Javelin it uses a charge up dynamic, instead of a delay. This means that you can't just point and shoot (like the Javelin), however you can charge up and wait for an ideal shot, then release the trigger. The game play using this gun requires a different approach. What I found to be effective is to scope in on the target, and charge up the gun. Then take other actions before firing. For example, I would use overload to strip a Prime's sheild, wait for the cool down and throw a warp on the Prime. Once they were under the effect of the warp, then I would release the trigger. With a headshot the Prime would generally go down. The gun is heavier than a Valliant, but lighter than the Javelin and BW, so cooldown in the 150% range are pretty easy to get. But the gun does feel pretty situational. I don't think I would want it in general play as my only gun. So far, I'm still finding the Indra and Valiant to be my favorites due to their versatility and weight.
The only other rifle I have fully upgraded is the Viper, and I haven't tried that out. I'll be posting more impressions as I get the rest of the rifles upgraded.
