Vorcha. I really didn't like those guys, and I wasn't sure I could see them being fun, but they came out pretty entertaining, because flamethrower all the things. I play Vorcha a lot now.
CHRIS! WHY ARE YOU SO BAD AT THE GAME!?
Aww come on, I play pretty much every kit, but there's still something primal and fun about not taking things seriously and lighting everything on fire.
Indeed

QFE. I used to think she was a washed-down Paladin.
The Fortack showed me the Claymore way.
Now she's one of my most used kits. Love her.
Can I get a quick rundown of that? Just Cryo spam and fire?
I tried lowest CD possible CB/Incin spam. Wasn't horrible, but still just doesn't feel right.

Still, there were a few classes that held a pleasant surprise. I never was a fan of the Human Adept, but then I figured out how to do reliable biotic detonations with her (this was a steep hill to climb, since I got all the way through the ME series as a single player adept without having any grasp of what a biotic explosion was or how to get one...) and now she rocks.
I didn't expect to like the Drell Vanguard as much as I do. I don't really like Drell, and I can't get MA melee attacks to work right for the life of me. But the Drellguard gels much better than I expected, and I barely use them.
I didn't expect much from the first round of Batarians, but they turned out to be really fun melee tankers, which wasn't a role I was even thinking should exist. I'm...um...sure they have other uses too.

I don't like grenade powers and a class built around them was a disappointment.
Then I discovered her Heavy Melee is a powerful explosive AoE punch. For a few weeks my favourite melee build was a Demolisher with an omni-blade-equipped shotgun. Deploy the Supply Pylon for my teammates, then run around and punch all the things.

The point is that cryo blast is quite a different power from snap freeze, as similar as they might look. Spec it for debuff and it grants you a whopping 25% damage increase. Plus, it has such a short CD that taking a claymore lets you spam it without problems. Even if you don't like the claymore on her, a strong gun is what's needed to unlock this kit's potential - harrier, lancer, wraith, they're all good choices. Cryo blast also staggers enemies, even shielded ones, which can save your life sometimes.
What you do is basically cryo blast, shoot the claymore with incendiary ammo, the incinerate and watch things go boom. Rinse and repeat. Depending on your build choices, you might want to use the turret from time to time and be very careful about not taking fire (if you go no fitness like I do). Geth Scanner works awesomely for that.
Cryo blast + claymore + incinerate + claymore will kill a Gold Brute. Not many classes have that sort of firepower against armor.

Completely agreed. Was actually just discussing this with friends last night, as I completed my final Demolisher extraction for Earth Mastery and proceeded to lob 10 arc grenades at All The Things during extraction... then popped a thermal clip and lobbed 10 more. For the hell of it.
Overkill? Yeah. Score-ho'ing? Not the intention. Sometimes, things just need to die in the most ridiculous manner possible.
FTR, I Flamethrower All The Things with my Geth Trooper.

turian sentinel - couldn't find the right power/weapon balance for ages
asari justiar adept - the proximity required for sphere just kept screwing me, but now I can use it really well.
krogan shaman - not sure where I went wrong with this one. surely just give him a light pistol and explode stuff. one day I started using him and did really well, so... ?
turian vanilla soldier - same weapon/powers balance as sentinel, but now is fine without marksman (can't get in the right mindset for shot, mine and marksmans inability to use one during it.
human soldier - same problem for AR as with marksman. now use it on gold
Salarian engineer - decoy. how I use it?! now I just ignore it and go for burst/explosions
geth engineer - didn't realise the importance of shields and you can tell where that ends
vorcha hunter engineer - submission net on the bloodlust button. WHY? WHO'S IDEA WAS THIS?
n7 shadow - too reliant on powers for an infiltrator I felt. just used it wrong.
Phoenix vanguard - should be as bio explosion potent as his adept cousin, but I just didn't do well. many of the priming attempts just didn't work and singularity just does better for me.

I was pleasantly surprised with:
N7 Fury
Batarian Sentinel
Volus Engineer
N7 Shadow
Male Quarian Engineer
Pretty much all the other kits turned out the way I expected (as in, fell into the "like" or "meh" category I figured they'd fall in for me)

Drellguard: What a joke the first time I played it. Since then he's been a joy.
Cabal: Constantly surprising how buggy she is. Faulty gates, laggy melee lock, dodge fails, awsd stops working after teleporting. Back to the shop with you!
Drelldept with BWX and Warp ammo. "I scored what?"
Geth Soldier Max Flamer Build. Did it as a joke, but man did those Primes melt fast. Didn't fire my weapon once all match.

I used to hate Batarians until I got comfortable with him. He's hands down one of the top kits in multiplayer.

Huntress: Was surprised to see a biotic infiltrator, and discovered that I found her really fun to play.
Phoenix Vanguard: Had a rough start with him, but after trying out a charge/heavy melee combo actually found him fun to play. aoe stagger lock all the mooks! >
Fury: Sooooo did not know how to play her when I first tried, then I looked up how others played her after hearing how amazing she was. I think my jaw dropped when I saw some of the vids. I don't play her often and don't play her nearly that well. ^.^;
T. Saboteur: I was surprised that his powers didn't have great synergy. Left me disappointed. Still play him though, love dem Turians
Volus: Did not expect to see the Volus. Even though the lockup bug is annoying, do love the support they bring to the table with Shield Boost.
