I chose the Volus Sentinel and max specced for melee damage and sheild restoration. Slap a batarian gauntlet on him and he will OHK non-armor enemies on Silver and most on Gold. I love running up to Turrets and punching them...brings so much joy!

Hey, I had a similar experience with the Batarian Soldier. So ugly I couldn't touch him. And then I did. And I wanted to touch him more.Chris Schanche wrote...
Vorcha. I really didn't like those guys, and I wasn't sure I could see them being fun, but they came out pretty entertaining, because flamethrower all the things. I play Vorcha a lot now.

After resisting it mightily, learned to play the Vorcha and Batarians for the challenges, had only done a few matches with them. Learned to really love them. Vorcha for the shear joy of the kill and their grab animation. Batarians in the way that they are such polite barbarians (Curse You) and make such desperate sounds when they melee.
Volus. They are just a hoot. They certainly have limitations, can make it a challenge on Dagger or Vancouver, but they really are great team players and killers in their own right.
EDI-bot. Not for the reasons most seemed to use her (pre-nerf). Just love to stun and gun. Snap freeze + shotgun = fun. Graal. No charge for mooks, charge up for big critters. Run around killing things, revive teammates, do enable objectives and earn shotgun medals. On a ramp, battle toe-to-toe with a Banshee, snap freezing and shotgunning her until she is a shrieking pile of goo. Good times, good times.
Not so pleasant surprises?
Off host limitations of the Shadow (which also exist on host to a much lesser extent). I get frustrated, quit playing her for a while, forget how bad it can be, then go back and do it again. Ugh.
Drell. Still have not warmed up to them. Can't really say why. They are, for me, the polar opposite of the AJ. With the AJ, I am in sync. Bad things just die. Teammates get revived. Pugs extract. With the Drell, I am awful. I just die. Teammates revive me. Pugs get partial extractions.

I too did not warm up to Drells til a couple months ago. My favorite is the Drell Vanguard. I skip Biotic charge (gasp!) and max for weapon damage (nothing to power damage or weight capacity, as its not needed). I spec pull to max out recharge speed. Even at -200% cooldown, you wait 2 seconds for it to recharge. Plus, you have maxxed out cluster grenades and can carry ANY WEAPON LOADOUT YOU CHOOSE

CHRIS! WHY ARE YOU SO BAD AT THE GAME!?
Aww come on, I play pretty much every kit, but there's still something primal and fun about not taking things seriously and lighting everything on fire.
my fav thing about the vorcha is the melee, leaping at things with omni claws RAWRRRR!
the flames are just candy.
i dont really have a favorite kit, i can never decide what i like most there are too many kits that are fun.

Completely agreed. Was actually just discussing this with friends last night, as I completed my final Demolisher extraction for Earth Mastery and proceeded to lob 10 arc grenades at All The Things during extraction... then popped a thermal clip and lobbed 10 more. For the hell of it.
Overkill? Yeah. Score-ho'ing? Not the intention. Sometimes, things just need to die in the most ridiculous manner possible.
FTR, I Flamethrower All The Things with my Geth Trooper.
Probably the class I was least expecting to like (that I've played) was the kroguard. Not too big on vanguards or krogan, but the combination is just too much fun (even if it is a noob tube kit). Especially after they changed it so BC kills count for rage.

I had never really played one in Mass Effect 1 or 2 with the closet thing being Vanguard, and I'm not normally the type to sit back and cast spells/abilities at targets.
Though the Drell Adept and Asari Justicar are two of my favourite kits these days.

Lol, I fully support this post.
For me, I was surpirsed by the FQI. My first SP playthrough of ME3 was with my infiltrator and she had sabatoge and oh damn, it was soooo goood against geth so I was hella excited to get it in the MP but alas, I didnt get it unlocked until AFTER it was nerfed. So unfortunately the FQI is probably one of my LEAST used kits.

The point is that cryo blast is quite a different power from snap freeze, as similar as they might look. Spec it for debuff and it grants you a whopping 25% damage increase. Plus, it has such a short CD that taking a claymore lets you spam it without problems. Even if you don't like the claymore on her, a strong gun is what's needed to unlock this kit's potential - harrier, lancer, wraith, they're all good choices. Cryo blast also staggers enemies, even shielded ones, which can save your life sometimes.
What you do is basically cryo blast, shoot the claymore with incendiary ammo, the incinerate and watch things go boom. Rinse and repeat. Depending on your build choices, you might want to use the turret from time to time and be very careful about not taking fire (if you go no fitness like I do). Geth Scanner works awesomely for that.
Cryo blast + claymore + incinerate + claymore will kill a Gold Brute. Not many classes have that sort of firepower against armor.
If you need further advice just send me a PM
Some guy dropped into a lobby I was in a few days ago playing the FQE this exact same way and made me and whoever else was in the lobby look like noobs. Although to be fair I was playing a Paladin, and I'm a terrible Paladin. I'm too busy trying to bash everything with my shield rather than being an efficient killer.
Uhh, for kit that surprised me the most...probably the Destroyer once I put an Adrenaline mod and a Hurricane on him.
Also, it took me a long time to realize Overload is the best single power in the game, so anything with overload...
