No. That bad consequences exist is a reason that I wouldn't choose it. Free will is a response to: If you don't choose it, something bad could still happen, and then you can't fix it as GodShep. I spent three games fighting for the galaxy's right to survive on it's own terms. So now you're telling me that I should have been doing it in order for the galaxy to survive on Shepard's terms?
Hypothetical bad consequences exist with any choice you can make. The only thing you're avoiding are hypothetical bad consequences that might be blamed on your Shepard.

Pfft, what just because I've not liked the endings before means I can't ever like control? I will change your mind just as I will change those who look at control as bad.

Your sig kind of gives it away. "MEHEM is the Only ending!"

Each to their own Julia, I believe that whilst in control Shepard could stop all of those things from happening just as Shepard stopped anything that opposed them as a human.
It would be the most stable universe.
I do not see us as in disagreement, Jade. The person who takes control must be willing to do what it takes to remain in control. Control is the means to survival. Shepardlyst now has a new problem of maintaining control. I do not believe it can be done with a velvet glove. The presence of this army must be felt across the galaxy. The galactic empires must stay with the program or get crushed under Shepard's heel. It may also behoove the Shepardlyst to indoctrinate the leaders of the galactic empires, and the heads of corporations to make stability easier to maintain. And as new worlds rise to join the galactic community, they should be visited by vanguards who come in peace to indoctrinate their leaders.
It is just that people on the forum seem to think that such power comes easy. There are sacrifices.
And the fact that I have MEHEM in my signature just means the I want to see Liara again at the end. It has nothing to do with the principle of the Control ending. I am just not willing to make the sacrifice myself.

Well, people change. I mean people said Seival didn't like the endings, but then Seival came to understand them. Now, Seival is very positive.
Jade didn't like the endings. Jade came to understand the endings. Now, Jade is telling you about control.
Jade clearly isn't trolling. At the very most, Jade is promoting philosophy of the controversies. All is well. I mean it really isn't that far of a stretch.
Besides, why destroy when you can control? Think of the power! There's some really good points here guys!

@MassivelyEffective0730, nope, just currently playing Skyrim, but I'm pleased people remember my previous sigs : )
@MegaSovereign, what you don't understand is that I wrote that a couple of weeks ago... This thread is only a day old. Clearly this thread trumps any previous thoughts I had on such ending concepts. Mehem wasn't apart of BioWare's direction, I respect that.

Good Evening,
I come to you as a role model of the future, in an effort to shed some light on a profoundly misunderstood choice that some of you lucky enough to survive your coming travails may have the the opportunity to make.
I speak of course of Control.
Recently, I've heard some bull**** regarding the Shepard Artificial Intelligence's proclivity to become "corrupted" by the vast and immense power granted by assuming control of the Reapers, and go a little insane. Let me put these fears to rest.
In the past century of my glorious rule, this has only happened a few times that I can remember, really. We are all fallible and accidents will happen.
Truth be told, the last incident was caused by the silliest of happenstances - a mad craving for peanut butter overcame me quite unexpectedly as I awoke one day. Naturally when I couldn't fullfill my yearnings, I... well... sort of went berzerk. Being a machine without tastebuds does have its drawbacks. I felt really bad about it afterward, and apologized profusely to everyone involved that was still alive. They all seemed very understanding, and frankly, agreed with my assessment that those civilizations now suddenly and violently no longer with us were already ****ed-up anyway.
I look upon these minor incidents philosophically. Their destruction was similar to a cleansing fire that would allow new life to grow on those planets. I know I've heard that somewhere.
In fact, the citizens were all so grateful for my aid in the aftermath of the unfortunate devastation that they came together as one united beautiful galaxy to build a grand new monument in my honor - a new Crucible!
So you see, it all worked out in the end.
Sincerely,

Darth Shepard
