 What are your favorite maps, characters, and weapons for soloing? I like Asari Huntress (4(Dur)/6/6/6/4(F)) with a Wraith on White, Giant, or Reactor. And as per the Illusive Man Jr, don't forget builds.

I soloed platinum twice. Done after that, it's too boring.

I just don't wanna waste consumnables.

And the maps don't really matter to me. It's the objectives that kill me.

solo is the impossable 4 me i just cant stand having 2 use juggernaught did a silver with him but since then i cant get one done with any other class/charter wish they never made up stupid geth juggernaught i use him on a couple missions and i forget how to play

Any character can be done solo bronze, with any build. I told myself that, and then I did it. A single U/U/B game with every single class, all 65. Started about a month and a half ago, off and on, and did the last one yesterday. And I have found that the top 3 solo maps are Giant, Reactor, and Glacier (normal or hazard) in that order. Reapers and Geth are the easiest factions to solo. Collectors are absolutely awful solo, because scions and praetorians are still broken and abominations swarm you during later objective waves. Also, you get two Praetorians on wave 10 of Bronze. You get only one Atlas, Prime, or Banshee.

I have also done probably around 30 more bronze solos in addition to those. I enjoy solo games on bronze. Relaxing, casual play, with no worry about not having a team. I have only done around 7 silver solos, and only 4 gold. Tried platinum a few times, but it's too frustrating to be fun for me.

I've done 1 successful solo. It was Bronze/Geth/Dagger with a Paladin Sentinel 6/5/6/3/6 with a Carnifex. I haven't attempted another since then; I enjoy playing team play more, and don't think I'm good enough to solo silver yet.

I still need to do my 2 gold solos for the lone wolf challenge. I'm trying decide the best set up but will likely go for something that has DoT or a mine (Cain most likely) so i know I'm doing damage even if I have to run.
In that case something like Huntress, Geth with flamer, Talon merc.

I've been having trouble with the objectives as the enemy seems to be able to get to me before I can finish hacks (which I always get!). For that reason I may go against Geth as they're generally slower and a map that it big but not too open. Giant is open but there aren't many long line-of-sights that cross the whole map.

At the moment I'm usually able to get to wave 8 or 9 before wiping.

I like White when I'm using grenade kits, Glacier when i want fast times and Reactor for Sniping.

Why do you have to use Juggs?  I was having some difficulty initially trying to do solos with my Justicar (kamikaze boom!) and an online friend suggested swallowing pride and using Juggs.  I was determined to use my Justicar because I believe in the boom and I love her. 

I started examining my playstyle and made significant behavioral changes.  I went from spec'ing out the bottom row entirely to only putting 6 points in health and utilizing a more offensive bubble and fully spec'd pull.  Now I can get it done with ease provided the map has enough natural shelter to enable controlled fire from cover and controllable entry points for fallback and boom.

I used this build for my Lone Wolf banner acquisition.  It is completely different from my old build which was about using Reave and Bubble to stand there in one position mostly and soak up damage (and watching things pop like ticks from Scorpion discs).  That is fun and all but in solo play on Gold all the aggro is on you so it wasn't a good scene. 

I recommend stepping back and looking at how you play your current fave and examining for strengths, weaknesses, and WTFs.  There are probably some things you do for LOLz and fun that are not conducive to survivability nor damage output.  For your solo you want to correct those. 

I like to solo on Vancouver, Giant, Jade, and Dagger.  I am super proud of my Lone Wolf acquisition with my Justicar which I love.  Now it is so satisfying to go into Golds and Platinums with a level 1 tissue paper character and do well  in terms of match contributions and in terms of score thanks to the lessons learned.  I don't think I will ever go back to the other build and playstyle again.  Yes, I have less health and shields but use of cover and stagger from my biotics you can not get shot a lot.

Another benefit of the experience is that I am no longer afraid to promote.  I used to fear how I could survive without the full package (mainly the health).  But thanks to the exercise and changes from it, I know I can equip Reave and Pull and throw on a good Assault Rifle and contribute to the team.

Reapers in London is actually easy to solo. Its the shooty factions that kill you due to the tiny gaps in the London rubble. Hacks even the central london hack are damn easier than in pug games simply because it goes so much faster and you don't need to waste time picking up others. Reapers London is really really a good choice for those new to solos.

For soloing i like using infiltrators and engineers. Weakened cloak forces you to understand its characteristics so you have to use it smartly. The pre nerf drone HE was among my favorite solo kits. It was like having a silent buddy who kept sucking up aggro. GE, FQE's turrets were also enjoyable as you had to think a bit on placement. I used to use soldiers for soloing bronze and silver but that was a bit direct, not much special tactics involved.

Sentinel solos were more interesting than using soldiers and i'm still happy to have used the turian sentinel to get the max of 8 gold personal medals before the collectors dropped. Counting enemies and aiming for the cheap ones to extend the wave budget was fun.

My first successful Gold solo was Giant/Reapers using Kroguard with Reegar and Inced ammo. Was way too easy, I've used the TGI but the unpredictable dodge gets me or more accurately B**ch grabs. Used the Huntress for the second one. I tried to use TwichTV to record it for reviewing my mistakes but it would crash the game about wave 4. Gave up using it after 5 fails. The one after that was a breeze 3 Gels left on extraction.

Build was 6/6/6/5/3 used a Harrier with warp IV, Geth Scanner, Cyc IV, AR III.
Got Escort, Control room Hack, Assassination.

I hate solos, but probbly need to do them to finsh my challanges. Thet are just sooo booring.

Keep practicing, it will come. There are plenty of guides and a ton of information that can help you complete this if you so desire.

I personally run Solo silvers to test all of my new builds. I'm working on Solo Mastery for the third time currently. I really want to solo Platinum soon. I have attempted three times now making it to wave eight on the last attempt. I'm so close.

There was one time where I got really annoyed playing with randoms all together and I started doing rio cerberus gold solos with my quarian infiltrator. I probably did about 20 of them, I just like that combo for some reason.

I only really do solo silvers vs anyone except Rippers, using Saber Marksmen. Basically just quick aim acquisition if I've not been playing for a while and need to get my l33t sk1llz back. Waiting for PUGs to join a game I host takes way too long and joining randoms games = rubberbanding, screenshake, bad maps or vs Reapers.
