ha, lol. Good.

I think the pc specs for recomended will be a 660GTX(AMD 7870), 8 GB ram and quad core CPU by the time the game releases.

I believe the alpha build at E3 was on an FX 8350 8 Core CPU, 16 Gbs or ram and 2 2 7970's- running crossfirex with 3GBs each for a total of 6GBs of video card!!!! That's way overkill, Dice had to because it's not optimized yet.

But then again.........

You don't get 6GB of VRAM when using a 3GB crossfire, each card renders a different frame.

yeah I know, but still. That's just overkill. But I'm not gonna lie if I could afford running to 680's in SLI I would. Just for sh!ts and giggles.

I can't wait. I love the changes to the UI in MP and I see a lot of improvement. It looks even more immersive then ever. It's so funny seeing CoD noobs play BF4 at E3. They suck. Two words: recoil compensation :P

What's you pc specs??

You'll need a 660 GTX or amd equivalent probably like a 7870 or something, 8 GB's or ram and a intel quad core or AMD six core cpu, and widows 8 64 bit

But really. You should have at least a 660 TI, more likely a 670 gtx, 16 Gbs or ram and a tleast an i7 processor to run the game really well.

It's a beast for sure.

Underlined: Nope!

Any decent i5 is more than enough and 16GB RAM is absolutely overkill for gaming. 8 GB RAM is all you need for current gaming.

Holy mother of all performance issues ... that beta did a perfect stomach plunge into the pool right from the start.

Just ... no

So, not as impressive as BF3's beta?

So, the Beta is having performance issues? I was thinking of joining the open beta but I don't want to melt my laptop (That's my only option, so can it!).

Oh it's fun allright ... if it works.

The problem is that the beta appears to be terribly unoptimized. The forum is full of people using GTX Titan, 780, 770, SLI or single GPU and still having low framerates. AMD cards fare only marginally better as far as I can gather it.

I myself with my i5 3570K and GTX 660Ti am having a massive fps dance going from 60 to below 10 fps and all in between at random intervals. Also, the servers appear to be quite laggy.

So for example one moment you are expertly dancing your attack chopper through the building maze of Shanghai, next moment your framerate takes a plunge and you suddenly see you lost altitude of a sudden and controls are having input lag -> crash da choppa!

Also, along with server lag here and there the hitreg is a bit messed up at times.

With my i7 4700m, 8GB RAM and GT740m would it be Two Worlds levels of framerate?

So is anyone playing BF4?

Just started the campaign and well, yeah, its pretty much par for the course as far as these kind of things go I suppose.

Haven't tried the MP yet but the performance seems far better than it was in the Beta. And the game looks fantastic. Just be sure you have the most recent drivers, if you've got an Nvidia card since without them I was getting some funky lighting glitches.

Game came out yesterday (obviously), so I got a chance to play a few hours with my friends last night. I can give you a few quick observations. Bear in mind I'm playing on a 360 so I'm not getting the full "effect" ...yet. Also bear in mind, though possibly sacrilegious, I thought Battlefield 3 was a poor game. Yes I put 100's of hours into it and had plenty of fun/funny moments, but it had certain aspects that I just couldn't get over.

Positives:
* Color Palette - This was the big problem I had with BF3. OMG! Totally better. No more constant super bright/dark areas (like that abomination of a map Seine Crossing). The maps have a much better balance of color, contrast, and lighting.
*Maps/Textures - They play quite well. Very impressed. So far they seem well balanced and thought out. And they are fun. Hopefully not just a case of "ooh, new, shiny!" and I'll actually continue to like them. But so far, a definite improvement over the average. Looks great!
*Characters - Seem to move a little slower. A bit more like Bad Company 2. WHICH IS A GOOD THING. To balance this out, the models also seem a bit smaller so it's harder to hit. In BF3 they moved too fast.
*Guns - Can't comment too much. Won't have enough unlocks for weeks. But I like the tiered system they've implemented. This is where each class (other than Assault/Medic) gets to unlock a gun type for ALL classes. Then you unlock more guns of that type by using them with any class. Makes the unlock system more tiered, instead of linear.
*Tank/Chopper Combat - So far seems very much improved. Haven't played any maps with jets yet. I think they really toned jets down in the 360 version, which is good because they were really poorly done in BF3 and out of place. I can see where they would work in larger next gen/PC maps, but not the 360 at 12 vs. 12.

Negatives
*Controls - Played Borderlands 2? Even thought, "Wow, Gearbox really makes their controls intuitive. They totally think like gamers and aspire to do what they would want." Well, I have. DICE is the polar opposite. BF4 sports bastardised CoD controls. And really screws up some basic functions: ex. Why would I want to pull up Battlelog during combat, instead of just quickly checking the gameboard? Why would you change the vehicle enter/exit button to be the same as the reload button? Anyway, I just think there's nothing of value here.
*Spawn System - Kind of an improvement but also kind of annoying. Sometimes very hard to select/find the exact teammate you want to spawn on. Frequently, this results in the death of your pal and yourself as well.
*Spawn Deaths - Serious delay between clicking the spawn button and actually being able to fire. You frequently find yourself dead the very moment your screen lights up. This is definitely not a hardware limitation. You can clearly tell they are trying to balance the fact that you can have 5 man squads, so they added a slight delay. It hurts, badly.

That's all I got for now. If anyone has questions, I'll try to check back and follow up. So far though, I am actually happy.

Soooo, now that my loan has FINALLY arrived, I went out to get my pre-ordered copy of BF4 yesterday (yay) installed and played some.

First of all, I am happy to see DICE has indeed done some MASSIVE optimization work compared to the beta. The game runs smooth on auto-settings (more or less everything high with reduced AA) and so far I am well above the 60 fps mark. Well enough that I might in fact increase the settings a bit once I got some more performance impressions from MP on larger maps in full servers with lots of action going on.

Sadly, that MP thing is not really working as it should right now ... dem crashes.
