Dante's Inferno Demo

It was fun, the cinematics looked good, the voice actor can really show some emotion in that demo and some of the trailers I've seen.
So far, it looks like an awesome game to me, anybody else have any thoughts?

I read about the game in a magazine a while ago and immediately wanted to play it (mainly because it looks so incredibly twisted), but then was put off when I realised what genre of game it fell into.
My boyfriend played the demo the other day, however, and said it was pretty good, and I have to say it did look it

I don't know much about the game other than The Divine Comedy, the trailers, and the demo.

Would prefer a PC version but the Xbox360 will suffice.

@Obtusifolius: I think I'll be reading it this year in English. I'm hoping it's enjoyable, but I'm a little wary of the medieval Italian to modern English translation.

Lucky. I'm doing an English degree and the only decent authors I've done over the past three years have been Milan Kundera, Shakespeare, Chaucer and Dickens. Oh, and George Eliot. Now I sound like I'm boasting <_<
Anyway, I'm sure the translation will be fine... although translating verse from one language to another so that it still sounds half-decent must be hard.
It's the sort of book that, unless I'm forced to (you know, by my teachers), I'll end up never reading.
Paradise Lost is another one I'd like to read, but I'm so lazy these days when it comes to reading, it is quite pathetic

No, you sound perfectly un-boast-y. I agree with you on all counts, minus Dickens. I don't know...I just....despise him. Hated "A Tale of Two Cities" and "Great Expectations". From what my teachers have said, if I hate those, I hate everything else he's ever written. I have since begone a process of bleaching him from my brain.
(Also, I'm a Senior in High-School. All this talk of degrees is making me cry...I still don't have a major chosen, and I already have a scholarship from ASU!)

Yeah, it always sounds...forced. For the most part, it seems unavoidable.

I know EXACTLY what you mean.

I'm going to read Paradise Lost as well. I'm ready for my one point increase in speech!
(If you got that reference, you are AWESOME (Not that I'm implying you aren't already awesome...)!)

Hm, funnily enough I have read neither of those. I'm not a massive Dickens-humper, and have only read Oliver Twist and another one that I can't remember the name of (it's the only one not set in London, if that helps). He's quite funny, but his books can certainly drag. I appreciate his humour, though, it is similar to the type of humour I incorporate into my own writing.

Well I am merrily failing my degree, if it's any consolation
Just choose something half-decent, honestly. I am supposed to be good at English, but my God this course is so ****ing boring I could cry sometimes. However, if you are (unlike me) a semi-functioning, productive, motivated human being, then you will do fine with whatever degree you choose.
You want to know what I base my module choices on? Whether they involve a presentation of any kind. If they do, then there is no chance I'm going to do them.
Very sad, I know

And I am very sorry but I did not get the reference (although I am very awesome nonetheless)

It would be SO easy to manipulate that phrase for my nefarious deeds...

Sometimes I wish I was bad at stuff, so it would be an easier choice...Yeah, I know that sounds egomaniacal, but it's kind of true...(Well, I'm bad at Chemistry, but that hardly narrows it down.

Fallout 3. Good stuff.
Bah, sometimes I wonder if I'm a "college guy". I wish I was born one generation earlier, in a time when it was possible to make good money without a bachelor's.

You know what, I like it when people admit they are good at stuff. Flase modesty really pisses me off.

Hm, not that keen on Fallout 3... I did play it for around 100 hours and made precisely no progress through the story (I'm the sort of person who has to uncover every corner of the map, and in the end those subways just got too much for me).

And trust me, degrees have never been more useless (I say 'trust me', but what I am saying is probably bull****)

Heh...For a moment there, I though "flase" was some kind of fancy French word.

You know, Fallout 3 was pretty weird for me, too. I would play for a week, get pissed off, and resign myself to punching small children in the face. Strangely, I kept going back. Then trophies were introduced. Horrificly, they didn't make them retroactive, so I pretty much raged through my neighborhood, killing everyone who crossed my path. At least, that's what I would have done if I were less sane.

The problem is...ASU is all like, "Yo dawg, you got pretty OK grades! Here's $7,500 a year." How the hell do I turn that down knowing that a gajillion other people would nevereverevereverever get that chance? Having a conscious is really sinking my ship...
*Ahem*
Anyway, Dante's Inferno DOES feel quite button-mashy when compared to God of War. It's like playing Dynasty Warriors, but your less badass, and you can only play as one guy.

A bastardization of the poem? Really? That seems sad to say. It's based off the poem, sure, but I don't think it's brutalizing it that much. God of War clone, big deal, why not go with a gameplay that works? Most shooters are the same, but not much complaining done. God of War pretty much bastardized Greek mythology, but I don't remember too many complaints, it was still entertaining.
