Damn, not this thread again...
Kids, don't listend to Mega.
He's been indoctrinated.
Vanguards don't hide. They either roflstomp things, or die trying.
You sound like a bunch of the other numbskulls in this thread Deerber.
I play him the same as the 6/6/0/6/6 build that everyone and their brother uses... but now I have the option to detonate massive BE's and be safe if I chose to AND be more productive from hack circles.
Don't be afraid of change...
Well you know, that is exactly what I do not want in a vanguard. I don't want to be safe. I want to be in the enemies' face. That's what vanguarding means to me.
But hey, it's just a matter of taste, not much more. My post was not to be taken that seriously, really. Thought the indocrinated thing would give that away
Fair enough.
Although you did cherry pick 7 words out of the whole post to harp on... what about the other points I made? What about how very little I gave up for those benefits? What about how doing so affects pretty much nothing and still allows for standard Slayer playstyle? Why would you want to limit yourself? Why wouldn't you want to be able to detonate 3 BEs with a single cast? Why wouldn't you want to be able to stagger enemies from inside the hack circle through walls to slow them down before reaching the hack... and in a weakened state no less? This applies to escorts too, but slightly less.
You and many others are stuck in the paradigm of only being able to see things one way... and granted, that way is very good. But with my build... you can still play that way, and have another heavy hitting option in your back pocket for when it's more suitable to NOT CHARGE! I thought the example of Collector spawns littered with Seeker Plagues was a fine example of when to NOT CHARGE personally.
There are certainly other benefits, and you do give up very little for those.
The point is, I don't want those benefits, cause I don't have use for them.
Cause
there is no occasion in which it's more suitable to NOT CHARGE, in my opinion and in the way I play him. A collector spawn littered with seeker plagues is not a problem at all. Not with dat dodge, at least. During a hack/escort I can still charge out of the circle and dodge back into it before the next tick of the progress clicks in, so I don't even lose time.
That said, it's a personal choice. I can perfectly see why you would like to make such a choice, and the benefits it brings to the table. It's just not my cup of tea
