According to game lore,if a warden took a pinch of the ashes, would he or she be cured of the taint, yes or no ? By the same token, if a warden recruit took the ashes right after drinkin from the cup during the ceremony would they survive if they would otherwise have died ?

I'm not entirely sure...but it seemed as if the ashes were the catalyst to healing Eamon. It didn't seem like they simply sprinkled the ashes on him and he was cured.
