 I was reading this, where they say "we are exploring new directions, both on the gameplay and story fronts", and remembering this, which made me think that there's a chance they could give up on TPS and try a FPS approach on the next ME. What would you guys think of it? Would you like to see ME turning into a FPS?


 IMO, I love TPS, is one of the reasons I like ME so much. I would hate to see the franchise loosing this characteristc. I won't mind a FPS spin off, but I really, really hope the next ME will keep the third person view...


ps: I'm posting it on the MP forum because I think the MP players are the ones more interested on the combat gameplay 


edit: I'm looking forward to see ME running on the Frostbite 3 engine

They'll just go full blown TPS and completely remove RPG elements, because "that's what the fans want."

Third person is better for RPGs, like you're playing a character - you should be able to see them.

 no evidence at all, it's only a "what if", I want to see what the community think (and I hope that people will say "hell no!", so if what I fear is real, maybe Bioware will ready this and abort any FPS plans they have for the main franchise =P)

It's not that hard to make it so you can just change the camera.  I' wouldn't mind a FPS view, just because ME is a kinda  stupid TPS.  It's  a FPS that wants to be a TPS so the charahter takes up a third of the screen.

I'm out if they remove the RPG elements, but just moving the camera a foot isn'ta  big deal.

I would not be interested in COD in space. Considering all the games I like use either unreal or unity, it doesn't matter if the next mass effect uses frostbite, if its not a good game I won't play it. I get nervous about it when I read things like "we're trying new things and going in a new direction" WHY! Youre ME fan's like RPG's and we like cover TPS it sold millions they made so much $ everyone retired, so how could that not be a formula for success?

I hope that what they mean by new things and new directions is new things as a RPG mixed with TPS. I like ME this way.
