Not sure if this is a bug or part of the game -- but I can't seem to travel to Lothering anymore. On the travel map, it just shows up as a skull icon. Are there any other cities that might end up inaccessible as the game progresses?

Yeah once you leave Lothering you can't go back. You'll learn why as you play along.
The only other area is Ostagar...but that will change with "RtO" coming soon..I hope!

Actually, you can return to Lothering up until (I believe) you begin Redcliff or complete one of the 3 Gathering your army Quests (Elves, Dwarves, Mages). Once you have done any of those things, Lothering is consumed by the Blight.

You lose Lothering after you complete one army gather quest. so make sure you are done there as much as you want.
I began Redcliffe, needed to level to get a skill and went back to Lothering to finish a quest.
