-Firstly ME3 was made loooooonnnggg before BSI!!!...meaning BSI shud have better textures otherwise irrational games devs should all be **** slapped spending 4yrs to build that & it's still not that impressive...art direction is great though! But a 2013 release should have GREAT textures no brainer!
-second point art direction...BSI is slightly cel shaded in terms of style...ME trilogy has always gone for photo realism to mimic the real world (and what it would be like with aliens in it)
-there's nothing wrong with unreal but FB is EAs engine it just doesn't make financial sense to pay for an engine when you have a great one anyway? That's like owning a Ferrari but renting a Lamborghini everyday..??? Why would you do that? Exactly!...and even though this is a longshot the cheaper the game is to make for EA the cheaper it could be or DLC could be....but don't hold your breath on that point! :/
-the guy that asked about can FB do 3rd person I lol'd an engine can do anything you want it to do pretty much these days...but some excel in certain areas compared to others whether that's lighting or animations frostbite does large scale maps & destruction beautifully!!!!
Personally I'd like to see the new trilogy built on frostbite3.0 & whatever comes next with the addition of great destruction & huuuuuuuuge scaled planets for missions you'd be insane not to want that as an ME fan! Battlefield does huge landscapes very well because of this engine!

For instance, you could have people moving around at all times, not just changing rooms after missions. It'd look more like an active ship.

Even if we ignore the graphical fidelity, just imagine the awesome facial animations/body animations/lightning effects we will get in the next Mass Effect game. I, for one, can't wait! =D
I can't wait as well, I just hope the story and characters will be just as engaging as the trilogy.

I think they could make a really busy and highly populated city & not just one either, with the power of the next gen consoles getting slightly closer to PCs at least for a couple of years it's great because the consoles won't be so limited, this gen was terrible RAM wise I think ps3 had 512mb split which most people's phone would destroy now lol!! The 8gb gddr5 ram in the ps4 will be able to output much more on screen & have many many more things happening at once & all looking pretty at the same time!

why are graphics so important to people, I still play games that have 2d graphics and I find them so much better than most of the new generation games
i do agree graphics mean nothing if the gameplay is not up to sratch so i'd definitely want the balance to be quantity over quality if anything! The more details, more content, deeper missions & customisation etc is welcomed!
the reason frostbite3.0 excites me is that I can imagine the scale of cities & landscapes that will be produced & it could be so epic & have many more areas to visit, investigate & discover!!

first, here's the link - ME will be using Frostbite 3 for next title, not 2 as previously thought
http://www.pcgamer.c...ge-frostbite-3/
Now here's the demo
Honestly, this does not look very next gen to me, and is quite underwhelming. When Crytek, EA, Epic Games, etc. were showing off demos of their coming games in 2005 for next gen, I was quite taken aback, as were most. Killzone 4 even looks better than this, and it seemed like a very small step up from current gen.
Now that we recently found out through an accidental dev tweet that ME will be using this engine, what do you guys think? For me, there is definitely potential, but perhaps we are reaching a plateau in terms of graphical beauty. Thankfully BW games have more focus on story than crappy Call Of Fieldy Modern Battle games...
The best equivalency current gen would be ME1-Gears1.
Thoughts?
The question is, do you even have the hardware to run the trailer? It was done on a top end system on 3K resolution with an as-yet unreleased video card--the AMD 7990. I mean beggars can't be choosers

It's a video kiddo. I just need flash player, high speed internet, and a computer from this decade.
Furthermore, I didnt even watch the YT one, I downloaded the HD one from Gametrailers.
I'm not rendering anything, it's a video. Either that or somehow my comp is from 2020, able to run a photorealistic Dark Knight Rises featuring Popcorn last night

In which case it wouldnt matter because this thread is discussing the footage of the trailer. The game is obviously not available.

You're talking about the demo as if it's a N64 game? WTF? It looks incredible & it's not just everything looks pretty & the textures are hi-res....it's the DETAILS they're adding...the textures have more details, the dynamic lighting is incredible, the particle effects are looking amazing!! The animations are as realistic as I have ever seen in a game to date!
Also graphics don't mean anything if the game is a steaming pile of ****!! You could have something looking like AVATAR the movie but if the controls are **** & the gameplay is boring & flawed the game will suck! Graphics does not ensure a games success!! ME is a perfect example of this!
Can I lastly note that any high end pc users won't be impressed with the bf4 demo because they've been playing bf3 on ultra or crysis 3 on ultra so this demo isn't much different...BUT bare in mind the game isn't finished...it's the first footage we've seen....it's the first game being made with FB3.0 so further down the line the better the games will look once all optimisations have been learnt!! I still think wen you sit & play it you will realise the differences!
Also for 'next gen games' I have always said this gen won't have a huge leap forward in graphics because we are getting amazing graphics already what we need is detail, far better particle effects & draw distances!! Dynamic lighting, dynamic destruction! Super smart A.I!! Smooth FPS rates!slick animations! Better UIs etc
If this looks that bad you should quit gaming becoz you will never be pleased!
