In the past couple days, you've voted for your favorite and second favorite ME3 squadmate.  Now, in an attempt to further refine our poll result, you can vote for your THIRD favorite ME3 squadmate using the following link:

Once again, you are free to define the concept of "favorite" however you wish, whether it's combat effectiveness, character personality, or whatever.  Once again, this is for Mass Effect 3 squadmates only... so mention Kasumi if you want, but she's not a voting option.

The second place poll brought some clarification among the tightly packed standings for favorite character.  The big winner was Javik, who got very few first-place votes but did substantially better in the second place voting.  I brought that up to him.  His response?  "I am unimpressed.  In my cycle, the second place finisher was first to be killed by the Reapers."

1. Garrus (29% of first place vote, 28% of second place vote): it seems over half of all voters regard Garrus as one of their two favorite characters.  Well done, scarface.
2. Tali (21% of first place vote, 19% of second place vote): second place voting comes on strong for Tali, and she's pulling away from Liara and Kaidan in first place voting as well.
3. Liara (16% of first place vote, 11% of second place vote): Shepard's BBFF (that's Blue Best Friend Forever) according to bioware's PAX places third among BSN voters.
4. Javik (7% of first place vote, 16% of second place vote): Depending on the formula you use, Javik may be considered more popular than Kaidan.  I'm hoping further voting will help clarify this.
5. Kaidan (14% of first place vote, 5% of second place vote): Kaidan suffered the biggest dropoff among relatively popular first-place-vote-getters - perhaps because those that did not love him were more likely to leave him on Virmire.
6. Ashley (7% if first place vote, 6% of second place vote): vowed to improve her standings by demonstrating her combat prowess in the Armax combat arena.  She took up a good firing position and then spent the next five minutes attempting to activate the "Marksman" ability over and over again.
7. Vega (3% of first place vote, 9% of second place vote): The trilogy's "new guy" gets a bit of a boost in second place voting.  At least he's not...
8. EDI (3% of first place vote, 6% of second place vote): I had to disallow some votes in the polls after registering 4.7 quadrillion votes from the same IP address in the span of seven seconds late last night.  Nice try, EDI.

You really should have just made one topic and then just asked people to rank their top three companions. There is nothing stopping people from choosing Garrus (or anyone else) all three times and skewing your results. These polls will be flawed and won't show an accurate picture.

Guiltly as charged!  What else am I going to do?  Wait for the next DLC that's not coming?  Hold out for news of the next game that won't have any of my favorite characters in it?  Replay the game with the ending that depresses me so?  Nope.  Make polls.  Polls forever.

First: Kaiden Alenko, because he's my main Shepard's love interest, is also a sentinel like my Shepard, and is rather versatile in the powers department (Reave and Overload are awesome).

Second: Garrus Vakarian, long-range weapon specialist with my beloved Armor Piercing Ammo and is just awesome in general.

Third: Liara T'Soni, because she's awesome to biotic combo with, is a very good CC caster with Singularity and Stasis, and blows things up with Warp.
