I think I know what the final DA game is going to be about and what the final boss will be: a greater pride demon.

"Simple killing is a warrior's job. The real dangers of the Fade are preconceptions... careless trust... pride. Keep your wits about you, mage. True tests... never end."
The single line that made mage origin my favourite.

Last lines will be "The age of dragons has come to an end. Welcome to Griffon Age".

Well, if a Greater Pride Demon is the ultimate Big Bad, it really can't be that clever, it hasn't possessed anyone yet, and its not like someone like Uldred wouldn't love to be its bestie. Unless of course it turns out Flemeth is this uber demon, but then, why hasn't she posed such a massive threat to Thedas as of yet.

It hasn't possessed anyone enough yet because it doesn't care and realizes that possession is a risky proposition and it will be heavily weakened by having to use a physical body as a medium. But if the veil tears enough that it can cross over in it's true form... That is the better option.

AND BAM! An uber mystery was solved by the fans before the release date and thus, shall be probably retconned out if they have the time, or never be realized, if for the greater future.

Maker is a Greater Pride Demon. It explains a lot, and has a lot of smaller realizations here and there. The 'Golden City' was already corrupted before the Magisters arrived. What was Meredith calling upon that gave such crazy magical powers to a non-mage? The answer, right under you nose: the Maker.

It's probably safe to say, the Maker was one of the first magic users, and basically carved out the universe. Of course, being worshipped like a god builds up one hell of an ego, and thus: Greater Pride Demon possession, or just existing as a Pride Demon to begin with. So the Golden City was actually black, with corruption.
Of course, the Magisters proved a great threat, the fact that they could encroach upon the Maker's domain. So the Maker/Demon turned them into Darkspawn, to unleash his revenge. With holy power, using Andsrate as his Prophet, to establish the Chantry and commence a campaign to crush out all other magical wielders, to make sure that no one else would ever threaten his control and power.

So, funnily enough revelation, the Magisters, for whatever motive (most likely promises by the Old Gods), attempted to challenge the Greater Demons power, and were crushed for it, and the Chantry founded to ensure that no other Magi would ever be powerful like the Magisters again.

A good adition, and something that actually might justify the madness present in Dragon Age II: Meredith. The Knight-Commander called upon the Maker... and so the Maker answered. Even with some Pure Magic artifact, Meredith was a non-Mage and had no ability to sumon a Demon. If a Demon WAS summoned, through the artifact, then it would have simply taken over Meredith for its only motives, not let Meredith in full control fight a battle against Hawke.
The reason? The blessing/curse of the Maker. The Artifact may have only been a becon bright enough to warrent the Maker/Demon's attention, to Meredith. At the time, Meredith was trying to uphold the Chantry, to stop the Mages before they could break free of the Circle's control. Thus, their motives aligned. As mentioned above, the Maker has motive to stop the Mages from rising up, and thus, he/she/it granted Meredith some true semblence of power to face Hawk & 10 or so allies.

The shame about this fantastic plot line is, fan-fiction or not, is now that we've stated it here, it can no longer EVER be apart of a Dragon Age game once the writers/devs ever hear of it. Why? Because unless its already a solid part of Inquisition they can no longer write out, they will want to avoid confirming, or seemingly copying, fan-theories.

I take DA codex entries like WH40K cannon: "everything is cannon. Being cannon doesn't mean it's true.". The baroness was suppose to be this greater pride demon - she was this "doom an entire village for eternity" thing. but I'm sure a templar/inquisitorial kill team could handle it.

Srsly,if we learned anything, is take anything the chantry tells you with a cup of salt.

I'm not sure pride demons can gain power from taking pride in their own deeds. It seems like cheating.

All templars have been suggested to be latent mages. Mind you, I'm assuming that, with the exception of dwarves, most everyone is a latent mage who're just not powerfull enough to manifest their powers. It would explain why mages keep being born to non-mages families.

Final boss will take someone important hostage (empress/divine or both) and for the last part of the game you can have 2 scenarios:

1) Storm the city/castle with your many allies (you'll strike there and try to secure that, while you will be our shield in frontal attack..."siege" planning), kill the boss, but the hostage/s will be killed in the process which will lead to many problems for the realm that will be described in the epilogue.

2) Get yourself out of the picture by making boss think that you're dead. For that you will be chased into Deep Roads where some of your allies will potentially die. Get out using information acquired at some point in game. Sneak attack at the castle, rescue, final battle, realm saved. Some companions are Darkspawn food...

Both endings have  + and -.

Next DA game must be set somewhere far away, so that the hostage dead/alive choices would not be felt so much.

Boss - some power hungry traitor... with some powers.
