the op's observation was not refuted about a month ago when a clear majority assigned qmarksman the truly most worstest in another thread.
qmarksman is a weakling. needs to spam marksman and then if you can aim better, now with the "aid", decent (who needs aim assistance?). his other power is the slow casting tacjunk... similar to hominggrenades but difference is hominggrenades eventually hit for massive damage but tacscan does nothing but debuff for potential damage.
the qmark idea is to what??? press marksman and destroy and when bosses show up, press superslow tacscan before... and then wait awhile before pressing marksman to truly rip apart everyone for 6 seconds? all other kits can do better without needing to "redbull" up with marksman or take a second to debuff before doing real damage. gold games require faster actions unless you like being in the background.

In Gold.. if I face 3 - 4 mooks as Turian Soldier,
I can crowd control using Proximity mine, quickly take out an enemy or two.. and still take some hit from the other enemies and shield left over as I activate my marksman awesomeness to kill everything in the path.
Proximity mine is my all time favorite power. It helps teammates great deal as crowd control / combination tool regardless of situation and distance.
As Quarian marksman.. I really have to be very careful.. more often using cover, avoid shots, taking enemy strictly one at a time... hoping nobody is shooting at me. I really wish Quarian Marksman had some kind of grenade instead of Sabotage.. then he might have been really really fun to play.
For the side note.. My Volus Sentinel first run, it was with Harrier. I kinda hated how pets were useless against Collector as one shot from Praetorian destroy all the pets... but dat Harrier.. even great on Volus since they cannot cover.
