Obviously, nobody is going to look like their face models when you factor in that the game is rendering their facial expressions which are different from the models. When they do the face scan, it doesn't account for the way their face ACTUALLY moves. Costa is putting on expressions we've never even seen Kaidan pull off (smirking and grinning wide). If we had a straight up mug of Luciano it would be a near perfect fit. 

Also consider the fact that they aged him a bit in the game. Similar to how they made Murray blue, and gave Strahovski dark hair and eyebrows. Doesn't help that hair doesn't render well which is why Yvonne has a bad case of bad camera angles - her dark voluptuous (and unsilky) hair is making her face fatter.

...and if ANY of the gents in this thread have an eye on Mr. Costa....HE'S MINE....my boyfriend will just have to accept that fact. XD

I thought Kaidan was only supposed to be 30, why would they age him? costa's way older than that.

P.S. you can keep costa, id rather have a young vanderloo.

Kaidan is 32 in ME1. So that makes him just about 35/36 in ME3.

Its really no surprise, he takes care of himself. he's probably a perfectionist. Its a burden to live with perfectionism but at least our obssesion keeps us looking good longer. 

Edit: also kids take a heavy toll on you too and he never had any.

From certain angles, they look very similar. They just didn't animate Kaidan's face to be exactly like Luciano's.

Poor guy, does he know what he's letting himself in for?? (I bet a part of him loves it though.) He's going to get eaten alive if/when he turns up at conventions.

I love that he's possibly meeting up with Raphael Sbarge, though. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall for that meeting!

Hahah, Mr. Costa is gay is part of the reason why I love mShepard/Alenko so much. Too bad Kaidan and mShep can't get together in ME1 and ME2 without mods.

it's not modding as such since it is in the game files. Doesn't seem like it would've taken much to patch it began though but at least it is recognised in ME3.

Depending on how you roleplay. The lack of audio clips with some scenes really taken me out of my RP experience. I guess the relationship always starts in ME3 for me. Then again, I romance Alistair with a mod file, so it's not really for me to say what is and isn't canon.

They took the time to record this, so it's canon enough for me. Yeah I can see how the muted and generally borked bits especially in ME1 can throw you off. I don't think I could wait all the way until ME3 for my mshenko, I'm too weak.

If they have gone that far to record the extra lines, they could have recorded all the muted lines. I do agree that being forever alone for 2 games weren't all that fun, especially when the other squadmates keep hitting on you.

I hope we get at least 2 options and not stuck with just one. Choices are always better. My Shepard would probably be forever alone if Cortez is the only option.
