Do atlas double/triple hits happen because your rounds hit, then penetrate, then hit again??
If so AP rounds better i guess....
PS:Just a curious question

Yes. :wizard:

I heard that ravagers are also prone to this, so does the length of the target has anything to do with it or you get free hits on any target ?

With atlases what happen is that you hit the canopy and hit the weak spot in the back after penetrate.
With Ravagers i'm not sure how it is to be sincere.

So that's what's happening!

So far, it only seems to work for me with AP ammo. Would a gun AP mod or a gun with natural piercing also cause the extra damage against an Atlas?

With Ravagers is just like the old double hit bug on the atlas. Basicly, you can penetrate through their top and  hit them again(the swarmer bag is a seperate location it seems) because they are shaped like a letter C.  It's easist to do if you firing downward a bit, but you can do it from the front if you aim below the eye, as they do curve up enough. You can double hit anything where you can get your shot to pass through them and hit them again. You can do it with normal guys with the arms and legs also, but it's really difficult to do obviously.  Anytime you can get a shot to hit the same model twice you can gt a double hit, but most of them move to fast to make it really practical.

1st... why in the hell would you use the same mods.... thats just ...
2nd... if you payed attention to the spreadsheet, everything you guys are talking about was already done...wtf.. in the test peddro used IR with HVB and APR with extended barrel (thats 25% MORE DAMAGE) and incendiary still pulled ahead.

anyway, I don't go by eyeballing anything, (somthing I learned from headshotting bosses with a black widow X on drell with full headshot/weapon/ammo buffs and still only seeing 1 bar pop off.) As the spreadsheet indicates that I gave a link to eariler, I'll go by actual #s and FACTS instead.

Now if someone can do a actual test with full spread out #s like peddro did with a spitfire with

1.
APR IV - Assault Rifle Extended barrel V(+25% damage barrel)

2.
Incendiary Rounds IV with HVB V (90% Armor negation, penetration, yada yada)

against the same enemy, bullet for bullet damage and incendiary DoT for bullet damage listed JUST like peddro has, then I'll say ok... armor piercing rounds are better. Anything besides that isn't worth the "weight".

But since peddro actually ALREADY DID THE TEST and his #s support my argument and experience, I'ma continue to believe the #s rather than "I think I got a better time."^_^

..................So, you say that if you equip Incendiary ammo on Typhoon it will take down a boss quicker than if you use AP ammo?

I can see this debate isn't going anywhere especially since I've already shown you that this statement...

RedJohn wrote...

Doesn't matter if it does more damage overall, what matters here is the time it takes to take down a boss.

If
you want incendiary to outdamage AP ammo against armor you have to wait
for the massive DoT and that means the damage is not done instantly,
therefore, AP ammo is better in that case because it takes down a boss faster.

Is WRONG.

Incendiary outdamages APR because the damage after around 3 seconds stacks so high that your actually doing more damage from DoT than a your weapon is dishing out. (For weapons like the spitfire/typhoon/PPR ect.)
Look at the link to the spreadsheet for a phaestons IR vs APR. The incendiary rounds damage begins within 0.5 seconds of shooting the target. That means there is no "waiting."

Edit:
and yes you will take down a boss faster with incendiary on a Typhoone, spitfire and rapid RoF weapons like it, rather than with APR. Especially since more than likely you'll be using a HVB to still get the penetration bonus of APR anyway and not only hit something like an atlus multiple times, but, I'f i'm correct (have to check), apply IR DoT multiple times from a single bullet as well.

You really missunderstood a lot of things.

Incendiary don't even take down bosses faster than Warp ammo and you say it takes faster than AP?, Come on!, stop talking about the spreadsheets and go to play the game, test it as I told you and record it, and come here again.

Also, LOL you said AP ammo is worthless.

I am really wondering if you think that with incendiary ammo you will take down an atlas faster than with AP ammo :P

I have an idea, let's make another thread about it different from this one, this is about how "good spittfire is"
Thread done, go there and tell me why http://social.biowar.../index/16427688
