Did anyone feel somewhat depressed after the party in Citadel?

I did.  What did it for me was the scene where everyone heads back to the Normandy after the party.  It almost makes the rest of the game too depressing to play.

:crying:

I felt a burning inferno inside me that was locked away in a trans dimensional building and left adrift in limbo suddenly had an extra temperature added to it. Temperature remained the same.

So... depression? no, I got pass that stage. I got stuck in Anger.

It's not too depressing if you stop after the DLC. Why bother with the rest of it anyway if you get nothing out of it?

No. I felt satisfied. I played it post ending. I ended the game at breakfast with everyone recovering from hangovers.

I felt good. Very good. As it should be when you beat the last mission and get well rewarded for it.

I was very satisfied since I played it post high EMS Destroy

Shep lives, Reapers destroyed, EDI and the Geth alive because crazy AI is crazy and didn't want me to blow him up.

Quite happy.

Clone Shep was having a separate party - the one where Chakwas, Allers, Ken & Gabby, Legion and Mordin were tearing up the dancefloor.......

What I'm going to do from now on.  Easily fits into my headcannon and the nihilism and absurdity of trusting the child is just finally gone.

The first playthrough when I played the citadel DLC before the ending, yes I felt depressed.

The second playthrough, not as much, but that ending scene of the DLC still gets me everytime. So sad.

a little bit yeah but if citadel is the best we can get then it was pretty damn good so while I can't get completely over the endinf I think this is as good as it gets.

No. I liked it, in a bittersweet, 'one last dance' sense. They were a team, they'd had a week of shore-leave while the galaxy at large prepared for the final phase of the war, and now... well, Shakespeare's Henry V said it best:

"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more."

Knowing that it is very likely the end of Shepard and crew? Yeah, I found that somewhat depressing. They shouldn't be done yet was still plenty of story there.

It emphasises the crappiness of what's to come. However I'd have still felt a bit down if the rest of ME3 had been utterly brilliant, simply because it's the last we're getting of these wonderful characters. And that's good.

It took me 2 days to get over it. It's just sad to say goodbye to all the characters that we all grew to love. It felt like someone stabbed me with an omni blade when Shepard and LI said their final words, knowing that the inevitable end was due. "Shepard. You---you will win. And when you do. I'll be waiting." *cries* If only the DLC expanded on destroy, then I would have been so much happier. I still think about it everytime I log into MP. Kaidan! Rescue me already, damnit!

Played it after MEHEM. No depression, it actually felt like an ending.

The Citadel DLC - both the mission content and the party content - is nearly playable without remembering that there's a war on. There are very few references to it. The very end of the DLC brings you back to the war though, and back to the crappy ending that's coming.

I had started a new playthrough when I learned about the citadel DLC. I used that playthrough to go through the DLC end to end, including the "back to the ship" scene. Then I restarted the DLC, did mission again, did party again (I had missed some conversations and visits the first time around), bummed around in the combat arena a bit, and then stopped BEFORE the "back to the ship" scene. That's how I want to remember the trilogy.

Also FWIW I used to play a fair bit of multiplayer as a way to keep myself immersed in the universe while waiting for more single player content but I haven't touched it since my DLC play-through.

I keep thinking about maybe starting the whole trilogy over again. Maybe a different class and/or a different LI... maybe go more renegade than I normally do. But my mind keeps coming back to the ending and my desire to play just fades away.

That's the way I feel about it too.  I really want to start the trilogy from the beginning, I just can't bring myself to do it.  Just finished my second playthrough with the MEHEM mod, did the Citadel part before Cronos but kept multiple saves so I can go back and party again if I want.

The MEHEM mod made the end much much better for me.  Felt like Shepard and company got everything they set out for since the beginning.

I might need a few parties just so I can feel good about wanting to run through the trilogy again.  However I've sort of lost my will to game in general, just because the ME world and the characters are so damn awesome.  In my mind nothing could top it, and it's depressing to think I've lost characters that I could consider as "friends" for the past 6 years.

If you need headcanon or a mod. to end a game satisfyingly, there's something wrong. And indeed there is. Beat ME 1 about 12 times, ME 2 about 20. ME 3, twice. Also have all DLC for the first two, only Leviathan for 3, then thought, "Oh to hell with it, it's dead."

...my god I remember ME1. I've never replayed a game so much as that one. I picke it up used. I finished it and I immidiately bought the DLC. Kept replaying it over and over. I finished it with my soldier and then I started again. Just wanted more lol
