they need to step up the bug fixing and quality. and especially pay more attention to their animations. missing, warping, spinning, flipping..twisting heads, eyes going crazy...

audio conversations dropping out..

just so many bugs and terrible quality to bother to list. they obviously dont care about it

Damn it, people. What part of "no spoilers" do you not understand? Luckily I was able to catch myself before reading anything of importance, but dear Lord, please learn to read.

Looks like I'm done with this thread. Thanks for the opinions and feedback, all. Time to go finish ME3!

I actually never got a chance to be truly disappointed by the ending, since once I realized ME3 multiplayer was not optional and single player was not standalone I stopped playing the game. So Krystynne Shepard's story will never end, so long as I'm alive to continue it. Even now she is roaming the galaxy somewhere on an eternal quest to save us, she will in fact live to do so, and there isn't a thing Bioware can do to change that.

What do I think of Bioware after the series? Great company that found out as others do that "art" is relative and that money and integrity are inversely proportional. Something that any aspiring faceless conglomerate must learn, or else be forever relegated to small, niche, intensely loved and respected pauper-like company.

Replaying the first two games, and much of the third, I'm reminded of how much I love the series, and that's all down to BW. Sadly, it also reinforces how irritating the ending was. Soooooo close to nailing a perfect trilogy. If the rest of the series hadn't been so mind-bogglingly brilliant then the sting at the end of ME3 wouldn't seem anywhere near as bad I'd imagine.

Exactly.

When you are delivered Gold on a semi consistent basis its always a shock when you are served up **** instead.

My opinion of the company after playing the series in its entirety...

They employ some very talented people and create some of the best games on the market but can't accept valid criticism and just like any company in existence they have people in charge who make some very stupid decisions.  Just like any company in existence they have people in their employ who will go along to get along, people who are passionate about the franchise and people who just DGAF. The ending of ME3 and the PR response is proof of that.

They are just as capable of lying to make a sale as any company so as a consumer it is my responsibility to never believe what they say about a product but instead rely on the true consumers before making a purchase.

Bioware is capable of making great games and great endings to their games.  But sometimes they don't.  So Buyer beware.  Bioware will not fix all the glitches, and bugs in their game so always buy on PC and rely on the modders.  GOD BLESS YOU MODDERS

And then even when they suck they are still awesome at what they do.

They have given me my two favorite game series (Kotor and Mass Effect). The ending was frustrating, but in the end the journey is what is most important. And that journey was fantastic.

I think it is sill for people to blame Bioware for the ending. I didn't like it and as much time as I put in to the series, they put so much more. Yes they are getting paid to do it, but it is still their series. I guess from their perspective maybe they were a little ticked off that people weren't appreciating the entire series but were focusing on that 15 minutes.

Anyways, got sidetracked there. They same day costing DLC didn't sit well with me, but I still am a huge fan.

They did a lot right with the series...but that ending. I don't want a beat a dead horse, so I'll just say I still think they make some of the best games out there. I hope they learn from their mistakes and continue to make excellent products. :)

EA has now won "Worst U.S. Company" in 2011 AND 2013! It's a dream come true!

Read some of the comments from their higher ups. Absolutely delusional bunch of guys running that company.

I'm looking forward to what Bioware does with the next Mass Effect game, they had a few missteps in my opinion, like the lack of the neutral dialogue option in ME3, a certain photoshopped picture, and the Extended Cut DLC should have been part of the game to begin with, but in general the Mass Effect Trilogy is my favourite series of this console generation and Bioware get bonus points from me for releasing ME1 on the PS3 even after five years, I don't think many other developers would have done the same.

Well put. These are my general feelings as well.

SWTOR wasn't what I expected, DAII was alright, but not what I expected, ME3 ... I don't know - did a lot of things better than 1 and 2, but did certain important things wrong, that made me lose connection to that experience I got from 1 and 2. As soon as I beat ME2, I played it again, right after - played it so many times, ME3, just once. Haven't even touched the new DLC yet, since I'm going to replay all three one last time... and I'm glad they finally gave closure to Jack's arc, but I don't expect the same type of quality in future titles. So I'll hold out till I see fan reaction and if anything peaks my interest.

Maybe it's nostalgia, but Bioware doesn't seem to deliver quite like they did back in the day or maybe I've raised my expectations too high as gaming has grown.. probably the latter, but that doesn't excuse their faults as well.

I love BioWare. Are they perfect? No. Am I a satisfied customer? Yes. In contrast to most other game developers, I still feel BioWare is among the best, and one the few that I still want to give my money.

With DA2 and ME3, it seems that they're headed in a direction that'll lose me as an audience member if they keep moving closer to that line. If they go backwards a bit, they'll keep me around; if they "streamline" any further, then I'll simply lose interest. No maliciousness intended, just the facts about my tastes. I enjoyed both games in measured doses, but it's not the studio's best work.

Yeah, because they are SOOO much worst then BoA, which defrauded customers of millions and illegally evicted miltiary people while serving over seas.  This is the best rebuttal to that I've yet seen.
http://www.dorkly.co...pany-in-america

My opinion?  Well, let's see.  Once again they've made a game that I truly enjoyed.  Sure, there were problems with it.  OH....MY...GOD!  Something that ISN'T perfection?!?  How can this POSSIBLY be!  Why, EVERY.  OTHER.  COMPANY.  IN.  THE.  WORLD.  produces flawlessly perfect products after all!  I mean, can you name ANY other game that has...has...bugs?!?  Well, other then EVERY SINGLE GAME that is.

I look at the product in it's entirety.  Were the flaws so severe they outweighed my enjoyment of the product?  In this case, no where close.  I don't worry about asinine thoughts like, "Well, they COULD have done THIS..." or "It COULD have been better!"  because those 2 statements are true of EVERYTHING.  Tolkein could have had Gandalf get an Eagle to drop the ring into Mt. Doom.  He didn't.  Rowlings could have had Dumbledore duel Voldemort with claymores; she didn't.  THIS is the direction the authors of the game wanted to go.  'nuff said.   And EVERYTHING can be better.  LOTR could have been better, and it's considered one of the best Fantasy series of all time.  So?  Things are what they are.

I believe strongly in corporate Darwinism.  If I like a product, I will continue to buy from that establishment.  If they start producing crap, I stop giving them my money.  I don't hang around whinging about it.  I don't try to convince other people that they're wrong and I'm right and thus they should hate everything I hate.  I simply stop supporting that business.  I wish more of you haters would do the same instead of haunting forums like Marley's ghost, constantly rattling your chains in the hope that you can convince every one else that YOU are right and THEY are wrong to like the series.  After all, it's not about the game...it's about YOU.  Your need for validation. Your need to be 'part of the group'.  Which is why so many of you go on about how "WE the playerbase..." as if you speak for everyone.  You do not.  You speak ONLY for yourself.  So, if you really think Bioware is a sucky company, speak with your wallet.  Stop giving them money.

Bioware is in a very sensitive position. They are not at a point where they can make huge mistakes like they did with ME 3, DA2 and SWTOR. They need to show they can learn and get back to writing stories with...wait for it...good treatment of romance characters.

I laugh when people mention Bank Of America. After EVERYTHING that's happened with BoA people continue to use them. Their own faults.

Nope. Haven't had time to pick up where I left off (the first "real" mission you get at the Citadel). Was only able to play the multiplayer for a few hours, as well. Aside from the lag, wasn't too bad and raised my readiness quite a bit. It will probably get old after 40-50 hours, though. Thank God I can't say the same for Mass Effect's campaign, lol.

I have massive respect for them and what they created with the ME series. Loved every moment of it. I have been gaming for over 20 years and nothing comes close to my appreciation for the ME games.

I am extremely excited for what they have in store for us.

ME 1 on a PC - Absolutely brilliant game - from the scale of the citadel and other cities being able to access and go anywhere you want, the skills/weapons tree/upgrades, the ability to converse with many characters and continue to do so, the missions and the entire story line. The list goes on ..my only gripes with ME1 - the Mako could be driven up a 90 degree mountain, the landcsapes were poor and the Geth too easy to kill even in Hardcore mode and perhaps the ending could have been harder. Taking out Saren was a little too easy.

ME2 - An epic game but only after playing ME1 do you realise there's core elements to the game that are missing, like being able to walk off the Normandy, access the hull of the ship, customise your team's armour/weapons skill tree, access to the Citadel is tiny  and CSEC is simply 2-3 characters, theres no mention of any other specters, Cerebrus has gone from an Alliance Black Ops unit thats gone rogue in ME1 and morphed into something else, etc. Shadow Brooker was an epic DLC and seriously adds to the game, but the lack of interaction with Zaheed and Kasumi after completing their missions was a bit of a dissappointment. The team in ME2 are just fab and I wish there was even more interaction with them. The Geth again.. too easy to beat. Not being able to go back to Faros or Vovera was not good . The Arrival DLC .. well .. I thought the idea behind it was excellent but it was and is a terrible addition to the game.. it could and should have been as good as LoSB. The ending to ME2 is epic.

ME 3 - well, where do you start.. I've only played mE3 twice on the PS3 - and both times on hardcore and its ok but nothing on the level of ME2 or 1. The Prothean and Leviathan should have been in the game at release and not as a DLC. Both add to the story and I can't see how they should have been left as an add on and can't wonder how the Prothean gets such a small part in the game. For those that hadn't played arrival - there should have been an update or short comic story for Arrival to help clarify why Shep was locked up at the start of the game, without it the beginning of ME3 makes no sense. I've just purchased the PC version of ME3 and will get Leviathan/Citadel before I start to play and see if that improves the game. The ending well .. even with the update (agree with a lot of what AngryJoe stated) .. it leaves a lot to be desired .. I personally think the "indoctrination" theory has a lot going for it .

Lets hope that ME4 is more like ME1+ME2.... totally open world RPG, amazing characters  and a totally kiss ass story line!

Y0-Y0

PS.

Why can't the PC version of ME3 allow you to hoslter your weapon .. I realise there was a limitation with the console versions but little things like that shouldn't cripple the PC version of the game esp when your rig is more than up to it.

Bioware are artists. If you enjoy their artists work buy it, if you don't, don't buy it. They don't need you as customers if it means losing their artistic integrity. That's what I took away from the game.
