Yeah... I'm at 42 out of 60 and close to giving up. Sadly I don't as much anymore unless my friends are on, and since I changed my sleep schedule to be more, well, normal, most my friends are no longer on at the same time I am ):

Oh and N7 Mastery is the only challenge I have left for BotB, which makes it sadder.

NO! Don't give up... I'm at 41... Are you on Xbox? In case, send me the friendship request, GT is frimar21, and let's see who will finish first :-D

I just bought tons of recruit packs. Admittedly, you will end up with tons of level one consumables, but you will always have stuff to equip.

The fact that you hate it means you are sane

It's not a bad challenge. Always promote your lvl 20s before buying any packs. Don't be scared to take a lvl 1 into a silver (burn some equipment if you feel like you need it). You really learn the ins and outs of a skill when it is the only one you have points in!

If you can solo gold, you can PROBABLY take a level one character into a gold match and not be too bad assuming you use good loadouts and equippment.

I've been doing it lately and having little trouble... that usually gets you right to level 8 after one game.

You dont have to play as a level 1 and onwards. I have done a guide for N7 Mastery.

Make sure you private your profile during your N7 mastery rise, learn from the top guys.  It won't seem suspicious, trust me.

Yes, long a grindy. I decided to just bring level 1s into gold with decked out equipment for this. Spammed quite a few recruit packs as well.

You know, only specing the destroyer.(Missle glitch)  Or abusing the point glitch.

A few of the top n7 guys are confirmed to have done this over the year, just expect it.

I'm on my second round.

I don't know why, but the N7HQ didn't recognize four of my promotions. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

However, Saminator has a good tact for this.

I haven't tried this but it seems effective.

I enjoy taking my level 1 adept into a public bronze match and outscoring the high level guys slumming bronze. Singularity, Warp rinse and repeat with judicious application of the executioner pistol sporting the AP and power amp.

BW really should have tied a credit award to promoting. Perhaps 100,000 credits would have encouraged more promotions.

Promote when you've got 1 or 2 million saved up. By lots of packs.
Lately I've been going reserve packs because I've had lots of luck with UR's

You'll pick up a few character cards along the way, and many of your classes will be at a decent enough level to take to silver or even gold.

This. But buy recruit packs too, they spread the XP more evenly then reserve packs. Of course, it depends on the money you have, for 2 mill you can buy plenty of reserve packs. For lets say 200k I would buy recruit packs.

Recruit packs are more efficient money wise but I gave up because of the time. Do know how long it takes to open 200K worth of recruit packs? ugh

You can combine the lower difficulties with the terrible weapon challenges however.  Less bad if you bring an avenger to silver.

Also worth mentioning that you really want U/U games rather than pre-select map/enemy. U/U/S against non collectors can get you 250k exp which takes you to lvl 8. A gold game with preset enemy and map won't get you much more. U/U is worth +40% exp, and you get another small exp bonus from being at max galactic readiness. My advice would be to host so you get U/U games or only join lobbies that are set to U/U.

I really wish I'd thought to do this when I was doing the N7 challenge.  I'm going back and completing the terrible weapons challenges just for fun since I had more guns than challenges required for the banners and boy is it annoying.  Especially the shotguns, I feel like it's taking forever to get the katana, eviscerator, and scimitar challenges done.  I think because on gold, while you get more points per kill, you get a lot fewer gun kills.

Anyway, yes I hated the N7 master challenge too, the only time I felt the game was a grind.  And that was WITH buying recruit packs too...I'll never promote again, I swear.

This.  As it stands, it provides absolutely no benefit.  For example, in MW2 (Call of Duty), if you promoted/prestiged, you were rewarded with an extra custom class.

For those unfamiliar with COD, you can create 5 custom classes.  It allowed you to keep weapon setups; it's kind of like the Mass Effect equivalent of a power build/setup.  You could quickly select it (e.g., Poison Strike Cabal build with a Wraith) before jumping into a game without having to set it up again.  For some people, 5 classes weren't enough to accommodate all of the builds/setups you want to save.  Promoting/prestiging awarded 1 extra class with each time you did it.

Our promotion system should provide something.  Maybe an extra build point for every 3 promotions, with 3 point max or something?  Idk.  Anything.

Meh.  That's kind of nice, but I'd prefer a benefit that can be used in MP.

yeah the challenge system was a rush job. Still fun, but the only tangible award is just more points for brag rights (which I dont care bout) & banners (which I'm a sucker for).

I was kidding.  It's not even "kind of nice"!
