Don't forget that epilogues are hearsay and rumors so it is quite possible for them to appear. It will be a shame if they don't. Wynne could be dead or not recruited in Origins, the same with Shale, and yet they still appear in Asunder. However, will they? I doubt it. I would love it if they could appear.

Really like the cover art! I'm really hoping this one will be out on audio book. I was sad when the last one wasn't. I have a decent book collection, but I love it when I can finish a book while working. Takes me forever to get through one when I work all day and then game or do art at night. >_>

Oh, good, so they moved back the release date for DA3.

In the meantime though. GIMMIE. *Throws money at the screen*

I would love to see Shianai again. She's one of those minor characters that I hope to see follow up with.

If your warden's Bann of the Alienage, does anyone else think Shianni becomes Bann after the warden disappears?

Considering how bad the developers planned for things to go if Shianni became Bann of the Denerim Alienage (i.e. Bann Shianni's murder) I hope not.

It could be retconned (ans as far as I see it wouldn't be a real retcon, since it seems tha to get the slide you have to use mods).
Other than that, while I think that it's horrible that she got to be killed in that way, I think this outcome was easy to imagine, given the circumstances. All the races in DA share one common trait: a lot of them are racists. Humans wouldn't accept so easily a elf bann. As dalish wouldn't accept a full human in their clan (a lot of them didn't want Fenyrel in their clan, and he was an half-elf).
That's why it's incredibly stupid to nominate Shianni, who is not that strong or resilient to face the mob or whatever killed her. . The elf Warden who become bann doesn't have the same problem because he's the hero of Ferelden, and people are intimidated/afraid of him. They know that it would end badly if they try to challenge him.

It is sad to see that David isn't going to write the next book, but I hear Patrick is really good and all I ask is that they proof-read the book, I'll be much happier even before I buy the book.

I'm trying to picture alienage elves facing Chevaliers. It's not pretty.

I'm really looking forward to it! David Gaider is (of course) always an amazing writer for the Dragon Age novels, but I'm very excited to see Patrick Weeke's twist to the universe. I was very impressed by his non-BioWare novel "The Palace Job" (very good read, for any avid book readers out there), and his writing for Mass Effect was top-notch. Gotta love Mordin. :)

I'm wondering if Morrigan will crop up in this novel? Didn't she run of to Orlais at some point in one of the slides from Origins?

What if... she infiltrated Celene's court, convinced her to back off Ferelden because monumental change was coming and Orlais and its army needed to be prepared to face it at full strength? Consequently, that's gotten Celene in some hot water with the Nobility and compound that with problems with the elves and Circle of Magi and Chantry now she's being ousted?

What do you call a cavalry soldier in a very tight alley?

I'm really excited to hear this news.  I loved Weekes' "The Palace Job" and loved his work in Mass Effect III (Rannoch was my favorite). Can't wait! :D

I saw this yesterday on Weekes Twitter account-- https://twitter.com/...563946726543360

Says he's currently doing rewrites for The Masked Empire. I really hope its out in July like Barnes and Noble says.

Weekes is a very good writer (imo). But I admit, I'm troubled by the fact he's not previously worked in the Dragon Age department before.

The books and comics tend to follow the 'canon' Origins route though.

I love the update of him rewriting the story :), I want to see his writing style.

Also, will this guy be a part of the Dragon Age writing team now?
