The gold solos will suck. I'm leaving them until the end so I'll have as many URs unlocked as possible first.
Just cheat. Kroguard with Armored Compartments vs Geth on Giant. That's what all my friends who hate soloing did. You can get cleartimes not too far off your average Gold PUG run. Reegar with Incendiary if you REALLY hate solos.

Hell, in theory someone could get N7 mastery just by spending real $$$ and buying recruit packs, and never play a match.
Speaking fer m'self, the real limiting reagent was the massive number of 200 wave requirements. The weapons and powers were easy peasy. N7 Mastery just required promoting all but one level 20 at the end of the night. Spectre and Combat Mastery came by just playing naturally and perhaps paying a little more attention to grabs or melee.
It was the 200 waves that took eons. So really, if you're going for BoTB then don't try to force it. Don't solo grind Golds with specific weapons or powers. That's not what's going to be holding you up in the long run. Some weapon challenges, like the SMG mastery, feel really painful. But it's basically possible to get that whole thing done while doing a single 200 wave component. And there are a LOT of 200 wave challenges. Enough that you could missile-speed run through 90% of them never firing your gun or using a power and that would still probably take longer than the weapon or power based challegnes.
