If you marry Celene, you wouldn't become the emperor. She's the empress, so you'd become something like "empress consort" or whatever.King Cousland wrote...
I realise that Inquisition's too far in development to begin requesting stuff now, but would anybody else like to see another situation where the PC could marry for political purposes? Since it seems like we'll be heading to Orlais in the midst of a civil war, supporting either the empress or the Grand Duke in return for a power-sharing deal sealed with marriage is something I'd like to see, particularly if it had more impact than the epilogue slide in Origins (I wouldn't even mind NPCs commenting something like, "You're the emperor!" if you marry Celene).

Sure, sure. Although, technically speaking, if she was desperate enough I could see her agreeing to establish a diarchy with you as emperor (though I'm not optimistic enough to see that being implemented). Plus, "emperor consort" doesn't have quite the same ring to it, especially for the commoners.

Yeah, I support this. My first playthrough of Origins, I honestly was thinking what would be best for the country, and thought me and Anora would help Ferelden. I love ideas like that, but man I hated ending my romance with Leliana...
No reason not to keep her as a royal mistress
I felt bad telling Morrigan (though she seemed rather keen on being a prince's mistress) but ended up abandoning Anora in the end when I went through the Eluvian with her.

You know it did come across my mind, because I can't imagine Anora being the romantic sort...

You're right, I wrote "empress" when I meant "empreror." Yeah, it'd technically be "prince consort," but it doesn't have the same ring to it.XM-417 wrote...
@DeadpoolMK:Empress consort would be a title for a wife of an Emperor. While Emperor consort would be the title for a husband of a Empress or queen.Which is Normally just referred to as Prince consort, apparently. As this is about another DAO type political marriage, those should be the titles you would end up with depending on the protagonist's gender.
On the other hand, this is the DA world we're talking about. Maybe they don't go by the same titles royalty does (or did, in most cases) in our world.
I don't really care what they do, so long as they're consistant about it. BioWare's inconsistancy with Alliance ranks in the ME series was a real point of annoyance for me. Sure, it's not vital to the game or anything, but it gets confusing when the same company who created the rank system won't even abide by it (and in other cases, completely disregards it).

Is this what is being asked for? They are the ultimate power couple, after all.

A setup like that could also solve this problem! Moustalker, you're a genius!

My canon Warden was very happy to marry Anora and I'd love for my Inquisitor to have the same chance.

Really? You already can do that in Origins. So you'll play an entirely new game just to have the same result of becoming King/Queen/Emperor yada yada yada? You also are a noble in DAII, literally through lineage and then reality after the expedition. And don't forget you can become Viscount. To each their own I guess.

My female Warden couldn't marry Anora.
(And I'm gonna keep hoping for this kind of scenario until a queen/princess/empress/whatever says 'Screw it, I do what I want' and marries my FemPC despite of everything speaking against it. Because of reasons.)
Not to mention that we also defeat some kind of big bad in every game. And we still play an entirely new game just to do exactly that again.
