OK, I admit I am feeling somewhat confused and mucho sheepish. What I am about to ask is probably known by 99% of the people on here. How do I create a halfling PC?  I don't think my version of nwn is broken, but I can't seem to see a way to create a standard DnD 3ed character race (page 19 phb) PC  (there is no mention in the character creation/race screen of Halflings) . I've looked at Leto, but that just confused me more. Then there are the sub-race engines, do I need to use one of these? All I want is lvl 1 fighter/ lvl 1 rogue halfling. OK it would be nice if I could rename the race and give the resultant PC a bonus of +4 hide and +4 move silently, but at this time a standard halfling (including the model)
 would do.

Any help appreciated.

Creating a halfling PC should be quite simple. Load a module, click "Create a New Character", select the gender, and the next option will be race. "Halfling" should be one of the buttons (under "Elf" and above "Half-elf." If one or more these options isn't there then your version of NWN is indeed broken, or at any rate there is something very weird going on with it. Or did you actually mean that you are having difficulty creating a halfling NPC in the toolset? Or how to apply the characteristics of a PnP subrace to NWN halflings?

Do you have a modified racialtypes.2da in your overrides folder that might have them unlisted as a playable race?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It turned out that in the past I had played a module (can't recall if it was pw or sp) that insisted on having a custom dialog.tlk. This had the effect of changing the halfling entry into a racial type they called ("Fae" BTW not "Fey" or "Fay"). They had also changed the description to match this. Not having played a halfling for a very long time I didn't notice until I needed it. I have totally forgotten changing the dialog.tlk but had archived the original (something I always do when changing original files, having been burned in the past), so was able to fix it.

Now either I couldn't see for looking or Leto 1.69 also uses the dialog.t;lk and that was why I couldn't see mention of halfling under the race combo box.

As the halfling that I need to create is for inclusion with a module I just need to find a way to change the racial name from hobbit to something else and give it the bonus's I mentioned at the start of this thread.

I believe that would be a certain PW I'm familiar with. :innocent:  Though the customized dialog.tlk file is optional, and yes, I always recommend making a backup of the original before putting in the altered version.

Fae is the abbreviation of the old english faerie, as in:
