I havent seen a spear or halberd since Morrowind. Shame, everything else seems a setback in comparison (exclude graphics of course).

NWN2 had spears and halberds and SCYTHES. Dual-wielding them ftw.

I've heard that spears & polearms were not implemented because Bioware couldn't figure out how to choreograph their moves accurately, & didn't wanna implement them if they couldn't get it right & do them justice. Maybe they can get them into a future expansion.

I already tried mages and rogues, but in the end I always roleplay warriors. What can I say? I have a soul of warrior.

I love the mage, but hitting things or shooting pointy sticks at people seem easier for me at least for the first play through. I have 4 warriors ready to go.



If I have understood how my skills will work, my female elf is going to focus on archery and maybe dual weapons, She's small so needs to focus on speed.

One of my Noble human females is stronger and will focus on just weapon skill, not sure about dual weapons for her yet.

And the other humans one male and female are going to be more balanced, One a little better at close in fighting and the other a little better at archery, but able to change styles as the need arises. Definitely at least one will have dual.



Of course this is now and when I actually start playing the game, I may change everything around.

Dwarf with a 2 handed axe cleaving through everything in sight? That's the life right there. Might make a human to play through with sword and board. Then again, might just make more vicious dwarves.

I'm thinking I'll rock the two handed sword, but sword and board might be fun too. Planning on doing the champion thing, depending on what sort of skills it comes to. I hope it's party leadership/buffing stuff. I like the idea of leading my group and making everyone more effective.

I'm looking forward to play my no bull$itt chaotic good (if there's anything like it in DA:O) warrior. Sword and board or 2handed sword, I'm still undecided about that. I would prefere a fast 1 1/2 handed longsword and some cunning half sword technics against armored enemys.

This is going to be messy.

This is going to be messy.

It's already been confirmed by the dev's that there is no alignment system. Instead, you choose a choice, & everyone in the game has their own AI for how they will choose to 'respond' to your choice, & different outcomes can come about as well. For example, you could choose to take a certain mini-quest, & your companions will respond to the choice in their own way, based on what kinda person you are. Same with npcs. Some might think your wasting time & like ya less, some might think your a good person, & some might just be indifferent. This is kind of a rough gist (sp?) of it.

It musta been a frightful headache settin up this kinda system, but many of us game players dare to hope that this new system is gonna be totally epic! Or at least cool.

Edit: Proofreading & eating at the same time didn't work too well. I guess I shouldn't try that again.
