Compare the number of responses by developers to the PC tech forum and those made in the 360 tech forums.

Maybe that could be because there is a LOT more different tech questions that actually have an answer *and deserves one* for PC's than for Consoles...

Especially soince PC isn't one single platform but must be tailored for hundreds of different setups and still work...

This thread will probably be closed just like the one You made in the general part I presume, because it WILL get derailed and flamefilled...

Especially when You start as You did....

You would think quite the opposite. Considering the Xbox platform has a standard and universal build problems would be easier to address and resolve. That still does not provide a reason why a developer has responded to nearly every thread in the PC sub-forum and not one of the threads in the Xbox 360 forum.

DA:O is my first BioWare game, and my first impression was that they don't care for consoles.

I find it kind of funny that we got a dev thread telling us of the new update. And a warning in general not to download the update. But no such warning in the update thread or on the 360 tchnical forum.

We're lucky they even considered a patch, they WERE going to patch Mass Effect, but eventually didn't bother.

maybe it's a delaying tactic, as once ME 2 is out, nobody will care until Awakening is due, giving them more time to fix everything wrong with Dragon Age.

If they can't even fix the DEX  bug after nearly three months, do not even bother to post replies in this sub-forum, how confident are you that they will fix anything before Awakening?

Do you want them to send little patches to EA and then to Microsoft to fix each thing as it is reported, or would you rather they fixed a bunch of things at one time? Those are the options, and if I owned an XBox 360, I know which I'd rather see.

Well, it proves that we dont need any moderator in here ;)

What shall they advise us? To reinstall a new graphic driver? To run directx? There is no help except from a patch or title update. Thats why I bought a console earlier. Got sick of setting up new systems and my spare time is important. After I got a job of course :D

And if you want to play an archer or a dex rogue? Put the game on the shelf for 3+ months till they around to fixing it?

Thats what I do, NecroFiend. Youll survive it. Look at me. And its marketing. Everyone gets alarmed if their product isnt in use anymore. And they want to sell us new stuff. To whom if nobody is playing anymore? My DAO rests since 20th december or so. I had short startups just to have a look what changed. Nothing to stay longer than just short on this game. Hey, yes, I like it, but I ran into problems one time too often and there is no gameplay fun available, because you know when the same bugs appear over and over again. So leave it on your shelf, play s.th. else...or have a look to the indiegames section on XBL. Really nice games out there currently.

Well, they could spend every second updating us on the status of what they are doing and releasing a patch for every change... or they could work on fixing things. You know, they've somehow managed to achieve a wee bit of success without outsiders telling them what they should do. Maybe... just maybe... they know what they are doing....

Sure, it's a pain to patch, but this is the only game i've ever played on my xbox that has had SO many bugs. I didn't mind most of them, until i go to play my game one day and see a new update along with new DLC. I've never before had to check forums to see if a patch was safe, or to see if DLC was safe. I updated, grabbed the DLC, and went on to play. It wasn't until the next time I put the game in that I found all these issues. RtO is working fine for me, at least it is on the two characters i brought there so far, it's the update that pisses me off. Basically made it pointless for me to play.

I agree that they more or less ignore console users, that much was made clear to me within the past few weeks of being in this community. I also can't believe that they had to pull the new DLC after a day of it being up, not to mention it being delayed for so long as well after they already announced it.

There's only so much I can understand. I understand how we more or less get a weak version of the game, as PC users have the toolset, i also understand why we can't have that. Really, the console version is becoming more and more useless, and they don't seem to be doing anything about it.

If I had known about this, I wouldn't have spent $70 on this game, or would have at least gotten the PC version, which was cheaper, even though i'm a console gamer, not a PC gamer.

Quote from right below the TITLE of this forum:

"This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age: Origins on the Xbox
360 to assist each other with technical questions. Official game
support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try
to assist each other here."

The Bioware folks aren't responsible for the X-Box support.  Grumble at EA.  Bioware has been posting answers to most of the questions in here in the general discussions forums.  If you wish to skip all of the user banter and flames and just get to the official word, click the blue "Bioware" button below the topic to see only posts by Bioware employees.  It only works if you are logged into the forum, and the Bioware logo only appears if one of their employees has posted in the forum.  The Bioware personnel are answering X-Box questions in the general discussion forum as they are able.

So please explain to me why there is exactly the same sticky in the PC tech forum yet developers have answered nearly every thread? So we have to not only post our problems in this sub-forum but the general forum as well, while PC user can post in the PC tech forum and get an answer from a developer right away while we got no answers what so ever.

Fanboy?

Regardless of who is responsible for what, at the very least we deserve a statement of some sort. Preferably acknowledging the existence of a massive number of bugs, some of them crippling, and stating what Bioware/EA/whoever intends to about it. Even if they intend to never do anything (or are unable to), I would prefer that they come out and tell me that, so that I can go ahead and seek a refund for this game instead of pointlessly keeping it shelved in hopes of an eventual patch.

Honestly, the volume and severity of the bugs in this game is mind-blowing.  How this game could've possibly gone through any significant amount of playtesting without atleast some of these glitches being discovered and corrected, is entirely beyond my comprehension.  I can't believe that a company would release a game in that state, and then even a few months later, still refuse to even give customers the courtesy of a simple statement of some sort regarding the issue.

Oh for sure. They release a patch for the Xbox after THREE MONTHS that makes the game even worse than pre-patch. Yes, they sure do know what they are doing...

I just think its funny that according to last stats XBOX has sold 1.5 million more copies of DA:O then PC, but we get no response to anything. The only thing we have received is there is suppose to be a patch to fix the game, but no patch log like PC got saying what the patch is fix, then the put a high priority patch to fix achievements through that breaks the game, and the only thing we get is don't download the patch if you can, and we are working on the issue but no update on when they will fix it. All if you don't connect to XBL to download the patch you can't play any of your saves if you received any of the free DLC items that Bioware gave away that didn't come with the copy of the game you bought because you need to be online. Plus if you try to get any answer from EA about the issue they direct you back to this forum to get help, Try to contact Edge of Reality that did the port, they just say they are not involved with the game just putting onto DVD so we can play, and trying to get anything from BIoware, you are pretty much getting a cold shoulder. I think I will wait on getting ME2 until I start to read the forums to see what is wrong with that game.

You know what I would like to see? A patch that fixes the problems not creates new ones and leaves the game completely butchered. I would really like to see my specializations that I spent 60 hours unlocking for my second playthrough to come back.

I repeat, they have made a statement in the general forums.  Follow the link I provided.  Perhaps it wasn't the best place to post it, but they made a statement.

And we repeat THIS IS THE 360 TECH SUPPORT FORUM. The first place it should have showed up. Not in the general board so they can continue stroking thier important customers while telling them RTO is delayed.

Oh good lord Taiko! I think we all would appreciate it if you decide to ban Bioware and never post here again. ;)
